After scoping out the Gearwrench at Home Depot then looking at the Quinn at Harbor Freight it's easy to see they're the same ratchet with different stamping and color grips. Head and grip shape are identical. Gearwrench's ratchet is twice the price though.
Been watching for some time. I thought I was already subscribed. I don't know how I wasn't. I am now. Good luck on your way to 2000. I'm still trying to break 500. I'll get there. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Money can’t buy happiness, however, money can buy tools. Also, chrome is like diamonds, to dudes, anyways. There, two fundamental life wisdoms, contained within. Now, run, my son, and go buy more tools, ratchets and chrome sockets! 😂😂 Also some picks, and some pry bars and some dead blows, while you’re at it. Don’t come back home without a breaker bar and a compressor! And some rattle guns! Transfer center punches and some chisels!
So would you say this is well-lubricated already? If I'm not mistaken, HF has been guilty of not sufficiently lubricating their ratchets. That doesn't make sense to me---the lubricant isn't very expensive and it would make their ratchets perform better when tested at the stores.
@@jacobe1942 I guess it depends on who you ask. I have heard of using transmission fluid, white lithium grease, and a product called Super Lube, among many others.
alright snap ring....i just broke down a vessel 3/8 ratchet with the non slip grip. I really want to know your thoughts on it as it was challenging. to get back together.
Like the video but, apex doesnt make gearwrench or most other tools. They bought the brand. Most wrenches and ratchets are made in Taiwan or china. Some production has moved to india factories. Where Gearwrench is made at Kabo, Infar, Rotar, and William tools (Taiwan Factory William Chiang). You would be suprised to know 85 to 90% og tools come out of these few factories.
You might want to watch a few more videos. One shows all internals are the same. Apex doesn't make tools it's sourced out to companies in taiwan. Same company makes quinn for HF. Gearwrench and quinn are 1000% interchangeable. Same everything. But you can believe what you want to 😂
How can you not love a Gearwrench / Quinn Ratchet with the beer can thick backing plate LOL also how does HF come up with the names of their tool brands some of the names are just hilarious .. Almost there to 2k enjoy the work week
These new Quinn's might become collectable in the future....Apex is for sale..If they sell out who is to say that they will still make these for Quinn/Harbor Freight?....These ratchets might be here this Christmas and then gone by the spring....Then people will be hawking them on eBay......It might be a good idea to stock up on these babies while they're on sale.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Apex doesn't make ratchets. Apex sell on brand name. The actual work is done in taiwan in the same factory as alot of other brands. Quinn just happens to be in that same factory as gearwrench.
Hey man, thanks for reviewing ratchets for us in a super calm manner you can watch anytime and around the grandkids. 😁
Many thanks! Glad you’re enjoying the videos 👍
@@snapringchronicles3020 Bit off topic... But have you/would you ever consider a toolbox and or ratchet "tour" ?
New subscriber. Thanks for the tip on snipping the plastic tabs on the package.

I got the quarter inch drive one a few months back, it's my go to 1/4 drive ratchet at the moment, so small and smooth
Yeah I have to say the quality does seem pretty good on this series of Apex ratchets 👍

Harbor Freight Addiction.
having a HF Addiction is a good thing LOL
I'd say that's better than a tool truck addiction.
Home away from home lol

thanks after watching he also recommends lighter oils like 3 in 1
@@mattmgarza
@@mattmgarza yes this one had a lot of grease in it.
I use gear oil in mine
For your 2000 subscriber special, you should buy a brand new snap on ratchet
I hope Santa 🎅 is generous this year👍
It would be great to compare them to the Advanced Auto Diehard comfort grip 90 tooth ratchet
I did do a video on the Diehard non comfort a while ago
Both ratchets are made by apex

I don’t think I have any Vessel ratchets🤔 so unfortunately I have no info on those

Is not a copy of gearwrench
It is a gearwrench ratchet made by apex tools
Ok 👍

How does the quality and function of this compare to Icon?
In my humble opinion these compare pretty well to Icon’s quality
