Ah thanks mate for watching, and good to hear you enjoyed it. Well I have actually tackled the xenon issue now, it was the level sensor on the rear suspension in the end that had packed in, but I know the part you mean and I thought it was that too. Level sensor was a pain to replace, video was on the channel a couple weeks ago if you want a nosey at it. Cheers again 😊👍🏻

I've been in mk2 Leon Facebook groups over the past 6 years and it has taught me loads. A lot of common problems and solutions are shared on the groups. Some info I find in forums too when I notice issue's with the car. Hope that helps a bit 👍🏻

Thanks very much! Yep I use Bolt hamber surfex HD multipurpose cleaner for the engine bay. Get it nice and foamy, and agitate the dirt as much as possible. I then snow foam on top and I do use the pressure washer to rinse away the soap, but I don't put too much water towards the alternator or the fuse box. You can cover them in a plastic bag if you want to be safe 👍🏻 Hope that helps

502 is primarily for petrol/gasoline engines and 505 is mostly for diesel engines. But you do often get oil that is suitable for both and will probably list the specs on the bottle of 502/505. It's all very complicated 😂 If it's got both specs on the same bottle, then yes it'll be fine 👍🏻

Yeah mate, you just have to read the road in places and take care. It's the potholes that are the killer, for any height of car. You'll know when your getting nice stretches of road, when it can be enjoyed, then places you just have to be canny

I bought genuine from Spain. There's 3 or 4 variations of clock spring, depending on the model of Leon. Some are priced at 50 quid and will work fine, but my car has adaptive cornering headlights, cruise control, steering controls etc and supposedly that all contributes the the certain part number and price. For a clock spring that had the same part number, but the last letter was different, it would have only cost me £58, but wouldn't have worked sadly. Hope that makes sense 👍🏻

Hey James, cheers for watching 👍🏻 I can't comment too much about the driving experience of the VXR as I only had a wee shot of it. It definitely felt lighter to drive compared to mine, and yeah a little sketchy when accelerating hard and trying to rely on some cornering grip 😂 I think it was more of a sentimental/investment purchase by Graeme as he had a couple of them in his younger years. It rarely goes out his garage, and is a clean example. But yeah the driver focused cars u mentioned would be a completely different experience. Esp the Clio 🔥👌🏻 Cheers again mate 👍🏻

I completely disagree with you having been in one. Communication through the steering wheel was great and the power delivery was decent. They were the fastest FWD around the nurburgring at the time until the limited run R26R took over and we are talking about a 20 year old car. The interior is miles better than any clio and they have a stronger following. Power can be extracted easily and so much aftermarket support is available. We have the later Astra GTC VXR which pisses all over any Clio RS or Megane

I'm sure Graeme would shake your hand and totally agree. Wish I'd had more time to drive it properly, but a couple of pulls in 1st and 2nd at lower speeds, and to be honest on pretty rubbish road surfaces, and I just haven't driven it long enough to ay either way. But yeah Graeme can't fault it, he loves getting a reason to drive it 👍🏻

😂 don't blame you, they can be twitchy on any surface that's not bone dry!! 😂 This was the middle of may. End of may through to July is pretty consistent for decent weather. Even been known to have snow in April sometimes which is crazy !! 😂🙈

I do remember the mahoosive potholes. Scenery was epic, every turn of a corner it just kept on giving. Good to see a fellow rangers man ❤

If sat for 24 hours it has dropped to 10 bar Vs 50 specified, so it does gradually drop a bit over timewhen it's not leaking. Immediately after switching off it's still showing just over 50 bar

@@NorthCoastWorkshop Great, it's the same for me. I had to find out if it should drop or maintain that 50 bar actual vs specified, when engine is cold. I found this, it might be interesting: th-cam.com/video/k50Z5JLfuJs/w-d-xo.html. Here it only shows on a warm engine >80C, what the behavior of the system should be. Now when you have shared and fixed the leak, things are clear. Thank you!

The UK Cupras had the exhaust off to the side, and the UK Cupra R's had the exhaust exit out the middle as standard. I'm not sure if Cupras had a factory option to choose a centre exit exhaust. Mostly everyone modifys there Cupra to the centre exit setup with the maxton diffuser. I think this is different in other countries though for Cupras Vs Cupra R's Cheers for watching the vid 👍🏻

Sadly some error free bulbs do balance between keeping the error off the dash occasionally, to then the error being there. The cars canbus system is extremely fussy, so it spots LEDs very easily (even "error free" ones) . I'm still struggling to purchase reliable error free DRLs, hence why there is no link on this video yet. Sorry I can't be of more help.

The MK3's are brilliant, I was lucky enough to get a shot of a 2019 Cupra on my NC500 road trip (3 parts on the channel if you've not already seen it 😁) The MK3's are just the next step up in quality compared to the MK2's. Sadly the rear calipers seizing over time never changed for the MK3's 😂🙈 they're a pain in the arse! Upcoming Koni setup will be sweet for your car 👌🏻 I've heard loads of good things about them. @ I’ve watched the first 2 parts so far! The pop quiz and stickers was a brilliant idea! 😂 Nope, they didn’t fix it on the MK3’s. Here’s hoping they got it straight for the MK4 users 🫣 Doesn’t help having the servo for the e brake being another fail point (which it did as the caliper was stuck). Luckily that set I got coming from Germany includes everything, even some OE pads for £300 🤯 (plus import and vat paid at the door I should 🤦🏻‍♂️) I do try look after her. 2018 and she’s close to seeing 150k miles now 😬 it gets used to drive all over the country, especially up here in Scotland too, for work. I think I've currently got it blurred out in the vid, even tho I possibly mention it somewhere. Downloaded Workshop manual does actually say +180 degrees but I couldn't get it all the way around 🙈 It's "F'ing" tight tho!! 😂

It's definitely worth a try before paying for a new one. Check all the electrical connectors too, but this seems to fix it most of the time, especially going by the comments on this video 😁

Although I use obdeleven in the vid, they all have the menus and options found in the same locations 👍🏻

A 5w40 or 5w30 would be fine for your engine. In either 505 or 507 spec. 5w40 is normally best for the higher mileage older engines as it offers more protection at higher temperatures once the engine has warmed up

This will behave the same as a standard DV, so won't affect the tune if fitted before or after any remap 👍🏻

Hey John, I'm afraid I haven't had that issue, but I've heard it happen to others for the Leon, and there's a few things I've read that they should check - -The fuse box under the bonnet for any corrosion within it. Sometimes water can get into it -The wiring electrical blocks that connect into the back of the main fuse board inside the car. -Scanning the car with a diagnostic computer to see if any faults are stored for intermittent faults or low voltage/high resistance It definitely sounds electrical, so hopefully one of those 3 help you locate the issue 🤞🏻
