Duude I immediately thought to myself “I wonder if steveokinevo is watching this video” and right away I saw your comment hahaha. Love you man, I’m not a pilot but I watch you and citationmax for two of my favorite airplanes of props and jets
Haha well, thank you very much for your thoughts, sir! I’ve no doubt your opinion will be highly valued by many (I know a lot of simmers were looking forward to the 850 because they have enjoyed your adventures in the aircraft so much). I do hope that the job hunt is going well. My pleasure on the video! Cheers for stopping by and all the best : )
I think this is the most epic unexpected comment I’ve seen to see steevokineevo commenting on the msfs TBM! This made my night! Can’t get any higher recommendation than that for a TBM!
I bought this last night! I was caught off guard by how awesome the flight dynamics are! I didn't remember you mentioning them very much. I LOVE this plane! It flies like an A2A plane, easy on the frames like a Black Box plane. (Not Black Square). I'm addicted to it! It behaved exactly like it did in those older flight chops videos.
Hello Jacob, I’m really glad you’re enjoying the TBM! It is indeed an excellent addon (my favourite in fact, of the recent single-engine turboprop “trifecta”). The product actually got a major update, not long after it was released / I reviewed it. One major aspect of the update, was an overhaul to the flight model haha (at release, the flight model was decent but, nothing particularly special). It’s great to hear that the flight model improvements have paid off; I haven’t had a chance to fly the TBM again since but, would certainly like to give the aircraft another go. Happy flying and all the best! : )
Thank you very much dpc! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video, even more so if you found it useful as well. I certainly can’t claim to an expert when it comes to the TBM but, hopefully the procedures as I ran them, are enough to get you off to a flying start. My absolute pleasure! Happy flying and all the best : )
Another great video. I really love your 'by the numbers' presentations. So thorough, clear & comprehensive & as always, beautifully executed. Excellent review in another excellent plane. New Zealand scenery never disappoints, either. Have you thought about trying the Canadian Rockies? There is some equally amazing scenery there, too. However, wherever you fly, I'm just happy you take us along with you. Thanks for all your hard work. Cheers.
Thank you very much once again for the kind words AS and indeed, for the suggestion - both are very much appreciated! I have recorded a couple of flights in Canada, one of which was in the Canadian Rockies. It’s a beautiful part of the world for sure and I should head back there again (it’s just a little bit of a shame that the MSFS satellite imagery is rather “hit and miss” in that part of the world). Either way, I will certainly keep the Rockies in mind for any future outings : ) Cheers and a pleasure as always!
This may sound sacrilegious but, nothing really beats steam gauges for me. Compared to the glass panel it is just so much easier to see readouts on the steam gauges. I like how the Turbine temp gauge is a hybrid digital/analog gauge. I kind of think steam gauges should be for airspeed, altitude, and engine monitoring, and the navigation being on the glass. (Gyro instruments are really on their way out, and eliminating the vacuum system is a positive in this mechanic's mind). As to this model....really nice. The STock TBM is one of my go tos, but I could see this black square over riding that. Beautiful scenery as well. Nicely done review and video as usual ITBS.
Haha, I think many simmers would agree with you Pythos and Black Square must concur, as their addons seem to be selling like hot cakes ; ) In the real-world, if I was in busy airspace or poor weather, I’d take a glass screen any day of the week but, under more leisurely circumstances and certainly in the sim, I much prefer steam gauges as they just have so much more character and somehow offer a more “visceral” flying experience. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for your thoughts once again : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations If I had a choice, I'd definitely choose a glass cockpit IRL too. But in flights sims I find that glass avionics tend to be tedious to interact with, and harder to read (screen inside a screen, small text, no big needle to reference at a glance, easy to misclick controls). The amount of glass cockpits in default aircraft is easily one of my biggest gripes with FS 2020 XD
I feel like this cockpit it the perfect balance of steam and glass. Not stone age primitive but space age either. A really nice balance, and very easy to work with in VR which a lot of the pure steam gauges are not.
Great stuff as always coming from my favourite pilot on TH-cam. The amount of work you put in these video productions shows you have an eye for cinema ;) Cheers and take care!
Thank you very much indeed for the kind words Pedro, very much appreciated and I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content! Haha, as much as I enjoy the simming, I really started to enjoy the “artistic” aspect of creating these videos also - I’m glad that comes across : ) I hope you had a great weekend. Many thanks again and all the best!
Love this plane. Had a great first flight this morning. You are right about the TBM tending to float. I did a go around on the first attempt on a short strip.
I’m really glad you’ve been enjoying the TBM, Schteve! I see that Black Square have overhauled the 850’s flight model somewhat (with their first update); I haven’t had a chance to see whether or not the floating tendency has been corrected but, it’s great to see the dev continuing to work on the aircraft, at any rate. Happy flying and all the best! : )
I assumed the A2A Comanche was my final GA purchase. Glad I was wrong. This one hits all of my sweet spots. Fly as an airliner or GA. All weather. Extremely detailed system and failure simulation. Steam instruments, but still modern operation. Workload - not boring, no stress Looking forward to your future flights with TBM. I am sure you will do them..
I’m glad you’re enjoying the TBM, Øystein! There’s no doubt the Comanche is still something special but, it’s also nice to break away from the SEP flying occasionally ; ) I certainly plan on doing some more flights with the 850, especially since the flight model has been overhauled. The trouble is, now I have an H160 to look at and I’d quite like to try the LVFR A330 also. . . there’s never enough time in the day XD Happy flying once again, sir! : )
Great to see another NZ setting for your review with the NZA scenery to boot! You were brave making that visual approach into NZMC in those conditions, well done on pulling it off!
Haha well, I certainly wouldn’t be that brave in the real world but, therein lies half the fun of the sim! ; ) I’m really glad you enjoyed another spot of virtual NZ. I actually just finished recording another video, this time arriving into Auckland (from Oz); I’m wondering at what point I can expect my virtual NZ citizenship haha? Many thanks as always, sir! Blue skies : )
I really wish they do an overhaul on the previous black square aircraft. Although they are great, I would love to get a version of the King Air that's completely custom and not relying on the default exterior model.
Another great video. Well done. Looking forward to your next. Remember the 850-mode which can be selected with the flaps-lever. It allows for 120% torque in the climb and int the cruise. Have a nice day.
Thanks very much Kim, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, I didn’t really become familiar with the 850-mode until after recording the flight. I still find it somewhat baffling, that the engine is essentially de-rated during the takeoff, but there you go haha. . . Cheers and likewise - have a great day! : )
it should have a tone doot-doot when approaching altitude. Watching Stevo. If you really want an addict to the tbm. The company recently put the aircraft up for sale. but theirs plenty of binge watching. he flew the 850 hopefully he finds another job flying the tbm.
Hello Mark, I seem to recall that I did get an altitude alert on some occasions, but then not on others. I don’t know if that’s a question of mode selection, or whether it’s a bug that needs ironing out. Steve-o’s channel is great! I’m sure he’ll come good and land on his feet somewhere else : ) Cheers, all the best!
Thank you very much Kay, I’m glad you enjoyed it! My pleasure; there’s nothing worse than watching the video back, only to find that it’s too dark to make out much of what’s going on haha (TH-cam tends to exacerbate the problem, as it tends to darken uploaded content also). Cheers and all the best! : )
GREAT airport, Wonderful airplane and Supurb Content Provider. This is a beautiful add on but $42US it will not be for everybody. That really is an exceptional flight, the airports and the weather really put the pilot and the plane through it's paces. Well Done! !! !!!
Many thanks again, Mark! Black Square and NZA made it far too easy for me on this one (with both addons being absolutely superb) haha. I’m really glad you enjoyed the flight, I must say that I certainly did also (I’m sure that came across in the video)! I hope you had a great weekend. Thanks again for watching! Cheers : )
Beautiful aircraft! I rarely go through lengthy startup procedures because 7 times out of 10, I get up in the air, not even to cruise altitude and I'm like, "Ehh, changed my mind, I don't like the scenery here." and I end up going back to the main menu and starting over somewhere else.
If you’re a fan of the TBM, I’m sure you’ll have a great time with this one, Tom! Of the single-engine turboprops that have recently arrived in MSFS (the TBM 850, FSR 500 and the SWS PC-12), the 850 is my favourite overall : ) Happy flying and all the best!
Thanks@@IntotheBlueSimulations I was trying to decide between the 3 and this video and your opinion sealed it. Think I'll get this one and the Learjet and hold off on the PC-12 and FSR for a bit
Cheers, Dave. Yeah, the PC-12 still needs some work (at least it did when I last flew it - a couple of updates ago) and the FSR500, whilst excellent, has the glass cockpit (which I don’t enjoy quite as much). The 850 is superb and the Learjet, whilst still requiring some work, is very enjoyable to operate. Happy flying and all the best! : )
Thanks very much HF, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! The TBM is indeed a very nice addon; if you do end up picking the aircraft up, I really hope you have fun : ) Many thanks and all the best!
Bought it yesterday and did few flights already. I fully agree with the mostly positive feedback I can read all around. For me it is not making the situation easy, cause I fly with FSEconomy, and there the highest pay is from the VIP jobs with 7-8 pax on range 1000-1500nm. The best plane for this is the PC-12. I have the one from Carenado, but it's really not a good model, so I've been flying default TBM 930 while waiting for the PC-12 from SWS. So I was afraid, that I'll be struggling with selection, like "PC-12 flight will make more money, but I'd rather fly TMB850 cause it's more fun and joy to fly.". The issue resolved itself quite quickly, because the TMB-850 is (on top of all the positives) extremely well optimized!!! I can fly it at my locked 40fps on ultra settings even in high density areas, where the default TBM-930 was getting 30ish, and poorly optimized Carenado PC-12 was dropping bellow 20, making landings a private hell experience :-D ... so it's set - I'll use the SWS PC-12 (once it's out) for long VIP hauls, mixing it with TBM for short to medium hops in high population density areas with fewer pax (so less FSE income), but just for the pure enjoyment of the city and large airports scenery ;-)
Haha well, I’m glad you’ve come to an enjoyable compromise, matyxcz. You might not get rich quite as quickly, but at least you’ll have fun during the grind ; ) Happy flying and all the best! : )
Hello sir from Seattle Great video as always I just picked this AC up over the weekend and it is very impressive. I am a sucker for steam plus modern avionics and black square has done a nice job blending both. The immersion in to the sim is also very nicely done Still have fingers crossed for the A2A spit Mk1 to be making g a future debut and review 😉 Cheers
Hello Andy, I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the TBM thus far (understandably so)! Black square have indeed done a very nice job with the aircraft, all the more so after the recent update I should imagine (I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet) and as you say, the 850 offers a very nice balance between the old and the new. Haha well, no sign of an A2A Spit on the horizon just yet but, I am very tempted to take a look at the Flight Replicas MKI. . . Cheers, sir! All the best : )
It really doesn't get much better! That is the keyword. And it applies to both the Black Square TBM 850 add-on and his reviews. A beautiful flight. And to make it perfect, one that starts in Milford Sound, New Zealand. One of my favorite airports of the (virtual) world. The TBM 850 with analog old school cockpit is - as you can see in this video - certainly one of the most interesting European general aviation aircraft. Produced in France, the TBM 850 is a single-engine, high-performance turboprop aircraft, a further development of the successful TBM 700 with a pressurized cabin and retractable landing gear. Beginning with the 2008 model, the TBM 850 has been equipped with the Garmin G1000 integrated flight deck as standard equipment. With Black Square's TBM 850, you get one of the most technically advanced aircraft simulations for Microsoft Flight Simulator with nearly 100 possible failures, including new turbine engine failures, hot-swappable radio configurations, and the most advanced pressure and cabin temperature simulations in MSFS. I am very excited to see his review of the announced TFDi Design MD-11. From what I know of him, there will be such a review. The MD-11. The last Trijet. Who can resist such an add-on?
Thank you very much for the kind words, Peter! I will certainly be taking a look at the MD-11 when the time comes (as you say, who can resist a tri-jet!) though, I might be a bit “behind the curve” on that one, as I elected not to “pre-order” the addon. Nevertheless, as and when TFDI see fit to release the final product, you can be sure I’ll be looking to cover the addon ; ) Much appreciated, all the best!
Haha, well thanks very much Dennis! I do hope you enjoyed the video and if you did end up picking up the TBM, I hope you’re having fun with the aircraft. My pleasure and all the best : )
Hi Daniel, The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR. I added in the footstep sounds during the editing process. FS Realistic does offer up a somewhat similar functionality (th-cam.com/video/6k7ZA-AGA7M/w-d-xo.html), though it could certainly still use some improvement. At some point, apparently Asobo will be adding in a native first-person experience to the sim. I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulationsah thanks. I got my hopes up it was just a free mod or something. Props to taking the time and effort to add in footsteps in editing! 😆👏🏼
Haha, well thanks very much SN! I’m sure there weren’t too many surprises re my thoughts on the TBM ; ) I do hope you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and all the best : )
I’ve spent quite a few hours in this plane since yesterday. Completing multiple flights. I just can’t say how impressive this aircraft is. It’s going to be awhile before someone outdoes this one
@@nick-dm3if ….guess that depends on one’s expectations. I dont expect things to be perfect in a world of imperfection. These guys did an amazing job creating a simulation of this aircraft for the average simmer. Personally, its one of my absolute favorite planes to day, along with the fenix a320.
So on a side note, is there any reason why TBM wouldnt just have the inertial separator on for every taxi and take off no matter the location? Seems that protecting the engine would a good procedure.
Good question, there are a few reasons why the TBM doesn't just have the inertial separator on for every taxi and takeoff: Namely, fuel economy: The inertial separator uses some fuel to operate, so it's more fuel-efficient to only have it on when it's needed. Also, wear and tear: The inertial separator is a mechanical device, so it wears and tears more when it's running. Again, noise: The inertial separator can make a bit of noise, so it's more pleasant for the passengers and crew to have it off when it's not needed. In general, the risk of foreign object damage (FOD) to the engine is highest during taxi and takeoff, and during descent and landing. This is because the aircraft is moving slowly and close to the ground, where there is more debris and other objects that could be ingested into the engine. However, the risk of FOD is also affected by the environment in which the aircraft is operating. For example, if the aircraft is operating at a remote airport with a gravel runway, the risk of FOD is higher than if it is operating at a major airport with a paved runway. For this reason, the TBM Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) does recommend that the inertial separator be turned on for taxi and takeoff, and again during descent and landing. However, the POH also allows the pilot to use their judgment and turn the inertial separator off if they believe that the risk of FOD is low.
I've seen a couple TBM pilots discussing this elsewhere, and for one of them, it was indeed a company-mandated procedure to have the inertial separator on during any and all ground operations.
Thanks very much for offering up the detailed info, Scott! Always great to hear from those familiar with the aircraft. Much appreciated and all the best : )
I think that’s a very fair point, Yo! (I would love to see a custom soundset - perhaps we’ll at least get one from FTSim). I haven’t tried the TBM’s updated flight model yet, but that was the other “weaker” aspect of the addon for me, so it’s great to see that Black Square have revisited it. My absolute pleasure on the video! Thanks very much for watching and all the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thanks a lot mate 🙏🏽 I believe the updated flight model is much closer now. Like many others, your videos are my ‘go to’ as they’re expertly crafted, interesting and above all, super enjoyable. Thanks for enriching our community. Take care
Hello Axier, I’m guessing you’re perhaps playing with a keyboard? That’s not a setup that I’m really familiar with; I don’t know whether there is an option available such as you’ve described, I think it’s fair to say that the sim is really designed to be flown with axis controls (so a simple gamepad, or better). I did have a quick look online for you but, couldn’t come up with anything helpful I’m afraid. Perhaps you might have more luck over on the MSFS forums? Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best! : )
Hello Gillik, I record my flights using this 3rd party recording tool (flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder). I then have to replay and re-record the additional shots (external views, wing views etc) that I want for the video. I hope that helps? All the best : )
Hello again Gillik, Yes, it’s the same for me. Unfortunately, the recorder doesn’t work flawlessly with all 3rd party addons; you basically have to configure the aircraft as you want it for that particular shot (flaps, engines running, spoilers armed etc) and then replay the recorded track. That’s what I’ve been doing at any rate. I hope that clarifies things. Cheers : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Have you tried the SF50 jet from FlightFX ? Wow. Must bectge most automated aircraftcever made. But it's fab for sight seeing. I'm currently doing a RTW in it.
Hi there, what do you use or do to flow so easily around the cockpit and how do you get out the plane for a walk around? I'm relatively new to MSFS so this is all new to me sorry.
Hi Craig, The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR (which also accounts for the “flowing” head movements). I added in the footstep sounds during the editing process. FS Realistic does offer up a somewhat similar functionality (th-cam.com/video/6k7ZA-AGA7M/w-d-xo.html), though it could certainly still use some improvement. @@IntotheBlueSimulations thank you, it certainly does! Your attention to detail on your videos is second to none - thank you for taking the time and care in creating such immersive and interesting content. Keep it up! And good to have your videos back too, cheers 🙏🏽
Thank you Mr Shark! Black Square / NZA Simulations made it far too easy for me haha ; ) I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! I can only apologise if it (once again) made for expensive viewing - at least you’ll be earning lots of point with your card provider XD I hope you had a great weekend. All the best : )

Thanks for the video! Just a note, please make sure you remove orbx mesh nz, any freeware related to NZMF and of corse the World Update 12 NZMF Milford Sound, T004 Quintin lodge and Martins Bay NZMJ to stop any conflicts such as floating cliff faces etc. Awesome video!
Many thanks again for the excellent scenery! It made for the perfect combination with the TBM850 : ) Noted and I will make sure to remove the default sceneries before I return to the region. I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers and all the best!
Screens are great and all but there is something about needles that beats them. At once glance you can tell by needle position alone if all is well. One way is to have LCD displays that can show an analog representation of some gauges. Southwest has this option on some 737NGs.
As always, you are my reference for making a clear checklist and having rigorous procedures on a plane from departure to arrival. I can now fly my TBM 850 like a pro! It’s a shame that Black Square doesn’t consider the visuals of the 850 with a little more realism. Scratches, dirt and wear add to the realism of a 3D model that only exists on a computer screen! Reality has a longer history than a freshly repainted Disneyland ride, that's what gives it its richness and beauty!
Haha well, thank you very much 06L, that’s very kind of you to say! Whilst I can’t claim to be any sort of expert when it comes to the TBM, hopefully I was rigorous enough with the procedures, that the video acts as a good starting point for most : ) I too would have liked to have seen a bit more wear and tear etc. That issue always seems to divide the audience though, so I guess I can’t hold too much against Black Square for their artistic choices. Many thanks as always! : )
Thanks very much Glider, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! Did you mean, could I do another video which includes failures or, is the aircraft capable of them more generally? Certainly, there are many failures modelled on the TBM (around 100 separate failure modes) and these can either be selected to occur at random, or can be programmed. I’m sure I will take another look at the 850 in due course, so I will consider throwing some failures in with that video ; ) I hope that helps. Many thanks for watching and all the best : )
One subtle problem I have with a number of mods is the fonts used on the instrument panel. The 850 and a lot of other aircraft use a variants Futura on the panels or instruments and it's very distinct; I often wonder why they sub for other fonts?
Could it be anything to do with licensing, Dane? I seem to recall reading / hearing that a lot of fonts actually require permission to use. I can’t say that it’s something I really know anything about, so I’ve never noticed an issue before. I’m sure it’s one of those things where, if you know what you’re looking for, it stands out like a sore thumb haha. Cheers, all the best!
Hi Cali, The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR. I added in the footstep sounds during the editing process. I live in the Colorado Rockies and I’m looking at these mountains in NZ and thinking, is there a 10x vertical stretch on these graphics?! Wow! BTW you guys have the most awesome English accent ever. Not even the content creator can match it 🤪
Hello Bob, Good spot haha! That was just a bit of a continuity error (there’s nothing wrong with the addon). I recorded the “walkaround”, after I recorded the rest of the flight (and forgot to put the flaps down again - ooops). I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
Hello Rickie, I'm actually using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. There are cheaper / freeware alternatives available though, should you wish to give it a go for yourself : ) I hope that helps. All the best!
OK I think I found out. It turns off a torque limiter so that 121% trq is available instead of 100%. I don't know why it wasn't demonstrated in the video.
Hello Rob, Apologies for the slow reply, it seems you beat me to it haha. You are indeed correct. I didn’t demonstrate the system in the video, as I wasn’t sure at the time, under which circumstances the pilot ought to be using it (it seemed counterintuitive to me, that one would want to “over-torque” the engine during the climb / cruise, unless it was absolutely necessary but, it seems that’s actually ops normal). I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best!
Great flight.....Could you maybe zoom out for one outside landing so more perspective of the scenario can be seen. Close ups are cool as well. Thanks for the video
Hello Marcus, Thanks very much; my pleasure and I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! I do occasionally use wider shots etc but, I prefer close-in footage as 1) I feel it gives the aircraft more “presence” in the clip and 2) it allows the viewer to see far more detail (oleo compression, prop animation etc) and therefore get a better feel for the addon. I will bear your request in mind though and never say never haha : ) Cheers, all the best!

Hello Zachary, you’re correct. The ATC is real-world recordings, which I’ve then edited into the video. There is actually an ATC chatter app available for MSFS though, if that’s the sort of thing you’re after : ) I hope that helps. All the best!
Actually, that’s a very fair point TY! I’ve had the sim’s turbulence modelling set to “low” for a very long time, as it was getting very carried away when set to “realistic”, with a video I was recording previously haha. I will have to try playing around with the settings again and seeing what works best. Cheers for the reminder! ; )
Hi FlashDJ, I wasn’t sure whether I was going to include the walkaround in the video; I recorded that segment after the fact and forget to put the flaps down again to keep things consistent haha - it’s not an issue with the addon or anything. I hope that clarifies things. All the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations didn`t know if it was a glitch, i didn`t see them down on take off 😬you did put them down though, looks a stunning plane none the less and amazing videos as always
And still there's snow on the ground in the New Zealand summer...... 3 years and this ain't yet ixed... Anyway, another great video. Definitely a quality product. But in FSE terms, the 850 is considerably less-capable than the default 930. 1 less pax plus the flat-rated engine so less performance.
Well on this particular occasion, you’ll have to blame me for that one Bullet, as I actually made a custom weather preset for the scenario haha. That being said, perpetual winter in NZ, is certainly still a problem within MSFS. Apparently, NZA Simulations have been onto Asobo about the issue and Asobo have said that they’ll look to (finally) correct the problem. I’m glad you enjoyed the video otherwise though. Thanks very much for watching once again! : )
Hello Imad, Most of the TBM’s icing behaviour has actually been corrected / enhanced with the addon’s first update (which was released recently). The de-icing boots are now animated and there is visible ice accretion on the aircraft (the product changelog gives further details). I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thanks for the reply and your amazing videos. I bought the TBM on day 1. Will test the icing one more time. It is an amazing project. On the other hand, one challenge in this industry is the business model. For example, I am willing to pay more if the TBM receives additional service improvements to make it as close to the real one. I am not saying it is not amazing now, but the wish is for developers to keep seriously developing the products after release. It seems that the industry is developing more aircraft for revenue. By this will have many options but none is perfect. The issue is in the business model. If the aircraft has also a subscription model. Then developers will improve the aircraft so as not to lose those who are paying for support. Please share this with developers if you speak with them. Thx again
Thanks very much for the kind words, Imad. Very much appreciated! It’s an interesting point you raise, re pricing vs development. I’m afraid I don’t really have the ear of any dev in particular and I’m not sure how many simmers would be happy with a subscription based model (personally, I like to know that I own my products outright). I suppose, the best “compromise” would be for the dev to offer a cheaper base model and then provide paid upgrades thereafter (as we’ve seen from the likes of FSLabs etc), although some devs tend to “take advantage” of that pricing structure. . . I’ll offer up the idea if it ever comes up though. Cheers again! : )
Hello Joey, I record my flights using this 3rd party recording tool (flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder). I then have to replay and re-record the external shots that I want for the video. I hope that helps. All the best : )
Hi MS, If you’re following exactly the same steps, the only things I can think of is either a lack of fuel, control binding issue, or a systems failure (check the active failures via the WX radar menu). Have you managed to get things figured out yet? All the best!
Do you guys have problem with autopilot? I have noticed that engaging autopilot is not always effective even though it shows that AP is on. Overall aircraft is great but that AP thing is annoying. I guess it became a problem after SU14...
Hi Szymek, Personally, I haven’t experienced any autopilot issues with any of the Black Sqaure addons however, quite a few of my viewers do seem to have had similar problems. It would appear that Black Sqaure need to do some troubleshooting and hopefully they will get to the bottom of the issue sooner, rather than later. Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best!
Is the only reference in climb power really the IGT?? I remember from the TBM940 PT6 the consequences for bringing the troque over 100% since this girl doesnt have FADEC or engineprotections. As far as I know this leads to engine dmg. Whats different in the 800er? Btw stunning work from BlackSquare and really enjoyable Video, thank you
Cheers Ceejay, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! I’m afraid, I can’t help too much on that one, not being all that familiar with the TBM and indeed, turboprops more generally. So far as I can tell, ITT and Ng are limiting, but the engine will quite happily chug along all day at 121% on the torque. I don’t believe the engine is being “over-torqued” per se, as the 100% datum seems to come from takeoff power, which for some reason is flat-rated below what the engine can actually achieve. Quite unusual, at least in my experience, but there you go. If you have come across any further info in the mean time, I’d certainly be interested to hear it : ) Cheers again, all the best!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thank you for trying to help, I appreciate your reply. Indeed I spoke to a real TBM-Pilot about this :D He said ITT is indeed the limiting factor in the PT6-Engines. Overheating the engine causes structural damage to the engine internals. According to his information the torque is secondary and almost only affects the gearbox. But its durable enough for over 100% torque even for a longer duration. You should keep an eye on the gas turbine RPM but your ITT will destroy your PT6 almost evertime before overstressing the NG. So to answer my own question again: yes, ITT is the primary or first limiting factor in the PT6 turboprop. Over 100% torque isnt really a problem for the engine nor for the gearbox
Hello Steve, Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I'm actually using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. There are cheaper / freeware alternatives available though, should you wish to give it a go for yourself : ) I hope that helps. All the best!
You'll have to start dialling down the Superlatives IBS .... ! Every new addon is getting better and better 😂 The SWS Pilatus PC12 is out soon. 😊 (On a serious note: what's with the price ?! 30 bucks ❤)
Haha, 100%! That’s the trouble though, addons are becoming increasingly more accomplished and it’s becoming ever harder to set them apart (without sounding like a fanboy) haha. Still, not a bad position to be in, I suppose ; ) I’m definitely looking forward to trying out the SWS PC-12 also; I’m somewhat more of a “systems-simmer”, so I suspect that the TBM will remain my favourite of the two but, there’s no doubting SWS knows how to make a great addon. We shall see. . . Thanks for watching, catch you again soon! : )
Thank you very much for the kind words Anton, I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content! I haven’t heard anything from SWS regarding a preview but, I will most certainly be taking a look at the PC-12 once it has released : ) Cheers and all the best!
Hi Karl, Personally, I much prefer the TBM over the PC-12 (in almost every respect). I have reviewed the PC-12 also: th-cam.com/video/UHqfXp1r1Bk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MxB7WbOW_9NVwBo2 I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Hello Lennox, Thanks very much, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! There isn’t a whole lot to share I’m afraid: I basically have everything cranked up to Ultra and then spend a lot of time adjusting the weather / time within the sim (as those can make a huge difference to the way that MSFS looks), as well as trying to pick nice camera angles. I do also add a little bit of vignette to my external shots during editing (which could be done with the Nvidia in-game filters), but that’s about it! I hope that helps a little. All the best : )
Thank you very much MPH, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! The ATC is real-world recordings, which I’ve then edited into the video. There is actually an ATC chatter app available for MSFS though, if that’s the sort of thing you’re after : ) I hope that helps. My pleasure and all the best!
Haha, that’s fair enough, Jon. It will certainly be interesting to compare and contrast the two addons. Hopefully, we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer now, to see what SWS has to offer : ) Thanks for watching, all the best!
Nice plane but Geeeez is it EXPENSIVE!! I don’t mean this addon but the real thing .. was just checking out used ones on the controller market place. Anyway love your reviews .. pro dialog and pleasing camera angles 👍 Thanks!
Thanks very much for the kind words, Chris. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content! Haha yeah; the real deal is a bit outside of my price range at the moment, so I guess I’ll just have to stick with the virtual 850 for now : P Cheers and all the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Yeah it’s not exactly your weekend warrior plane is it lol. In both X-Plane and MSFS I usually stick with little planes I could actually somewhat afford or rent irl, so I won’t be buying the 850, but I got my 850 fix watching you fly it 😬👍 Thanks again and keep the content coming!
Nice video. I think the torque thing has to do with only 700shp being available for TO/L and the 850shp being achievable once the flaps are retracted and the throttle is increased in the climb? Could be wrong. I think the flaps selector is what limits the throttle position in the real aircraft. Of course with linear throttles, like we have in sim gear, couldn’t simulate that detent.
Thanks Austin, my pleasure! I’m glad you enjoyed it. You’re definitely correct re the torque limiter. It seems that 100% is the rated power for the takeoff and then 121% is allowable thereafter; I’m not sure I’ve ever come across an aircraft before, where you have more power available during the climb, than you do during the takeoff haha. Thanks for the info! Much appreciated and all the best : )
Serious question IBS.... if I have this TBM... which I do ... is there much point in having the SWS PC12 ? One feature that is relevant to me is how does visibility ftom the cockpit view, compare ?
Hi TB, Personally, unless you’re a massive fan of single-engine turboprops, I don’t think you need both addons in the sim. I’m planning to cover the SWS PC-12 at some point but, all things considered, the Black Square TBM is still my favourite of the TBM / FSR500 / PC-12 trifecta. The view / visibility is much the same in all 3 aircraft. I hope that helps a little? All the best : )
we all agree that the comanche is the best piston in the sim so far... is this the best turboprop in the sim so far or are the Kodi and Milviz Porter still serious contenders for that?
Having just had my second flight in it, i'll just put this right here. This thing is in an entirely different league than those two. The Blackbird porter was a cool machine when it came out, but by now it's a bit obsolete for something of this price range. I know the Kodiak has some people who just will not let go of how great it is that the cupholders work, but personally, i hate flying that thing. I don't know if the flight model is realistic or not, but i've always felt that the SWS Kodiak is really unpleasant to fly. The TBM 850 here, meanwhile, is nice to fly, has more systems depth than either of the other two, interesting custom avionics like the ETM and the RNAV computer, and an excellent failure system to top it all off. Oh, and it's also just a more flexible aircraft, being able to go low and slow *and* high and (relatively) fast. So TL:DR, no, those two aren't contenders, anymore. I don't think the upcoming SWS PC-12 will be either to be honest, considering it won't have anything like failures on launch. Maybe in the future, but yeah. The Piper M-500 from FSReborn might be serious competition though, if glass cockpits are your thing. There's also the *other* upcoming Black square machines, the turbine and piston Dukes, which i'm now even more excited for than before. :p
Absolutely the Kodiak is still the best. I love the TBM, but if I had to choose between the two, I would always recommend the Kodiak. Those who think the Kodiak is difficult to fly or hard to handle don’t understand the flight model is accurate and trim settings are vital for take off and hand flying.
@@WhiteHawk77 Well, it's personal preference of course, but compare her to this TBM. The Kodiak may well be accurate in how she flies, but well, so is the A2A Comanche, which is docile and nice. And this new TBM, which is quite stable once trimmed to counter the torque. If the SWS Kodiak's flight model is indeed authentic, then that just means that the real Kodiak 100 is a bit of a pig to handfly. ..... and if my choice is between two realistic aircraft, one of which is a pleasure to handfly and the other demands pitch adjustments every 2.3 femtoseconds because she's twitchy and unstable, then i'll go for the former. And before you say i'm shying away from a challenge, keep in mind that the TBM can throw all sorts of random failures at you, so there's that. ;)
Hi NIMSU, I do not, though I hear it’s absolutely excellent. Funnily enough, I’ve been getting back into X-Plane in a big way these last few days, so perhaps I’ll check out the HotStart TBM at some point. Cheers, all the best! : )
Cheers Luke, I’m glad you enjoyed it! The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR. : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Ah, I see! Thanks for the reply and clarification. I've been using FSRealistic since its release but like you, have found the first person function to be rather poorly implemented and not really worth using. In fact, FSR hasn't been updated for a long time and I wonder if they've given up on it. The TBM really is a great simulation. I just wish BS would get a decent sound set released as the default buzzing prop drives me nuts! Cheers 🙂
Hi Luke, you’re most welcome on the reply! FSRealistic was updated quite recently, actually (within the last month or so). I’m afraid I don’t recall what the changes were. Perhaps worth checking for an update again (my email notification went to my junk folder). I gather that Black Square have said that the TMB will be getting a custom engine soundset, once they have recorded the soundset for another addon that they have in development (that might be the turbine Duke). Cheers again : )
Hello Guilherme, Apologies for the slow reply. My understanding, is that the spoilers on the TBM 850 are roll spoilers only and are therefore not deployable as speedbrakes etc. I did a little bit of digging around online and didn’t come across anything to the contrary. I hope that helps a little? All the best : )
Apparently, to fall within a certain category, the TBM needs to stall below a certain speed (I think it was 61kts, from memory). To achieve this, the manufacture had to give the aircraft pretty sizeable flaps, which take up most of the wing and as such, the 850 only has quite tiny ailerons haha. To combat the resulting lack of roll control, roll spoilers have been fitted also : )
Thanks very much Ian, I’m really glad you enjoyed the flight! I love VR haha! I’m somewhat on the hunt for a new headset actually, but have spent many hours with my Samsung Odyssey over the years. There’s no more immersive option for simming than VR but, personally I find content recorded in VR, doesn’t make for the best of viewing experiences, so I stick to 2D and TrackIR in my videos. As I don’t really get any time to sim these days, outside of when I am recording, I spend the vast majority of my time in 2D (I did actually get VR set up for a guest the other day and I had forgotten just how great it is haha!). I take it you’re a big VR fan then? Cheers, all the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thanks I have the crj but don’t know how to put autopilot I try with saved button mopping, but it doesn’t. It doesn’t work for my mopping.
Thanks very much Fernando, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! My joystick sensitivity settings are just left at “default” values (from memory, even by default, MSFS still introduces some sort of sensitivity curve). I do have a -50 curve on my rudder sensitivity, as I still find the rudder response to be way overly sensitive in MSFS. I hope that helps a little. All the best : )
Hello Declan, The ATC is real-world recordings, which I’ve then edited into the video. There is actually an ATC chatter app available for MSFS though, if that’s the sort of thing you’re after : ) I hope that helps. All the best!
Hi Rymd, The TBM 850, isn’t like other Black Sqaure addons; other than the sounds (which should be updated at some point in the future), the aircraft has been built from the ground up - including the flight model. The 850 definitely flies better than the 930; at the time of recording, the addon still felt a little “default” in terms of the flight modelling however, the product received a major overhaul after release, with supposed significant flight model improvements included (I’m afraid I haven’t had the chance to test that out though). Of the single-engine turboprops available in MSFS, the TBM 850 is my favourite. I hope that helps a little? All the best : )
Indeed, haha! I did actually get a comment from Steve-O himself, some time during the early days of the channel; so, that’s my claim to fame haha! XD Cheers, Streaky. Happy flying!
Hi Graeme, The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR. I added in the footstep sounds during the editing process. My pleasure Cartman, cheers for watching! Haha, I do hope you’re enjoying the 850 then ; ) Yes, Logitech recently updated the drivers for my headset and have, very helpfully, screwed up my settings (that were working pretty well before) ha. I need to investigate but, unfortunately haven’t found the time to do so yet. . . Many thanks and all the best! : )
Looks like they did a great job creating the TBM850 for flight sim! Thanks for the review.
@steveo1kinevo We need to see you flying it
Duude I immediately thought to myself “I wonder if steveokinevo is watching this video” and right away I saw your comment hahaha.
Thanks to you Steve, I already knew the startup, takeoff, and landing procedures by heart!
Hello Jacob,
I’m really glad you’re enjoying the TBM!
Awesome video as always. Looks like this is going to be my default training video and flight while I learn this great product. Thanks for your work!
Either way, I will certainly keep the Rockies in mind for any future outings : )
Cheers and a pleasure as always!
Mount cook scenery was well worth it in my opinion love flying around this part of the world in the sim.
Haha, I think many simmers would agree with you Pythos and Black Square must concur, as their addons seem to be selling like hot cakes ; )
In the real-world, if I was in busy airspace or poor weather, I’d take a glass screen any day of the week but, under more leisurely circumstances and certainly in the sim, I much prefer steam gauges as they just have so much more character and somehow offer a more “visceral” flying experience.
Certainly valid points as well, Arthur and yes, I agree, there are too many glass cockpits in MSFS haha!
All the best : )
I feel like this cockpit it the perfect balance of steam and glass. Not stone age primitive but space age either. A really nice balance, and very easy to work with in VR which a lot of the pure steam gauges are not.
Excellent video as always. ITB is a legend!
Beautiful plane, beautiful scenery. Amazing video as always ITB. Can't wait to test it out!
Thank you very much for the kind words MO, I’m really glad you enjoyed the flight! Happy flying and all the best : )
Haha, as much as I enjoy the simming, I really started to enjoy the “artistic” aspect of creating these videos also - I’m glad that comes across : )
I hope you had a great weekend.
Workload - not boring, no stress
Looking forward to your future flights with TBM. I am sure you will do them..
I’m glad you’re enjoying the TBM, Øystein! There’s no doubt the Comanche is still something special but, it’s also nice to break away from the SEP flying occasionally ; )
I certainly plan on doing some more flights with the 850, especially since the flight model has been overhauled. The trouble is, now I have an H160 to look at and I’d quite like to try the LVFR A330 also. . . there’s never enough time in the day XD
Happy flying once again, sir! : )
Great to see another NZ setting for your review with the NZA scenery to boot! You were brave making that visual approach into NZMC in those conditions, well done on pulling it off!
Haha well, I certainly wouldn’t be that brave in the real world but, therein lies half the fun of the sim! ; )
I’m really glad you enjoyed another spot of virtual NZ.
Could still happen...
@@justflight what a tease 😂
You also have the Turbine Duke which is all new coming up!
@@CCitisSure but the King Air is my favourite aircraft. I am currently building a cockpit for it.
A 5 blade model would be sweet

Been flying in this baby for a week and I gotta say... Wow! If every plane was this detailed in the SIM I'm not sure I'd be able to go outside again.
Haha! Really glad you’ve been enjoying the TBM, SSA! Happy flying and all the best : )
Another great video.
Spot on Review thank you I still enjoy the Blacksquare TBM 850 today
it should have a tone doot-doot when approaching altitude. Watching Stevo. If you really want an addict to the tbm. The company recently put the aircraft up for sale. but theirs plenty of binge watching. he flew the 850 hopefully he finds another job flying the tbm.
@tophatanimation8748 Yep yep. Looking forward to that in the coming weeks. Love his channel.
I love Steveo1kinevo. Longtime subscriber. He has excellent content.
Hello Mark,
I seem to recall that I did get an altitude alert on some occasions, but then not on others. I don’t know if that’s a question of mode selection, or whether it’s a bug that needs ironing out.
Steve-o’s channel is great! I’m sure he’ll come good and land on his feet somewhere else : )
Cheers, all the best!
What a great review 👍. Also nice to have panel light on so viewers can see what’s going on. Thanks.
Cheers : )
The real TBM that we needed in the sim 😀. Very nice!
Totally agree about the scenery.
TBM 930 was my go to for chill evening flight sim session, now with this review I'm confident this will replace that. On my way to buy this aircraft
If you’re a fan of the TBM, I’m sure you’ll have a great time with this one, Tom! Of the single-engine turboprops that have recently arrived in MSFS (the TBM 850, FSR 500 and the SWS PC-12), the 850 is my favourite overall : )
Happy flying and all the best!
Still a spot on video and a good review as well for the Blacksquare TBM 850
Great review and flight - a fantastic aircraft - added to my wishlist.
Thanks very much HF, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! The TBM is indeed a very nice addon; if you do end up picking the aircraft up, I really hope you have fun : )
Many thanks and all the best!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations picked it up a couple of weeks ago - fantastic addon👍
Nice aircraft, great video!
Thanks very much, AH! I’m really glad you enjoyed both the TBM and the video in general. Cheers : )
You might not get rich quite as quickly, but at least you’ll have fun during the grind ; )
Happy flying and all the best! : )
I do not know why but I love this plane. It's kinda my dream plane.
Hello sir from Seattle
Great video as always
I just picked this AC up over the weekend and it is very impressive. I am a sucker for steam plus modern avionics and black square has done a nice job blending both. The immersion in to the sim is also very nicely done
Still have fingers crossed for the A2A spit Mk1 to be making g a future debut and review 😉
Cheers
Hello Andy,
I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the TBM thus far (understandably so)!
A classic "shut up and take my money" moment :D Awesome!
Haha, the Black Square TBM is indeed awesome, CC! In my opinion, it’s the best single-engine turboprop available for MSFS.
Enjoy! : )
Hey there. What are you using to do the preflight walk around? I can hear footsteps and there's head bob. Is this ad addon?
Hi Daniel,
The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR.

I’ve spent quite a few hours in this plane since yesterday. Completing multiple flights. I just can’t say how impressive this aircraft is. It’s going to be awhile before someone outdoes this one
Its got quite a few flaws so its good but not that good.
I’m really glad you’ve been enjoying the addon, Jay! Happy flying and all the best : )
So on a side note, is there any reason why TBM wouldnt just have the inertial separator on for every taxi and take off no matter the location? Seems that protecting the engine would a good procedure.
Good question, there are a few reasons why the TBM doesn't just have the inertial separator on for every taxi and takeoff:
Namely, fuel economy: The inertial separator uses some fuel to operate, so it's more fuel-efficient to only have it on when it's needed.
I was curious about this, myself.
I've seen a couple TBM pilots discussing this elsewhere, and for one of them, it was indeed a company-mandated procedure to have the inertial separator on during any and all ground operations.
Newer TBMs it’s on below 5000 irrespective. Once above 5000 and out of icing conditions you can turn it off
Thanks very much for offering up the detailed info, Scott! Always great to hear from those familiar with the aircraft.
Much appreciated and all the best : )
I am familiar with New Zealand... I live here :) Mt Cook region is one of our favs IRL as well.
The icing on the cake would be a custom sound set in my opinion. Everything else looks top shelf! Thank you for demonstrating this amazing add on
I think that’s a very fair point, Yo! (I would love to see a custom soundset - perhaps we’ll at least get one from FTSim). I haven’t tried the TBM’s updated flight model yet, but that was the other “weaker” aspect of the addon for me, so it’s great to see that Black Square have revisited it.

i just installed MFS2020 but ive got a problem, when i turn right/left they joystick stays in that position, how can i make it auto center?
Hello Axier,
I’m guessing you’re perhaps playing with a keyboard? That’s not a setup that I’m really familiar with; I don’t know whether there is an option available such as you’ve described, I think it’s fair to say that the sim is really designed to be flown with axis controls (so a simple gamepad, or better). I did have a quick look online for you but, couldn’t come up with anything helpful I’m afraid. Perhaps you might have more luck over on the MSFS forums?
Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best! : )
I want to ask something sir, how do you record your flights on a320 fenix (to get the passanger view) ?
Hello Gillik,
I record my flights using this 3rd party recording tool (flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder). I then have to replay and re-record the additional shots (external views, wing views etc) that I want for the video.
I hope that helps? All the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations I tried some recorders, they didnt capture engine sounds and flaps moving on fenix, pmdg. Is that the same case with you sir?
Hello again Gillik,
Yes, it’s the same for me.
Cheers : )
Wow.
Have you seen the list of tweaks in the new update ?

Hi there, what do you use or do to flow so easily around the cockpit and how do you get out the plane for a walk around? I'm relatively new to MSFS so this is all new to me sorry.
And further to that - how do you get those ‘crunching on gravel’ sounds during the walkaround?
TrackIR5 and the drone camera for the walkaround.
Hi Craig,
The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR (which also accounts for the “flowing” head movements). I added in the footstep sounds during the editing process.
Whilst I can’t claim to be any sort of expert when it comes to the TBM, hopefully I was rigorous enough with the procedures, that the video acts as a good starting point for most : )
I too would have liked to have seen a bit more wear and tear etc. That issue always seems to divide the audience though, so I guess I can’t hold too much against Black Square for their artistic choices.
Many thanks as always! : )
Awesome review thanks. Could you do failures?
Thanks very much Glider, I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
Did you mean, could I do another video which includes failures or, is the aircraft capable of them more generally? Certainly, there are many failures modelled on the TBM (around 100 separate failure modes) and these can either be selected to occur at random, or can be programmed. I’m sure I will take another look at the 850 in due course, so I will consider throwing some failures in with that video ; )
I hope that helps.
How do you walk around so close to the airplane outside ? Thank you. !

On your walk around the flaps were up but inside the plane the indicator said that they were down
Hello Bob,
Good spot haha! That was just a bit of a continuity error (there’s nothing wrong with the addon). I recorded the “walkaround”, after I recorded the rest of the flight (and forgot to put the flaps down again - ooops).
I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
It looks great.
How do you move around the cockpit smoothly? For example, at the beginning when you were doing your cockpit pre startup
Hello Rickie,
I'm actually using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. There are cheaper / freeware alternatives available though, should you wish to give it a go for yourself : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
When is the 850 flap setting used?
OK I think I found out. It turns off a torque limiter so that 121% trq is available instead of 100%. I don't know why it wasn't demonstrated in the video.
Hello Rob,
Apologies for the slow reply, it seems you beat me to it haha.
Hello Marcus,
Thanks very much; my pleasure and I’m really glad you enjoyed the video!
I do occasionally use wider shots etc but, I prefer close-in footage as 1) I feel it gives the aircraft more “presence” in the clip and 2) it allows the viewer to see far more detail (oleo compression, prop animation etc) and therefore get a better feel for the addon. I will bear your request in mind though and never say never haha : )
Cheers, all the best!
How are you able to walk around the aircraft like that??? I haven't been able to find any way of doing it

Hello Zachary, you’re correct.

There wasn't as much turbulence as I would expect to occur in a mountainous area.
Isn't the weather usually more finicky in mountain ranges?
Actually, that’s a very fair point TY! I’ve had the sim’s turbulence modelling set to “low” for a very long time, as it was getting very carried away when set to “realistic”, with a video I was recording previously haha. I will have to try playing around with the settings again and seeing what works best.
Cheers for the reminder! ; )
why were the flaps not down on the walk around ?
part of the checks as per the pre flight walkaround
Hi FlashDJ,
I wasn’t sure whether I was going to include the walkaround in the video; I recorded that segment after the fact and forget to put the flaps down again to keep things consistent haha - it’s not an issue with the addon or anything.
Thanks. Did anybody test if deicing is simulated in the PMS? Also does the ice show on the body of the aircraft?
Hello Imad,
Most of the TBM’s icing behaviour has actually been corrected / enhanced with the addon’s first update (which was released recently).
What replay software are you using in this video?
Hello Joey,

I hope that helps. All the best : )
Please help me..I followed all the same steps and when starting my ng stops at 18.5 and ITT stops at 30 everytime. What am I missing???
Hi MS,
If you’re following exactly the same steps, the only things I can think of is either a lack of fuel, control binding issue, or a systems failure (check the active failures via the WX radar menu). Have you managed to get things figured out yet?
All the best!
Do you guys have problem with autopilot? I have noticed that engaging autopilot is not always effective even though it shows that AP is on. Overall aircraft is great but that AP thing is annoying. I guess it became a problem after SU14...
Hi Szymek,
Personally, I haven’t experienced any autopilot issues with any of the Black Sqaure addons however, quite a few of my viewers do seem to have had similar problems.
If you have come across any further info in the mean time, I’d certainly be interested to hear it : )
Cheers again, all the best!
Thanks very much for the info, Ceejay! Makes sense / useful to know. Much appreciated! All the best : )

Awesome vid once again. Would you mind sharing your Reshade/NVidia Settings? Your Sim looks awsome
Hello Lennox,
Thanks very much, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video!

@@IntotheBlueSimulations Yeah it’s not exactly your weekend warrior plane is it lol. Cheers Chris! Much appreciated. Will do : )
Hi TB,
Personally, unless you’re a massive fan of single-engine turboprops, I don’t think you need both addons in the sim.
@@captaincasualmusic thanks for your input :)
@@captaincasualmusicthe Kodiak unpleasant to fly? Certainly not my experience.
And before you say i'm shying away from a challenge, keep in mind that the TBM can throw all sorts of random failures at you, so there's that. ;)
I'm assuming the channel owner owns the TBM for x-plane?
Hi NIMSU,
I do not, though I hear it’s absolutely excellent. Funnily enough, I’ve been getting back into X-Plane in a big way these last few days, so perhaps I’ll check out the HotStart TBM at some point.
Cheers, all the best! : )
Btw this aircraft looks amazing in VR.
Nice review again :-) One question: How did you do your walkaround? I swear I could hear footsteps?! Is this a feature of the sim I have to discover?
Cheers Luke, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
The walkaround was a combination of the drone camera and TrackIR.
Can you tell me if the spoilers are deployable?
Hello Guilherme,
Apologies for the slow reply. My understanding, is that the spoilers on the TBM 850 are roll spoilers only and are therefore not deployable as speedbrakes etc. I did a little bit of digging around online and didn’t come across anything to the contrary.
I hope that helps a little? All the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations i figured, I guess it’s useful if you’re flying at 30,000 ft
To combat the resulting lack of roll control, roll spoilers have been fitted also : )
you're on live weather and don't have snow? How?
Hello Konrad,
Actually, I wasn’t using Live Weather in this video (hence the lack of snow).
I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
Version 1.2 is out (with EFB)
Amazing video as always. Interested to know, do you ever dabble in VR, or is it not for you?
Where u get this plane I can’t see it
Hello Fernando,
The addon is available from the Just Flight website.
I hope that helps. All the best!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thanks I have the crj but don’t know how to put autopilot I try with saved button mopping, but it doesn’t. It doesn’t work for my mopping.
awesome review!!, any recommendation on curve sensitivities??
Thanks very much Fernando, I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
My joystick sensitivity settings are just left at “default” values (from memory, even by default, MSFS still introduces some sort of sensitivity curve). I do have a -50 curve on my rudder sensitivity, as I still find the rudder response to be way overly sensitive in MSFS.
I hope that helps a little. All the best : )
Anyone know where he got the real ATC chatter from
Hello Declan,
The ATC is real-world recordings, which I’ve then edited into the video. There is actually an ATC chatter app available for MSFS though, if that’s the sort of thing you’re after : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
Is the flight Model untouched? Is this about the same tbm as the one in the game? Except for the dials Is there any other difference?
Hi Rymd,
The TBM 850, isn’t like other Black Sqaure addons; other than the sounds (which should be updated at some point in the future), the aircraft has been built from the ground up - including the flight model.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Sorry for the late reply! Thank you for the info. I just dowloaded v 1.2... =)
We can now all fly 851TB?? I can get behind that!!
Steve-O!
Indeed, haha!
I did actually get a comment from Steve-O himself, some time during the early days of the channel; so, that’s my claim to fame haha! XD
Cheers, Streaky. Happy flying!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Haha, Nice!!

You’re most welcome, Graeme! Cheers : )
Thanks for the video , didn't need much convincing to buy (your microphone comes across a bit loud)
My pleasure Cartman, cheers for watching! Haha, I do hope you’re enjoying the 850 then ; )
Yes, Logitech recently updated the drivers for my headset and have, very helpfully, screwed up my settings (that were working pretty well before) ha. I need to investigate but, unfortunately haven’t found the time to do so yet. . .
Many thanks and all the best! : )
