Smart summon is cool and works most times but there’s definitely issues. One big one is sometimes you’re in an actual parking lot like a Walmart etc. and it works and then decides to stop working because it feels it’s a public street. So when this happened to me a row of cars were behind my Tesla and my toddler and I had to walk over to it and get in the car. People looked pissed and confused.

I can honestly say watching this on TH-cam doesn’t do this feature justice!!! I tried this with my free trial two weeks ago and it literally blew my mind and made me literally say WTF !!! When you see your car come to you in real life with no driver it is so mind boggling you can’t perceive what you just witnessed 😂😂. It is truly amazing technology. This is why I love my Tesla and for the minimalist design. I grew up in the ‘80s and my favorite show was Knight Rider. I always wanted “ KITT “. Well I named my car “ KITT “ and I basically have what I wanted as a kid. A car that can drive itself literally. My lock sound is KITT’s scanner 😊. We live in truly amazing times.

I remember hear about smart summon and it hit a park car. Now telling the insurance company who was driving when she smart summon. The insurance had no idea what to put down because no one was driving.

I think you were a bit generous with your scoring. I tried A.S.S. at my local grocery store and was impressed. It pulled out of the parking space, drove up to the lane next to the front of the store, waited for a car and a pedestrian and then turned around and came to me. Pretty cool, but there is NO WAY I'd used it at Costco except after business hours.

Tried it once at Home Depot in my Tesla MYP (2024, hw4). First time trying it and it took about 10 seconds for the connection setup. As soon as that was complete it came right over. It was strange to watch lol
REMINDER: the Tesla will stop the moment you let go. I keep seeing reviewers continue to hold the button, forcing the Tesla to inch forward, causing confusion with the other drivers, which causes them to pause, which causes more confusion .... LET GO ... and let the other car go ;)

In real life driving, there is always some unplanned anomaly to F things up. It’s just the way it is.
Perfect example, when you’re looking for a parking space when you pull into a parking lot, you can never find one and have to do multiple passes. However, when you’re leaving a parking lot, it never fails that either the person directly behind you or right next to you is pulling out exactly the same time that you are.
Coughlin’s Law: the Bastards are always out to get you.

You do know car are meant to be driven, it's not an RC car. This why people don't want EVs, and its a throwaway item, like, Phones, Vapes, etc
Can imagine if your kids got hold of your phone and started trying to do this. SMH
Also don't say it couldn't happen, kids get into everythin.

    • @jbhorner

@ I’ve always found this particular creator to have balanced content. For both FSD and ASS, I don’t think a creator needs to add drama; the car provides that on its own. I was using FSD last Friday to exit a parking lot. Instead of proceeding directly to the egress point, it did a complete loop around the parking lot. It exited at a different egress point and the proceeded to a path that required a U-turn-which could have easily been avoided if it had just taken the original exit. And, the icing on the cake was when it decided it was okay to attempt the U-turn in front of oncoming traffic. Needless to say I intervened. In the two ASS instances I personally tried, it made really bad choices.

Actually, the car is doing the safe thing: stopping at stop signs, and such. Humans are the issue, honking at someone for "taking too long" screams entitlement. Be patient, be better. I'll be glad when FSD is mandated on all vehicles.
