    Touch screens are dangerous in cars. I completely agree with you on the safety and usability of the scroll wheel. Great video for real people.

      Most cars won’t let you use the touch screen unless the car is in park. Mine has a screen and wheel and the touch screen is 2000x faster when typing stuff in

    Summers are horrible in TN. The bugs, heat, and humidity are disgusting, but I’m glad you liked it. I moved a year ago and I don’t miss it. I’ve been watching your videos bc I’m considering on a CX-5 myself. It’ll be my first Mazda, coming from a Nissan Altima.

    I have a 2024 CX5 that allows touchscreen operation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and I still prefer using the hand dial remote. Hands down a better interface while driving and it is fast and precise.

    I completely agree with you. Touch screens are a pain in the ass. I have a 2021 bmw and it has both the idrive system and a touch screen, and I put a glass screen protector on the screen thinking I would exclusively be using the touch screen. Turns out I haven’t used the touch screen in over 6 months. The rotary dial is so tactile and so much simpler once you learn where everything is. I had a 2019 Lexus and the Lexus system is the absolute worst

    My 21 Mazda 3 has hella interior rattles. Been hunting them down for a year. Crazy because of how premium the interior looks but everything behind the dash is just a maraca. I took my first real roadtrip from Tennessee to California though and it was a breeze. I really love this generation of Mazda; questioning if these models will be the last platforms before they move to electric models. They could just stretch it out for a decade. Look how long Chrysler has been building the Charger lmao.
    Edit: Holy crap you're like right in my area in this video. I am absolutely one of your 5 viewers btw.

    Steely Dan Can’t Buy A Thrill is one of my favorite albums. I have owned my CX5 2023 Premium for two weeks now and can say I have mastered the infotainment system. I did have an issue though when I connected Apple Car Play. I can’t remember what screen I was on but everything was fine until I adjusted the volume which kicked me out of the current app I was in. Have you experienced anything like that? I’ve only connected it once so I guess I need to experiment more. My other issue is the seats, I wish they were slightly wider because the sides press against my thighs too much but then again I am coming from a Ram truck to this smaller car so maybe that’s normal. I’m planning on a long road trip soon across two states so I’ll probably buy a memory foam pad to sit on as I get that butt bone pain whenever I drive too long but that has been the case no matter what cars I’ve driven. A very interesting video by the way and dice I’ve watched two already so I guess it’s time to subscribe. Happy trails.

    • @bbishoppcm
      @bbishoppcm  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The carplay issue is not something I’ve experienced, but I have had overall bad luck using CarPlay with non-Apple branded cables. The seats are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a car, and so far we’ve driven from NH to Tennessee once, and NH to Pittsburgh and west virginia most recently, all with no discomfort.

      Honestly, I still believe it has more power than it needs. More power would come at a cost of either fuel economy or long term reliability (turbochargers for example). In its current form, it easily gets out of its own way even with four adults in it.

    I bought a 2022 Turbo two months ago. I love this car, i do but..... I almost ALWAYS use android auto and the info system ready is a pain when I'm using it. The touchscreens I've had are MUCH easier. I want to use the Sirius in the car, not the app on my phone and it can be done but it's a pain to change channels. The app on the phone and the app in the car have done of the sanee channels but they aren't playing the same songs at the same time. Sometimes i don't even know which I'm listening to unless I look at the screen. If the song playing is what it says then it's the app on the phone. If the song playing is different than what is actual playing I'm listening to the car radio but it isn't registering on the screen. It always wants to use the app on my phone. Other than that the dial is fine. If Apple and Google would develop an app for non touch screen cars it would be great. But they won't. I'm tired of every reviewer saying this system is better. It may be when NOT using Android Auto but it just isn't right now.

      Sad loss on the Pontiac Vibe! Part of the reason that was such a great car was because it was rebadged Toyota matrix. When my son was ready to get his first car, I tried very hard to find an all wheel drive matrix/vibe in his price range and just couldn't get it done. Very disappointing.
