That's because this is NOT a hard reset. This guy has no clue what a HARD RESET is, and has instead erroneously called a SOFT REBOOT a HARD RESET even though it's something comepletly different.
Then you may need to actually do a real hard reset instead of a soft reboot which is what this guy has just demonstrated and erroneously called a hard reset.

Nope it wasn't something you were doing. I got a sense and hated it too. I had no idea that they were no longer letting us tell the device when we were going to sleep like we could do with the original Fitbit flex. Now they all use a combination of the sensors such as body temp, oxygen saturation, movement, etc, and if your body doesn't conform to what they have decided is a state of being asleep then it won't register you as being asleep. The whole time I had mine it would say I went to sleep 3 to 5 hours after I actually went to sleep, and say I woke up 3 to 5 hours before I actually woke up.

A HARD RESET means the device is comepletly wiped of all user data, including any security settings like a pin, any downloaded or installed clocks, absolutely everything is gone.

That is not a hard reset, that is a hard reboot. Reset implies The Watch will be reset to out of the box experience

This isn't a hard reset...
Skip to 0:35 seconds for the answer... or just press and hold the one button on the watch for like 20-30 seconds until the screen goes black.

What if it won't charge and the only thing it does it's show a battery looking thing with 0%... But I can at least see that....

It says you have to sleep with it for 5 consecutive days before it will properly track your sleep, but glad you got something you prefer better
