One thing you probably didnt notice. You have bought 2 different products. Gray one is FP5F (where last letter stands for thickens F=fine) that uses XFR ink - highly pigmented and basically the best of the best in picket brush industry And black barrel one is FL2FL which uses water based ink. Outside Japan it's a part of color series.
i have the larger version(bigger bristle). i like the way the pen feels but the ink, or bristles, didnt do what i was expecting. strokes have a very streaky drybrush-ish look that i dont like. im guessing that it's more for filling in shapes with ink than it is for linework. i'll probably buy the fine tip you were using. it looks more like what i was expecting.
Thanks for this video, I just got one! I noticed when I first started using mine, it seemed like the ink coming out was considerably lighter, like it was watered down. Later, as I used it more, it darkened up to black. Is that normal, has anyone else experienced that? I wonder if I should have shaken up the pen before I started using it?

@@ryuga2852 what I mean is that the waterproof pen ink wont fade or smudge when water is used on it .this is useful if u need to use watercolor or any water based midium on it. Also u to have a good life
Did you remove red ring and screw it back to the brush part?? I removed it but it's so hard to put it back in. I wanted to see how you did that part but you totally skipped that part. I tried to screw it and force back into it but it's just not going there.
Can you speak/understand Spanish? This guy says he uses Rotring ink for the colorbrush (in Spanish), and has no problems with it: th-cam.com/video/xmJmbvlURRM/w-d-xo.html This other guy recommends against india ink (tinta china), and gives some different recommendations (in English): th-cam.com/video/YZ3gAhZZ3_Q/w-d-xo.html India ink is pigment based and has gum in it. It clogs fountain pens. I believe rapidograph Rotring ink has finer particles than regular india ink, not good enough for fountain pens, but maybe good enough for these brushpens. I'd try it, because I haven't seen anyone saying they tried and india ink actually clogged their brush. The only person I saw who says he tried, said it works. What's the worst that could happen? I bet you can wash it easily if it clogs, and just lose some ink and time in the process. [edit] PS: if it's too think and doesn't flow, you can always add some drops of water to it.
I can't get the reservoir to fill correctly. I have to squeeze it harder, and then ink splashes out from the tip. I removed the red ring but it feels like there is something blocking the ink.
Thanks for this demo! I’m looking to get one of these pens because they’re cheaper than the pentel pocket brush pens. There aren’t a lot reviewing these one exactly though. I’ve only started using brush pens this inktober with the micron ones. They give such nice and dynamic lines :) I’m more convinced now to order my own haha! Thanks again for the review c:

after the red ring is off, how do you manage to screw the pen top back into the cartridge part. i cannot get mine to screw all the way in!
it should go on if you press/screw the end on.
