    amazing video as always!, had this car for a year now and i am still learning new things. you my friend have saved me so much money on repairs and work its insane, the car has been a bit of trouble definitely , especially this winter, it did not like the Scanian frost :main relay failure, boot latch failure (not closing), both front doors central lock failure (can also comfirm your amazin wd40 method works...well.. amazing!) last summer i had the clutch slave fail taking the clutch with it, aswell as a rear caliper getting stuck. it may seem like alot but other than the clutch replacement everything on this car has been hilariously easy to fix and cheap as dirt, super service friendly car, and its been more joy than pain having it working on your ride make you understand it alot more and develop a bond.
    and if i didnt have you that i could bother on insta every few weeks with a new problem i i would of pulled my hair out haha. you are a saint and never stop doing you, love this channel. keep it up! cheers!

    I've had my new to me 2011 Cupra R for a couple of months, done 2000km's, what a great car. My passenger door stopped opening and your drill fix did the job. Mine has a different module, but a small drill bit (3mm) did the job in the top of the module.
    My handbrake sticks on when used overnight, so I'll have to have a look at the spring and pistons soon.

      Cheers mate, and yeah I added in the bonnet strut mod. I never got a chance to explain it in the vid, but it's basically one of the left over Octavia struts, paired up with a 10mm ball headed bolt. I'm hoping to cover it in a future video, as it was pretty straightforward to do. I just searched on Google to see who else had done something similar. And way cheaper than the specialist kits that do the same thing 👍🏻

      I have the part number noted in my video where I swap my squib ring as it was faulty.
      Just check in the description of the video and I imagine your part number will need to be the same if you car has parking sensors and cruise control, as the systems rely on the squib ring for steering information. Sadly that's why they are very expensive

      I'm afraid I've not seen that part number on my car yet, I imagine it's a common module for the facelift cars if you search Google for it. Hey Ross,
      Sorry I don't know the exact size for the boot torx, and its currently at a garage getting new front tires, otherwise I'd check.
      But if you haven't already got a 'mechanics bit set' in your collection of tools, I highly recommend one, especially as SEAT's use a lot of these fixings. I've popped a link below of what I mean, and draper is a good brand. (You'll need a ratchet)
      amzn.to/3VC1T90
      As for the steering board wheel controls, they were very small torx screw, so I used one torx screwdriver from a set like this. Again, handy to have around for car jobs.

      Hey Mark, yeah I've heard loads of issues from owners with the wipers not sitting correctly if they've ever been removed or replaced. I've never had the issue myself I'm afraid, so I can't really give a definite fix for it.

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not 100% sure. I know when buying from UK sellers they have a choice for both facelift and pre-facelift, so there must be a small difference.I imagine it would be a pain to return, so worth taping it up carefully to the underside of the bumper, stand back and see how u think it looks. The curvature if the bumper is probably a little different, but sometimes you can get away with a slight difference.
      Worst outcome, sell it locally and then use the cash to buy a pre-facelift one.
      Hope that helps 👍🏻

      It's advisable that the cylinder head is skimmed and cleaned up if ur changing the head gasket, and that cost me about £300 at the time, + the head gasket kit, + maybe 4 to 6 hours labour, you could be looking at a bill of up to £700 😬🙈

      It can be done but a bit of modification needs to be done to the wiring harness on the car, and you'll need all the additional bits that are on the xenon's, like controllers, ballasts etc and yes it will then needing coding to ur car afterwards.

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have they been tampered with by a previous owner in any way, is there signs of wires being added or joined?
      The Leon's came out the factory with the 12v sockets only working off the ignition. So someone has maybe altered that. If there is no sign of modification you may have to just run a new circuit of wires for a switched 12v live, from either a nearby electrical part or from the fuse board on the side of the dash. Like some do for adding dash cams to their car.
