Fitbit Sense bootloop / restart problem

  • This is a 1 month old Fitbit Sense watch with the bootloop issue. Prior to this occurring it was paired to a Google Pixel 7. There were no 3rd party apps or watchfaces installed on it. It has never gotten wet. If you are experiencing this issue, I encourage you to report it to Fitbit's customer service. This is the second Sense with this same issue. The first was approximately 8 months old.

I had the same issue with two FitBit Sense 2 watches - The solution I found was switching to Apple Watch :)

Funny because if you google Apple watch stuck restarting you'll see people having the same problem.

Same - I spoke to Fitbit multiple times and they will not honor the product after the warranty period. This is our 3rd replacement through multiple models and again we're only offered another discount code for a new one. I understand warranty issues from wear and tear, damage, or battery death but this is strictly from a software issue and so I'm completely done with using a fitbit.

just goes to show fitbit has stupid software engineers.

After about 50 attempts at pressing the button and holding it for 10 seconds I held the button down for about 20 seconds or more and it shut down completely and worked! Then I had to resync via the Fitbit app

After several years and several models of Fitbits with nearly every model having eventual problems, I've decided to switch to Garmin. The continued issues that Fitbit has habitually had with nearly every model over the years is unacceptable. It's a shame their development team can't do a better job of developing a more reliable device and or software.

My Fitbit Sense appears to be stuck in this boot loop. No pattern of long pressing the button works. I couldn't even fully drain the battery over 3 days. It maintains just enough power to show it has 0% battery. I have never had a Fitbit product that didn't have premature failure or some issue. I will not be buying any more Fitbit products. These devices are too expensive to have to be replaced every other year. Disappointed for the last time.😞

Fix is here: 1st on your phone need to disconnect it from the bluetooth and forget then then on the app delete your fitbit device then unistall and reintall again make it cache and data clear 2nd on your watch you need to long press the power for ten seconds once the logo appear again long press again for 8 seconds when the logo appear again long press until the logo disappear once it will black screen long press again till the logo appear then release it wait for 30 sec and it will bootup and then you can setup your device again. This procedure works on me I hope it will work to your fitbit too.

I tried it 6 times. Did not work. When I contacted support they said my device was not on my account and offered nothing.

On the first 10 second long press, do you just let it go after 10 seconds or do you wait for the logo to appear again before you let it go?

This doesn't work because the constant boot loop is too short for there to be enough time to start the factory reset. I just got off chat support with customer service. This is the second watch in 2 years of having it. Same problem both times. Its really bad.

@@bobcrosby2885 That didn't work for me either. I was ready to give up and have customer service send me a new watch, but the night before I randomly pressed the button several times for about a minute while watching TV and it finally booted up. I have no idea what sequence worked. I removed all nonfitbit clocks from my gallery, so I hope the problem doesn't resurface.

Same Here with versa 3. And if connecting USB to PC and Connecting to serial monitor, I'm getting:
[init ] Checking filesystems due to previous fault/failure
][init ] ERROR: Unable to create datalogger, consider fs format
Holding side button after reboot is not helping at all.
Can't find a way to Flash Firmware over USB.

You might have to find a way to factory format it have you tried factory formatting this my Versa 3 has lasted a whole year perfectly fine.
