Respect to Ryan Clark for being able to keep it real like this and have a hard conversation about a friend. Mike T is like family to him. It can't be easy for him to see it come to this.

Really? Ryan is saying it's not Tomlin's fault, it's the players for not giving their all for Mike Tomlin, that Tomlin can go anywhere and bring instant success. Shannon gave Ryan a reality check by keeping it real, and look at that realization sink in on Ryan's face.

Glad Shannon is keeping it 100. It’s literally been Tomlin’s ENTIRE TENURE that this has been going on. Every single roster he’s had, there’s been at least ONE headache wide receiver he’s had. Ppl praise tomlin for managing Antonio brown, but now we can see that he ENABLED Brown to spiral out of control.

Theyve been middling year in year out and with the parity in todays NFL that hasnt been too difficult. A new voice, new regime, new energy is needed in Pittsburgh. Ive been fan since 1980. Tomlin was a great hire. They can find another gem to coach for team. I trust Rooneys to get it right again.

You say you may suck for some time, but I'd say it's pretty clear the steelers are sort of in the same situation as the chargers except you're not losing as badly. The players don't look like they're buying in and you're either going to be bad or mediocre unless a change is made. If nothing is improving, you gotta take a chance and move on.

I’m a NC native and still live here, but I’ve been loyal to my team through Neil O’Donnell, Kordell, Brister, Tomczak. Through good and bad. This is something I’ve never seen out of this organization. The passion those Shannon mentioned had plus Hines (Still angry that he hasn’t been inducted in HOF yet) and many others is just not there. TJ lays it all out there Every. Single. Game. Now he’s baffled because he can’t understand why players don’t want to practice. Entitled players on the roster that care about their stats only, and have no concept of team. It’s time to clean house. Top to bottom.

It's simply a bad team going through a growth phase. The Patriots have a worse record than the Steelers after losing Brady. And we lost major lineman, Pouncy, Faneca etc we haven't replaced and on the D line as well because as winners we get bad draft picks.
There will always be Prima donna WR's, now they can talk about how great they are but it doesn't make them bad players.

Tomlin does not need to leave Steelers nor do they have to get rid of him. This whole week long conversation has been about a player that plays a position that has the most divas. You deal with them best you can deal with someone making millions of dollars before 25 yrs old.
The main issue with this team is a lack of talent offensively. Not winning creates these attitudes, not that Mike is allowing it.
No one is accounting the defensive injuries there have been this year as well so yes, you’re going to lose some games.
And a head coach won’t look as good as they can without a good to great qb.
Steelers need to keep getting depth on defense, look for talent and get a franchise qb.

I remember 2 years ago when Sharpe called out Tomlin for behavioral issues at receiver saying “you are either condoning it or coaching it” The team needs a QB they need a new line their front office doesn’t make allot of moves during the off-season so the only way for a real rebuild is for draft picks. If the Steelers go 9-8 they will pick middle of the draft and not get a need and be stuck with their QBs. I think Tomlin or the Rooneys need to make a decision and let Tomlin go somewhere like the chargers and start over by hiring EB or Ben Johnson just my thoughts

Tomlin needs to go because he is not a good head coach..he isnt even a decent one. There is plenty of evidence to support this. You are right about the culture..that is what allowed a bad head coach to have success early on until he was able to get his fingerprints all over this team, and now here we are. Sure he could get hired right away...so could most of the head coaches who have been around for a while. The Steelers needed a head coach who could actually coach all along and not a cheerleader/mentor. Ill take a coach with a winning record in the playoffs any day..or a coach who hasnt given up 40+ points in the playoffs multiple times (he's a defense specialist?)..a coach that could beat a Tim Tebow team in the playoffs. I hope coach Tomlin realizes he is not a good head coach and retires at year end and we can listen to his bravado/swagger/mindless word salads as he is in a broadcast booth somewhere..bah. If Tomlin is such a leader of men, why does he have several men like that on his team? year after year.
