This is the first time I understood what actually causes the 'water stain". The information is gold. Thank you. --- Folks, beware of all the internet advise. Some of it is super dubious. Watch this video and actually see for yourself.
Thank you!!! My son had his Bible custom covered with leather in Italy and when his water bottle leaked on it, we thought all was lost. We’re going to do this! Bless you, you wonderful man!
This is super informative, it's the first time I understood what water stain on leather is. I followed your method with my leather cleaner and it worked wonderfully. Thank you for this tutorial!
Thank you! I created a terrible water stain while trying to get out another stain. I never thought of the rolling/massage technique. It' working so far and I'm so excited that the water spot is getting lighter. Whew! You helped saved my beautiful vintage coach bag!
I am so encouraged that there is hope for my beautiful vegetable tanned Mulberry bag! Seeing is believing, and understanding that the natural oils are displaced and still there, that helps to be patent and intentional with the application technique. Can't wait to try. Thank you!
Yes I did try, and you are right about the stiffness being different than the demo. That said, I patiently pinched and rolled, starting at the edges. Because of the stiffness, when I say pinched, it was to grasp enough so I could roll it. It's call them tiny rolls, and I focused on the idea that the trapped oils were being distributed. It did considerably diminish the spot, which was about 3 inches wide. I went at it again the next day. I have to say, though, it was enough to allow me to again use the bag. I also did the Lexol conditioning, wow, or a very pretty satiny when to the leather. It's definitely worth the effort.
@scotieclark Does this principle also apply to ostrich leather? I have a bag made of ostrich leather and it got a big water. The bag is Red, I love it and want it fixed.
Wow, I just found this video, Thank you! You just saved my one Dooney and Bourke. You’ve got another subscriber. I can’t wait to watch all your other videos!! ❤
OMG thank you! The rolling worked on my leather boots! I finally broke down and bought Dubarry Galway boots last year and they have a water stain frome me cleaning mud. I thought they were ruined. I never heard of rolling but man it worked! thank you!
Oh My Gosh Thank You So So Much Have A Beautiful Light Tan Leather Fossil Crossbody Purse that I was Absolutely Careless and Ignorant With and I Just did Your Technique and it is Coming out so Beautifully I had this set in a corner With my Belonging still in it didn’t have the Heart to even Look at it and on a Whim I Decided to see if there was any hope and You Saved my Purse Thank You Thank You Thank You!💕🙏😊
This is amazing! simply rubbing it saved my leather bag!! I just followed his first instruction where I just rubbed the bag with no product and the water marks went away. Thank you so much 😮🎉❤❤
Hi Mr Clark, I’ve got a Valentino tote with big studs all over the bag. In the video, after applying the Lexol leather cleaner, you roll the leather to get rid of the marks. So the problem is I cannot roll this bag due to its design. In this case, what can I do? Many thanks 🙏
you don't have to roll it as much, just poke the leather from the back side and move your finger around. You just want to redistribute the oils and you can do that from pushing it from the back of the leather.
Could you do this with the saddle soap as well? I have a leather bag and my brother left a napkins with ketchup on the kitchen island exposed and then my dad put my bag on it!! He was helping me with my stuff as I got home and now my purse has a terrible spot at the bottom and a bit of a side 😢….
Thank you for your tip!!!🙏😊 I had a water stain on my light grey pouch, it was all dark, and I just rolled the leather, as it was on the corner of the pouch, and it nearly disappeared. Amazing!!!
Great video! thanks for the info! I had to clean a lining of my natural leather bag and now there are some water stains around the opening. So I am going to give this a shot and see what happens!
Thanks for sharing. I have an old Louis Vuitton Alize travel bag that the leather has water damage that l haven’t used in years. I am going to pull it out and see if this will work.
What if you're trying to do this technique on a pair of shoes? I have a pair of A.S.98 sandals I need to get some slight water discolorations out of, but being shoes, I can't roll the leather the way you are doing this leather sample which would also apply to handbags.
I have a Prada beige very soft leather and wool jacket that I wore to a party and had some beverage droplets on the Leather. Spot are very dark and noticeable(wish I had know this before wearing it to a party). I took it to a tailor/leather repair shop and was turned down because he was afraid to damage it. I unfortunately do not know what kind of leather it is the tag also doesn’t say. I can provide pictures if that helps. I really would like to get the spots out, not the end of the world if not, I’ll take it as a lesson learned.Any response would be greatly appreciated!
Yes veg tan leather is “regular” leather the name is just describing how the leather is tanned or processed meaning instead of chemicals it was processed with organic material for example acorns
Cam you tell me what to do tonget cat pee out of my beautiful true genuine high quality lesther butterfly chair with thick 1/4 in leather strips for the stiching and of course its s light/medium color so I'm afraid to stain it. It already stains instantly., if even a tiny sprits of water lands on it and wiped immediately it will stain. my mom mboight it in the middle east while on deployment its irreplaceable to me
This might be a little out there, but do you know how to restore a leather jacket finish? What product to use? I already conditioned the leather, but the entire leather jacket finish is stripped and it just looks matte.
How's anybody going to be able to roll a bag or a purse or a wallet to remove the stains That's kind of a problem right there You're doing it with a cutoff leather piece but when it comes to doing it with a bag especially if the bag is big those bags are not soft to roll I don't see how you can do that why didn't you try it on a real bag not on a piece of leather that would have made it more interesting video for those of us that can't roll a back like you or rolling a piece of leather
This is misleading, it is not cleaning or removing any stains or marks. It is actually just staining the unmarked leather to match the stains that have stuck previously. The previous colour was lighter and now it is several shades darker as it has just matched the stains. If you don't mind the colour change then it isn't an issue but if you want to return the colour to it's previous shade this will not do it.

Best leather cleaner/conditioner video I’ve seen yet…nicely done sir!
Thank you!!! My son had his Bible custom covered with leather in Italy and when his water bottle leaked on it, we thought all was lost. We’re going to do this! Bless you, you wonderful man!
Great video! Simple instructions using common items and a lot of good information.

Did you tried? I have mulberry bags too, but I don’t think I can bend the leather, in this video he has a piece of leather but not a handbag.

EXCELLENT. TIME AND PATIENCE MAKES IT BEAUTIFUL.
No words to thank you enough for your video that makes remarkable things happen when all is thought to be lost on a gorgeous bag!😊

Will this work on a vintage leather table top with water rings?

Notice how he didn't respond to you. That's cause he don't care about his viewers. Bad
@@shawnprewitt5792 you are a simple minded person. Reason could be whatever. Maybe he busy.

what are those scouring pad things called (brand+model)?
...absolutely wonderful video!
Thank you,! Would you do this to a LV vacchetta and canvas bag?

I have some leather Burberry shoes I’m working on. I can’t roll it, what would be your best advice ?
I have a leather rug with a water stain on the back side. Would this method work as well on the back side?
How about if I spill a half bottle of water in my leather purse, how can I remove the big water stain?
Can you tell us about the sponge and the “knob” that is attached to the sponge. That’s very helpful- as is your video! Amazing. Thank you
Yeah it comes with the Kwik shoe polish kit. Some are in packages of 4.
Wonderful explanation Thanks
Thank you for posting this!
Does this also work on really old leather with old water strains
Judging from some comment here, it does work.
Can you put cream on before on new bag to prevent?
Thank you for your tip!!!🙏😊
I had a water stain on my light grey pouch, it was all dark, and I just rolled the leather, as it was on the corner of the pouch, and it nearly disappeared. Amazing!!!
How you roll a boot though?
Finally the best tip, and it worked out, thanks.
Great video! thanks for the info! I had to clean a lining of my natural leather bag and now there are some water stains around the opening. So I am going to give this a shot and see what happens!
Thank you Scottie Clark.
I'm hoping this will work on my leather shoe😅😅😅 due to walking in wet grass it's been badly watermarked
Thanks for sharing. I have an old Louis Vuitton Alize travel bag that the leather has water damage that l haven’t used in years. I am going to pull it out and see if this will work.
What can you do instead of rolling the leather if it's on a pair of dress shoes?
Same question I have for a real bag. I believe we just keep massaging the leather so it absorbs what it must.
Any thoughts on using a small marble facial roller to move the oils around?
Thanks! I worked on my light brown shoes while I watched, copying what you did.
I love lexol. It works wonders on my leather couch and my leather bags
What if it’s a natural leather ottoman ester stain and you can not roll
I have some Stacy Adam boot with the same color, will this work for them?
Can you do this for dyed leather?
What if you're trying to do this technique on a pair of shoes? I have a pair of A.S.98 sandals I need to get some slight water discolorations out of, but being shoes, I can't roll the leather the way you are doing this leather sample which would also apply to handbags.
Exactly the problem I have with tan leather boots. I was thinking to dry brush them first?
Massage the leather with the needed solution.
Can I use this method on my leather couch seat pillow?

If it worked on naked vegtan leather it should work on your leather. It may darken it some that's why I suggest covering the whole piece of leather.
Can you use these products and techniques on regular leather?
Yes veg tan leather is “regular” leather the name is just describing how the leather is tanned or processed meaning instead of chemicals it was processed with organic material for example acorns

Where can I buy the sponge? I like it because it has a handle. I looked on Amazon and could not find it.
Walmart in the shoe polish kit
@@scottieclark2962 Thank you
What is veg tan
Please
Thank you!
I hope works on my LV ALMA BAG
Thank you… learned a lot today!
Will this work on vachetta?
You can also apply heat evenly for similar results without wearing the leather
Can i confirm that I can use this Lexol leather cleaner on veg tan leather? Thank you.
Yes you can
Leather cleaner without putting water?
Thank you so much ❤
This was very helpful! Thanks for the video.
Great video thank you so much! How about blood or dark stain?
I haven't tried that yet . Maybe I try it on some scrap leather.
Thanks!
thank you mr clark!
Great job!
Thank you for this!
Can you use this technique on Vachetta leather?
It should the leather that I used for the demonstration is a naked vegetable tan leather which is the same.
