  • my car hit 200,000kms a few weeks ago and it was in need for a catch can and prefuel filter. this was a quite easy install, if I had of noticed one of the pipes was flared it would have been nice and quick, but it wasn't hard at all to go back a few steps and connect then to the correct fitting. western filters come with good instructions and photos to clearly tell you what to do, you can search them up online or they come in the kit.

    Another good vid, that bottom bolt near the beginning, best to have a flat and spring washer on that. And when pushing on rubber pipes try a bit of silicon spray, makes it a lot easier

    My 2014 nx also had the straight outlet on the rocker cover like yours, except the hoses western filters supply are now single length with the bends moulded in and had the wrong angle moulded in, so had to trim the last bend off, similar to how you removed the last bit.

      Glad I'm not the only one who had that problem. I was thinking I had done something wrong bc everything else fitted so well

    great kit everything works well, for me I have a pre fuel filter there and fitted up my double thumper air compressor in the space too it's amazing what you work out to fit under the bonnet

      Wow that's good storage I was always thinking about putting a dual battery in that spot but decided against is so I could have a catch can but I'll look and see if my compressor can fit also

    Nice little Install video. If that was mine, the fuel hose between the filters, I'd change how that is and have it with a single hose removing the 90° brass joiner. Looks a little cleaner and one less restriction to fail. Besides that, great how to video👌

    Quick question ….why not connect the pipe at the bottom of the fuel filter into the pre fuel filter and then have another pipe from the pre fuel filter into the main filter ?

      Depending what pajero you have I think a few can be mounted near the air box

    Good work. Thinking of getting a pre fuel filter myself. For an extra lollipop can you fit it for me

    But shouldn’t it affect the ecu outputs ? Obviously it would bring some lag to the fuel delivery since it is an electrically unaccounted filter system that comes in between the high pressure pumps and the stock filter , so the curious question I like to ask is , did you notice anything? Either while running or right after the filter change? Or any codes ? Any problems with the pumps, both in the tank and at front , or any changes in smoke or zoot deposits ,
    Or the ecu automatically adjusts with it? I wonder if you had noticed anything.

      Honestly didn't notice anything different from the usual, no codes no change in power or anything, but I did get a manifold clean done recently and I noticed a difference in power and lack of lag

      @@bia4x4, nice video, good presentation. Where did you get the manifold clean done? Do you also have a link to the catch can, or have just had a man look and missed it. Thanks, Mark.

      it won't impact responsiveness as this is just filtering the flow from the lift pump to the high pressure pump, which maintains a common rail to a set pressure, and then injectors fire when they receive an electronic pulse..

  • @df5118
    @df5118 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you also have an EGR delete?

    • @davidl6041
      @davidl6041 ปีที่แล้ว

      its not really needed with a catch can, ear delete will make the car run lean, and tampering with EGR is TOTALLY illegal
