This man is probably the most gentle, kindest, honest, well mannered man I have ever seen on TV......I felt sorry for him when they took advantage of his well established company and he just accepted. God bless him
I have a feeling he knew they would be on the fence about the bike product, so he bragged about the other bussiness hoping they'd offer but not be 'too greedy'
He made a smart decision by giving 15% ownership to two successful investors with a track record of success while retaining 75% of the business.
Why is Touker even on the show anymore?
He is always the first one to check out the products. He takes the lead in doing that. Generally is nice to the pitchers and supports them, makes an offer and gets rejected🤣🤣

Peter and Deborah acutally pulled out of the deal. They did all the due diligence on the already existing business and everything was great, the numbers were great, but they felt like they took advantage of him, taking 15% of his well established business and doing nothing for it. So he got his 15% back.
Is this actually true?
That's a nice move of them. I felt like they were taking advantage of him the whole time, for that very reason.

When you look up the net worth of the dragon's, you usually get a list. And in quite a few of those, Jenny doesn't even appear.
Apparently she was out when the writers went to do their research.

You would never gather multiple parties in such talks into the same room, answer their questions and then give an answer on the fly in a true business scenario. If you think this is how mergers, acquisitions or divestitures are done in real life, unfortunately you are mistaken.
Having said that this guy made a horrible deal - 15 percent of 400k profit is nearly half the investment...lol that's just on 1 years profit, not taking into account the assets etc...

After The Den
The deal broke down after the den and unlike most failed deals who are keen to continue riding on the coattails of the Dragon's despite the deal never happening, the owner of Brighter Bikes has documented his post den experience in a blog post.
“It’s November 2018 now and Peter and Deborah have since pulled out of the investment. At first, we were shell-shocked. Why did they pull out? All the due diligence was carried out with no issues. So, why the turnaround? There were two reasons it seems. Firstly the BrighterBike indicator was not going to be ready for sale by Nov 4th 2018 transmission date but we had explained this and the viable reasons why, and secondly, and we think the more fundamental reason; we were told the Dragons team had looked at the TrafficAngel equity share the Dragons had asked for in the Den and it was felt they had been given too good a deal out of TrafficAngel. Their £90,000 cash injection for 15% of the business undervalued the company and therefore it could be viewed that Peter and Deborah were taking advantage of an already established business in which they had also made nil contribution.”

I get the feeling the dragons are playing around with pocket change for fun, they get a kick out of extracting as much value for at little as possible, like a poker player.
And they always want 30-50% of your business regardless of the return on their investment.
90k for 15% of a business that makes 400k a year in profit is a bold offer to say the least
Hmm yes the contract print would be so bold the page would be black.
His main business with a net profit of £395k probably had EBITDA of £500k. That is a very strong margin. His main business alone probably has an enterprise value of £5m so by offering up 15% for £90k the dragons bought in at a value of £300k I.e. less than 10% of the actual value of the company. If this deal went through, he’s been fleeced! :(
I was gonna say, Touker actually gave him the best deal: on a weighted average 40% of a company that has sold nothing so far has no impact on the 10% offered on the other business.
Watching these can teach you a lot if you pay close attention

Although it's many years since I've cycled, I do like that product. One of the things that can be troublesome is indicating with an arm out and braking simultaneously. Ity usually means that you can't brake in the way you might wish to and have to put the focus on rear OR front brake depending which way you wish to turn.

There are many similar systems now, probably cheaper.
When they say things like "You're a great inventor" but don't think this one is good, I'd like to see more negotiations on his potential future products. Because you know a guy like this will invent more things, or they could even point him at problems to resolve.

Back in the late 50's/early 60's I bought an indicator thingy for my push bike, which was just a bar with an orange light each end which was fixed onto the seat post, with the switch on the handle bars for clicking left/right and center for off.
It wasn't that good as most motorists didn't see my indicating left/right, and some close shaves were had because I relied on that rather than sticking out an arm to indicate.....:)
I loved how they didn’t even hear almost anything about the other business, 1.4M turnover and 390k net profit was an instant investment opportunity, and their evaluation of the business was only 600k with their offer
