I’ve been looking for an all around boat that I can waterski behind and my grandson (yes that’s right I said grandson) can learn how to wakeboard behind. I was looking at the Ski Nautique 200. I thought would be ok considering it can take on ballast for trick skiing and it has a hydrofoil type system that creates a big wake and that’ll work well for my grandson being a beginner and all. But one day down the road he’ll need something that can do more and I’ll have to get another boat that’s bigger and more versatile. So I may as well go ahead and get one that’ll do it all so this is the boat I’m looking for I believe, wouldn’t you agree?
GS22 is still one of my favorite all around boats, so yes, I think this would be a good ride for your family. Love that you're being intentional with creating opportunities for great moments and memories!
It's crazy to hear that he hasn't pulled a barefooter or been on double skis for over a decade. The thing about watersports that I find fun, personally, is the experimentation of everything. On our boat, we do everything (but nothing well, haha). I hope the competition doesn't take the fun out of the lake.
We ran that boat hard for years, then upgraded to a new one in 91. I sold ol' faithful to a buddy who ran it for another 15 years before he sold it. The boat is still going with it's third owner who I met during the transaction. Crazy tough boats.@@Shaun.Murray
@shaun.murray i love your videos...i only wish i had more time to watch them all... In 2020 we upgraded from an 05 SV-211 to a 19 GS22... and we love it!! My question here is when you made this video did you have a spotter in the boat? Or did you compensate by adding a bit of water on the ballast?... Our SV-211 was perfectly flat with only a driver, but the Gs in need to add water to keep it flat for skiing.... it's this normal? Thanks
For different parts of the video we had a spotter and sometimes didn't. If there's no spotter, which we don't have to have in FL if you have a mirror, I use "Ballast Shift", which is a setting on your ballast page. It allows you to move weight in 50 lb increments left or right. The idea is to have even wakes on both sides. If a wake has more white wash than the other move "weight towards the wash". You can find me talking about that in this video... th-cam.com/video/WMd0-aJeLN8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G1mlgErnEEGGzdqf
@shaun.murray Ok... great...thank you for the info... would you put any weight up front in belly or only in the back? Next question... right now I'm skiing 15off @34mph, and have been for several years(no course)......would you recommend shortening the line as a next step, or increasing speed? Ty Shaun!
Appreciate the comment Josh. In my opinion, he took a way harder cut at those wakes that I would've and harder than he originally said he would. He said he was just gonna throw some turns but wouldn't go through the wakes. Definitely took some cuts through em and said he could run the course behind it. Just how short did he say? I'll have to possibly make another video 😊
Give me a call if you need an average Joe to assist with a barefoot review of the GS22. We can do long-line deep water starts and some wake crosses and report on how soft/turbulent the wake is. We can also show off one-foot if it’s fast enough, can it do 40 mph? Currently foot’n behind a GS20.
@@Shaun.Murray Hi Shaun, we met at the Colorado Boat Show a couple of times. We're on Milton Reservoir in Colorado, the same lake Action Water Sports demos the new Natiques on. My GS20 tops out around 39.5 with the factory 1235 prop.
Man I wish I could barefoot in the 30s, I have to bump to 40s now 😖 next time take the record holder TUBING, the real challenge 🤪Death spirallllll jkjk
DOUBLE UPS ON COMBOS 😂😂😂 you crazy man!!!
Send it 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
*A little John Candy there off the dock! Way to go! Most likely only older generations will understand this comment.*
😂 so many John Candy quotes come to mind now!
@@Shaun.Murray one of the greatest movies by one of the greatest actors to ever live.

Another great option is a Sanger 21 foot.
It has a traditional hull that skis and wakeboards well.
As far as I know, she's still in the Vancouver area. And yes it did have the rope rub rail. A true classic.
Favorite boat
Love the eagle life jacket my neighbor started the company.
OMG and you are gonna send this lovely boat straight to my house!?!?! You are so kind Shaun ;) haha
Seriously though, this boat looks great
Love the double up on the combo’s !
Honestly wanna go hit more!
@@Shaun.Murray you may need a pair of jump skis if you decide to do some off the Paragon!
🤔
that is a sick boat! 🔥🔥

Same thing for me! All about the variety of fun. Like this th-cam.com/play/PLzW7auimACTrWKG0pj3TjEZdc8oO0RmNG.html
That's still a smaller wake than my first Ski Nautique in 1979... It used to be hit the wake and edge change in the air....
79! Pretty sure that's got the classic look w the rope in the rub rail. Sick!

Would love to see you do the same on a GS20, is that boat a bit more slalom friendly - cheers
Not sure but one would assume
Yes - That's the video I want to see as well. How about it Shaun?
@@yepkc3068 would have to get my hands on one
I had to free ski @ 12m to avoid the concrete like bump
What is the ski wake difference between the 20' and 22', and how does the GS compare to the Malibu 20VTX
Not sure about those parameters or the Malibu. Someone else might be able to chime in though
As a waterskier, that was not convincing! He definitely took those wakes easy.
