Found this channel the other day! Even though I own a MK3 SC FR, I still binged watched most the content. It’s brilliant! Keep it up! I’m so envious of the garage and being able to work away and talk to yourself inside, away from the cold and the eyes of the neighbours! Being able to start bigger projects and leave them overnight to continue the next day is a godsend! Just been through another set of shocks, so will be replacing my entire set of ST by KW stuff next week for some of Koni’s FSD stuff. Doing a few more bits to set her up for another year of being used and abused. Full service and all the calipers replaced for brand new and bigger 312/272mm setup in place of my 288/272mm setup, as my drivers side rear caliper is sticking. I’m sure the passenger side won’t be far behind.
Hey Christopher, welcome to the channel, and really glad you enjoy the videos, especially as you have a MK3 instead!! 😂 And yeah, I am really fortunate to have the garage space. The MK3's are brilliant, I was lucky enough to get a shot of a 2019 Cupra on my NC500 road trip (3 parts on the channel if you've not already seen it 😁) The MK3's are just the next step up in quality compared to the MK2's. Sadly the rear calipers seizing over time never changed for the MK3's 😂🙈 they're a pain in the arse! Upcoming Koni setup will be sweet for your car 👌🏻 I've heard loads of good things about them. You're taking care of her!! Cheers for your support mate 😊👍🏻
@ I’ve watched the first 2 parts so far! The pop quiz and stickers was a brilliant idea! 😂 Nope, they didn’t fix it on the MK3’s. Here’s hoping they got it straight for the MK4 users 🫣 Doesn’t help having the servo for the e brake being another fail point (which it did as the caliper was stuck). Luckily that set I got coming from Germany includes everything, even some OE pads for £300 🤯 (plus import and vat paid at the door I should 🤦🏻♂️) I do try look after her. 2018 and she’s close to seeing 150k miles now 😬 it gets used to drive all over the country, especially up here in Scotland too, for work. I’m based in Glasgow, well, Paisley. You’re welcome mate! Keep enjoying it and Doug what your doing ❤️
I know!! 😅 It gets really cramped working under the car, and the dirt just literally falls straight into my face!! Maybe I can save up for one, or Santa is bringing me one!! 🎁😅😅🤞🏻
New to me (2011) Cupra R owner, watching from Snowy Finland. Thanks for all of your videos and maintenance tips, I really appreciate them. Could I suggest wearing eye protection in future. especially when using a grinder. I'm going to be doing one of your full services on the car soon, including the gearbox oil. Cheers mate.
Ah Finland is a lovely country!! Really beautiful!! Yes, I hold my hands up, I was being very lazy by not going and getting my safety goggles. Extremely silly and dangerous 🙈 Best of luck with the service jobs on your car 😊👍🏻
Interesting video Kev as my Leon has the same headlights, so this is one to keep for future reference. Both front inner wings have just been welded on my 2012 to sort out a bit of rot, so time for a good coat of Waxoyl before the plastic liners go in. Also just in the process of changing the turbo actuator and fighting with the e-clip . Have a great Christmas Kev and all the best for the new year.
Cheers Anthony!! Ah yes I've heard the actuator and clips on it are super awkward to deal with. Inner wings on my car were surprisingly ok when I renewed the outer front wings . Rest of my car is a mess though Have a great Xmas to u too mate, cheers 😊🎁
Good job well done. Looked cold and uncomfortable under the car and get those glasses on😊 My 08 doesnt have DRL, only bulbs i have changed are the brake light bulbs when the car was new to ones that 'apparently' react quicker and a couple of rear light bulbs(ones in the wing).
Ah it wasn't too bad, a bit of a squeeze 😅 and yeah I felt stupid looking back as I edited the video, for not grabbing some safety specs! I wasn't aware the 2008 models didn't come with drl's. LEDs do look a bit more modern, just tough to find good ones 😅
I've had the Katur 194 LED sidelight bulbs in my Leon for over 4 years with no issues; all previous ones I tried lasted only a few months before they started flickering.
Very kind of you to say, thank you 😊 The registration LEDs were from Amazon, amzn.to/40eymot hopefully you get a working pair 😂 I've got a new pair to replace the faulty one, all good now!
Hello, quick question! In my 2010 Leon Cupra R, i put some “error free” LED bulbs, when i start the car i do get an error but after using them, the error dissappear, does it mean that i do not have the correct bulbs? The leds do light up..
Sadly some error free bulbs do balance between keeping the error off the dash occasionally, to then the error being there. The cars canbus system is extremely fussy, so it spots LEDs very easily (even "error free" ones) . I'm still struggling to purchase reliable error free DRLs, hence why there is no link on this video yet. Sorry I can't be of more help.
