    I _love_ your desk setup! It's not ridiculously minimalistic since you added storage and a drawer on the other side. Very practical ideas! I think this video might be more important than the makeover one actually :)

    You might consider investing on a KVM switch, it would allow you to switch between computers with one click (some models even have remotes). No need to unplug/plug cables.

    Hi Reynard, hi Reynard's community :) I really love the office desk and would love this for my own office - could someone please tell me where it is from, I am unable to find it in the other video from the series 😅

    • @reynardlowell
      @reynardlowell  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ohh I'm pretty sure I diy'd this one as in the video - using the IKEA SÄLJAN Worktop, and the bekant drawer + a couple of desk legs and riser between the drawer and worktop to give that gap.

    What legs/spacers did you use between the desktop and the bekant drawer unit? The whole setup sits really nicely!! :)

    • @reynardlowell
      @reynardlowell  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! It's just a standard flat wall hook. Can also use a flat round cabinet knob. I attached them to the bottom of the table top, and use a scotch felt/rubber pad to prevent scratching the top of the bekant drawer.

    When switching between laptops, do you have to disconnect and reconnect your keyboard and mouse each time? Looking for a solution

    • @EmmaVB82
      @EmmaVB82 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if they have a USB wireless receiver dongle, my guess is he connects that to the Thunderbolt dock under the desk, and then when he moves the cable from one laptop to another, the peripherals go along with the monitor and any other devices connected there :)
      I’ve got the Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and MX Keys keyboard, which have little buttons you can press to switch between devices (the standard/non-Mac-only version also comes with those wireless USB dongles, but since I’ve only got USB-C ports on my laptop I’d have to use a USB dock in order to connect the USB-A dongle somewhere, so I stuck with Bluetooth). I’ve only got one laptop at the moment (but work are trying to get me to use a PC laptop at home instead of using my personal Mac to connect in remotely to my PC in the office, so this may change!) but I sometimes like to use the mouse with my iPad when I have it on my desk as kind of an additional screen/auxiliary device, and being able to quickly switch the device the mouse controls with a button is useful.

    • @bloodcleet078
      @bloodcleet078 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I have my Mac and my work laptop which runs windows. I connected my apple keyboard/mouse to my work laptop but when switching I’d love a seamless way. I youtubed a KVM set-up which seemed expensive but might be my only option

    • @reynardlowell
      @reynardlowell  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah as Emma mentioned, I plugged in the usb dongle and microphone to the dock under the desk. So everything goes when I plug/unplug the dock. I used both windows and Dell laptop so it's a bit easier I guess.
      KVM might be an option, or if you don't mind switching kb and mouse, you can easily sell the apple ones and get the latest logitech MX set; those can easily switch between multiple devices.
