Simply press lightly on the barrel and the ink won’t be so juicy. I’ve only pressed the barrel once and that was to startup the brush. It’s kept a nice consistent flow so far. I enjoy it for the initial drawing of nice thin lines. Nice brush. Thanks for the demo
Hmmmm. The Pentel pen I use is a medium. I’ve used it with the ink that comes with it, and with Dr Ph Martin’s Black Star Matte India Ink and they both dry very quickly.

Do you wash the brush after each use like a paintbrush or just cap it?
I just cap it.
I have A Pentel Extra Fine Brush Pen, and the ink doesn't dry as quickly. Am I using the wrong kind of pen with the wrong kind of ink?

The twisting to the opposite direction it's a matter of safety, most watercolor brushes do the same, it's not a cultural or idiosincratic thing :)
