We bought our first Ski Nautique back in 1980. We have loved and recommended their boats for the last 46 years. Not only the best boats on the planet, but a wonderful company to deal with in the rare case an issue arrises. There are not many companies I wholly endorse, but this is one of them. (It actually might be the only one at this point).
We bought a GS22 2 years ago after Shaun recommended it to us during a OWC wakeboarding lesson. WE absolutely love it! Great boat that actually does it all. We had a wakesetter VTX before and it was a good multipurpose boat but not nearly as good as our GS22. We will be keeping our GS22 for a long time!
Growing up and living in Belle Isle / Pine Castle would see the boats coming from factory to be tested in Lake Conway, Correct Craft / Nautique make boats to stand test of time . My family has Red and White 1989 SN 2001 which has been within my wife’s family since 1990. It’s a classic, We get a lot of head turns and waves when out on lake!
How do the older models of the GS22 compare to the current model in regards to surf wave and ski waves? From what I can find it’s 2016-2019, 2020-2022 and 2023-2024. I’ve heard the 2020 was a big improvement on the surf wave. It there another leap or is it relatively the same? Thanks for any advice.
Would love to say that I could give you some honest advice but I haven't spent enough time in any of them to really evaluate. Maybe someone else can jump in here?
Looking to buy a gs24 2018 model second hand and just wanting to know your thoughts on the wake board wake and how it compares to a g series? Obviously it’s older than this model but still curious on your thoughts. Big fans from Australia! 🤟
Good question but I'm not sure on the 2018 model bc it's a different hull and haven't really spent much time in it to give you an honest review. But thanks for stoppin by and watchin from down in Oz!
Would love to see a multi sport 20 or 21. Do a lot of beginner skiing for guests and need smaller wakes at slower speeds too. The GS seems geared for slalom speeds
There's no doubt that Jake is the best boat out there. Had a super air Natique in 2004 absolutely loved it. I would love to buy a new air Natique, but the price is absolutely ridiculous.
First! Edit: That boat is super sick! Been waiting for a decent true crossover that I can actually slalom behind AND do a little surfing/wakeboarding! What is your opinion on the GS20 vs 22? Also - you still doing Cameos? Couldn't find you on the site today.
I've been looking at boats, and I did a demo of a GS22. It had a beautiful ski wake... way better than any of the other boats I looked at. The biggest problem I had was storage... there is virtually no storage area that can fit waterskis! This seems like a huge design flaw in a boat that is intended to be good for skiing. You can get one, maybe two skis in the rear right storage if you sacrifice the cooler, but it's really something that Nautique should have thought out better.
I just moved from the 22' model GS22 to the 24' model and couldn't agree with you more. The previous model had the batteries in the middle of the seating and not right back at the stern, so you could get skis in on the port side quite comfortably. In saying that, we are still able to get a couple of slaloms in on the starboard side even with the cooler in. Another thing I noticed on this new model is the interior isn't as nice as the previous, especially the observers seat. It's thinner, flatter and just plainer. Feels much cheaper. Stern thruster though makes it all worth it! I reckon it's way better on fuel than the previous model too.
Is the storage in the GS22 as bad as it looks or is there enough storage for people who don’t live on a lake and go out for the day? ie life jackets, towels, cloths (when jumping in), food and beverages. Can’t really tell from the video but the cooler looks more like a lunch cooler than a larger one. Also why is the subwoofer in a storage compartment? Seem like it would be muffled if things are stored in it.

Love the feedback on the recommendation Paul!
Im glad to see they added the reversible seat in the GS models. Loved this layout in my 210.

Love it Matthew! And thanks for watchin!

Great review as usual, Shaun!
Thanks Shima!
Let’s go Shaun Murray!
Seems like the GS got a lot bigger for 2024. It kind of looks like a G now if you don't look closely.

Got the FIRST! 👊🏼 I haven't spent much time in the GS20 so can't say but I imagine the ski wake is a little smaller as well as the surf wave.

Crazy you bring that up! I was gonna cover Polo progression in the video but ran out of ti
Lezz gooo🔥
Cool boat. Will stick with my 80’s-90’s ski boats though
How does the 2024 GS22 or GS24 perform for wake surfing?
200k??
More video on actual water skiing, wake boarding and surfing would be more helpful.

Very true
Second hand Nautiques are the way to go.
They hold their value very well
