I keep one of those Pittsburgh composite ratchets in 3/8", in my Jeep tool kit, and I have absolutely beat the hell out of that thing! The teeth are nice and fine, very little backdrag, and it's voltage safe! It's a perfect throw around ratchet, and I now have them in both my Ram Off-Road and my Wrangler JL!
What does your Jeep tool kit consist of fellow jeeper?
same i too would like to know
I love you all content. Reminds me of the time I spent with my father during my childhood.
Thanks we really do appreciate it.
I want that mini snap on tool box!!! I’ve seen them in a number of videos, they are so cool.
They are awesome. I found mine on marketplace
I have the 1/4" Pittsburgh rachet, I must say it's impressive for the price.
It beats All my American made Craftman rachets by miles.
Just get the tools you need. I stay clear off facebook marketplace-alibaba-aliexpress esque stuff most of the time unless it looks to be for factories etc (5k specialised equipment that cost 15k in the west), but for a ratchet set mine cost 60 euro and outperforms most 100-200 euro sets, and is on par with the 1-2k sets I've used at work. It's an "in-home" brand from the largest hardware store in the country. These kind of brands are always outperforming or on-par with overcharging snap-on esque products.
You guys are awesome; thank you for being who you are. I really appreciate how much fun you all seem to have providing such good content. I say forget trying to be super technical; other folks have good channels for that. I appreciate the real world applications and the attitude y’all emit when making videos. Keep up the good work and don’t go changing!
Quinn vs Gearwrench!!!! Go!!!
That Quinn ratchet is essentially a Taiwanese Apex tool made, 90t Gearwrench ratchet. I've torn them down and they are identical, other than a larger dimple on the gear center of the GW. Just pick your brand, and/or the grip and warranty you prefer.
The Icon line of tools is supposedly getting a major revision in 2025. You guys should run this test again when the updated Icon 1/4 ratchet is available next year. This video was a lot of fun to watch.
Great test I love all the harbor rachet but I love the Qinns
I’ve had icon ratchets along side with snap on and I’ll say this right now icon wins the race
Nice video, keep up the good work.
Thanks we really appreciate it
How do these compare to the harbor freight ratchets that come in the sets?
Keep up the good work guys, I wish me and a buddy could do videos like this, y'all remind me of hanging out with friends bullshitting lol
All three are nice !!
Yes they are!
I just kept coming back for more content so I subbed
Feel like for a 1/4” ratchet the pittsburgh is perfectly fine. For 3/8” which is probably going to be your most used, probably want something a little more quality. For 1/2” i would definitely go for the higher quality since you’re more consistently putting high torque loads on the gears

You guys are awesome. My kind of people
I use the 1/4" Quinn daily.. love how thin it is. The head on my 3/8 Quinn wouldn't stay together, so I traded for the icon.
I have the Pitt composite in all sizes - I love them, the 3/8 is no goto ratchet and I’ve got snap-on and icon
I definitely like my Icon stuff.
Icon is awesome
I have been using my Pittsburgh composite 3/8 daily for 6 years now with zero issues.
I wanted to see what that icon would have done with that 100 foot pounds.
I've seen the 3/8's Icon flex-head take 204ftlbs before it broke, the Snap-On comparison broke at 202ftlbs.. hopefully that insight helps.
@@COBRO98your not wrong
Bro icon ratchets are nasty asf they take abuse fr fr beat bang for your buck
I have a bunch of ratchets, some older USA made mid tier like the better craftsman some mid tier like SK and some newer higher end ones like nepros. By far my favorite 3/8 flex head ratchet I like to use is a long reach Pittsburgh pro. I just always end up grabbing it no matter which one I star with.
"Harbor Freight Everywhere" while standing in front of a HUGE Snap On wall, then pans to a Matco tool cart. So yeah, not really everywhere. haha
Should of sent it with the icon on the 100. It has lifetime warranty what's it matter if it breaks. Gearwrench 90T is an amazing ratchet
I think the icon could do the 100!! Now you have to satisfy our curiosity!!! I mean they are lifetime warranty, you can replace it! But but our thirst to know can never be quenched!
Amusing comparison, but seriously that was way too much torque for 1/4.😢 I think you should have used the chrome Pittsburgh pro ratchet instead of the composite. Also using a torque meter to measure the torque at failure would provide more info.
Love the video
Thanks we really appreciate it
Great video , you two are a trip ! I want to see Hunter shoot a S&W 500 magnum with 700 grain pills 😂😝😳
I waited for the icon to win at 100 pounds 😢 but I guess we will never know lol😅
There is no way that there is so much difference between ratchets, my guess is that the bolts may have had a little splatter from the welding in the threads and that is what kept the nut from losening
If there are nuts on the underside of that table and they are getting distorted from the cranked on vice-grip it may make it a little harder to turn depending on how tight the vice-grips are. I never saw the setup under the table. I am assuming it was nuts welded to the plate.
Have you guys used the "Zero Degree" ratchets?
Awesome video
Thanks we appreciate it
I think red use to be considered permanent but I mean even epoxy wouldn't really be undoubtedly in the right situation but green is supposed to be permanent but im not sure what you are even testing there
Great video
Thanks we appreciate it
The red locktite is actually high temperature locktite not permanent. Blue will actually hold tighter.
Subbed. Hot damn my color Yellow.💪👍🇺🇸🛠️🔧⚒️
Breaks the Strap-On at 40
Trys to trade it out: "those bites off a cheater? Sorry we cant trade that out"😂
Some of those Quinns are same as Gearwrench. Need replacement chrome Icon socket or wrench? Carlisle at Napa are the same as IconI got Carlisle mid length sockets to round out the Icon and cant tell the difference. Lost my 10mm (go figure) and 14mm wrench w the open end grippy grooves. Got the Carlisle and ya have to look at them but they are same manufacturer.
There is about 100 different branded taiwanese tools that are all similar...you can not claim carlisle and Icon come from the same place without proof...many other brands also look the same..
@@djsi38tthere was a video where someone bought an icon set and it had a socket that had cornwell stamped on it. I forget which set it was.
A short socket would've made the slippage less likely
They all are good
They are
Just remember that your using steel vs composite so it isn't a real comparison
Wow Wow omg my tools 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Chickens push it. Let it ride
funny video :)
Goofball garage.
I'm not sure why you got the composite Pittsburgh it's designed for like electric stuff so you can't short out out easily don't they have a normal one for about the same price
Try the composite one though. Very comfortable, very smooth. It's been my overall favorite ratchet (for everything) for awhile.
@72dodge340 I have a composite one but I just use it for batteries and electrical stuff
Why on earth use a plastic pittsburgh ratchet when you could have used a steel pittsburgh ratchet to make a better comparison?.What exactly were you trying to prove with the loctite bolts?...That one ratchet would magically apply more torque than another?
It's a steel ratchet with a composite coating placed on it🙄
Icon for the win
Yes
