My home office is a place where I can create, get inspired, and learn something new.
Our roommates recently moved out, leaving us with a spare bedroom to work with. I decided to transform the bedroom into a home office and design studio, to support my endeavor in the creative industry.

To avoid the peeling on the wall fixture, in the future use sandpaper and rough the surface up for better adhesion.

Thanks Amanda! Yes, we're planning to do a long cabinet that stretches all the way from the tv area to where the desk used to be. Will be a combination of tv unit, buffet and reading nook.
Hope to share it by end of September/early October if things went smoothly.

I was thinking of getting the Ivar from IKEA to recreate my office area to get a bit more separation from the other spaces and a larger work surface. An adjustable monitor mount would greatly improve the looks of the desk and also would improve overall ergonomics by raising the screen to the eye level.

Good project. If that chrome lamp (that you painted matte black) continues to peel, you can take it down/off for the time being, sand everything down with 600 grit sand paper, and then paint over it again. The paint should have better adhesion to the rougher surface once you get all off the chrome off. You might want to do it outdoors though. You wouldn’t want to have to deal with all that sanding dust indoors. Anyway, just a recommendation, in case that lamp causes you some peeling issues. 😊

Awesome transformation! Love it! I'm also in Sydney, what's your advice on where to source all these indoor plants from and the types? After watching this my home office is looking so bland.
I got them from different places, but mostly local shops surrounding my area. Have had good experience with Plant Daddy and Plant Society (they offer free delivery within 10km of their shop), also Flower Power (huge garden, great to browse when not in lockdown) and Newtown Garden Market (also offer free delivery, but have to order by phone, they'll send you images of plant by text).
