  • Today we start work on a part converted Ford Transit and install the basic 12v Electrics. Since this camper is for a young family and mainly for weekends and short holidays a basic 12v electrics system is being installed.

    That -ve cable to the bodywork should be connected with at least an M6 bolt with Nyloc Karl! That self drilling screw could vibrate loose!! ;-)

      True but took customers considerations into account with this usually it would have been a rivnut and a bolt

    Karl, I really think that you’ve fused the VSR on the incorrect side. You’ve basically double fused a cable. The VSR is not protected from or by the battery.

      I just had to check myself then lol I have made sure they are both fused by each battery. The one on the board may have been a bit confusing in my explanation.

    Well done. Why two fuses at the positive site? Greatings from Holland

      It is recommended for the cable on the positive close to each battery

    well explained and easy to follow..could i use the aux battery under the driver seat as a leisure battery ?..or do i need an extra battery in back as a leisure battery ?..

      I would use a seperate battery from your cans system definitely.

    hi could you tell me the two red positives you joined together off the back of the board to go to leisure battery I presume thank you in advance for your reply

    • @BuiltnotBoughtCampers
      @BuiltnotBoughtCampers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      one of the positives is from the output of the fuse from the split charge relay as one fuse goes by the leisure battery and one fuse goes by the stater battery.
      The other positive goes between the leisure battery and the isolator to the main leisure electrics.

    Hi just a quick question what have you put on the roof at the back of the vivaro?
