One thing to add about the Watch one. Amazon were sprouting a $10 compensation line to all the pre-order people. Since I actually work at amazon, I can tell you exactly how that watch issue happened. I'm gonna bet there was a upc on the outside of the case that matched the upc for the items inside it. Stower didn't read the info and stowed the entire box as a single unit. Picker and packer also went through and didn't question the size of the case for a single watch. Bet the box had no other details like perhaps "24 units" or something similar. From there, the person got the entire case and then amazon was left with 0 inventory on an item the publisher had said they received x amount of. I say this as I've seen multiple items get stowed as a single unit even in my building. There was once a time when a case of 60 wallets was stowed as a single wallet.
@@JustThinkForYourself It was put in a cart as a case with the intention of the stower opening up and stowing all the items in the case. However, the stower missed the fact it was a case. One correction. Zero Time Dilemma was also released for the 3DS. It was an incredibly small printing though. I literally went to Best Buy on launch day to find that not only they were sold out, the SKU was deleted from their system, meaning they weren't planning on ever restocking it. In the end, I had to buy it digitally from the 3DS eShop.

last time i preordered a game was in 2000, WWF Smackdown 2 on the playstation and that came with a rock t shirt, never bothered since and im glad of that.
Yes, i remember the early days of Amazon using dedicated couriers rather than the normal postal services. It's like they hired them from an agency that dealt solely in incompetent morons. Even though they're pretty good now; they've got a lot to make up for.
I resent the assertion that courier drivers are incompetent. I drive vans and I am an honest driver who delivers to the right addresses and take pride in my work.. I don't drive for Amazon though.
Wouldn't be the first time Amazon did it. When the Switch came out, most people had to yell at customer service for them to ship, and I heard horror stories of when the SNES Classic came out that they weren't shipping them but selling them on "treasure trucks" at the time. Some people didn't have them ship for months (I managed to get my Switch ship in a week).
@@TheRogueMaverick Usually, participants choose to receive a text message that alerts them to what that deal is so they can act quickly enough to snag it before it sells out. Once the treasure that is offered by the truck is purchased, the buyer is told where the Treasure Truck is located so it can be picked up. I had to look it up too
Oh, lots of people asking what I used for the theme song for this episode, it's called "Rage" from Fantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh. Can confirm with Amazon and things from Japan. I tried to preorder the blu ray box set for Revolutionary girl Utena in November to get in in February and then they all of a sudden didn’t have it for anyone, and never gave me any notification. Thankfully it was never charged but it was annoying as all hell that I had to go to reddit and other forum sites to figure out what was going on.
Amazon in Canada is absolutely incompetent at getting out any video game preorders on day of release, even to prime members. Best Buy, Walmart, EB Games and what else can manage it, but never Amazon.

@@sanges99 ditto. Tried it once or twice and that was enough. It was about a good year after wolf came out though and any 360/ps3 preorders were a little shafted as next gen beta only
I think your almost right, I think only x% of those who had the closed beta code got into the Alpha, then everyone with a code got into a closed beta, then 2 weeks later it was an open beta. I'm not a MP fan but liked being able to experiment woth how the game felt, and see if I wanted to risk pre-odering Doom.
@Purple Angry Zmurf Wow, partly living to 1/3rd of your username. But no, you're wrong. Wolfenstein TNO gave a BETA code, even look it up. I have an email saying I confirmed my beta code in mid 2014. I got an alpha code emailed to me late 2015. I'll quote my Alpha code email here: "The DOOM MP Closed Alpha is a series of development-driven tests designed to stress test the game’s dedicated server infrastructure in a real-world end user environment. It is not the Beta (offered with Wolfenstein®: The New Order™ pre-order), a demo, or representative of the final game." If everyone in the closed Beta also got an alpha code, fine cool, so ID Software infact gave us MORE than promised. If it was more select which I believe (but could be wrong about) then fine, cool, it was never promised to us anyway, it was a cool cherry on top for me anyway.
I remember when I preordered "I Am Setuna" SquareEnix promised a downloadable soundtrack with the game. The soundtrack came out and we all found out that the soundtrack was literally just one track. SquareEnix pulled something similar to Chrono Trigger DS. That came with a CD with preorder. That CD has a whooping TWO tracks. I should have learned the first time.

Think you got the story wrong with Wolfenstein The New Order and Doom beta. I preordered WTNO for the beta and got in a closed beta for pre order people. There was a later open beta too which anyone could get in. Also it was always for Doom, not Doom 4 (that I can remember). So I don't think Bethesda lied with this one. I got a great game, got access to a closed beta that made me excited for Doom! Edit: I looked it up. Closed Beta for WTNO pre order was 2 weeks before the open Beta.

I made sure to confirm that my pre-order would come with the skin and I even kept the e-mail that included the information for the character. Eventually, the game shipped out and I never got the code to redeem the skin. I spent days trying to get in contact with anyone at Amazon to see if someone could help me out. Took a week, but someone responded and gave me the the most bullshit excuse. They said I pre-ordered the game too early so I wasn't qualified for the skin.
JuffoWup78 did these things not get QA’d at the point of in loading?
@@JustThinkForYourself It was put in a cart as a case with the intention of the stower opening up and stowing all the items in the case. However, the stower missed the fact it was a case. It is up to the job of the stower, picker, and packer to qa such things. It is also up to them to report damaged items as well.
@@JuffoWup78 I've never stowed so I can't exactly say for sure what exactly you mean

Yes, i remember the early days of Amazon using dedicated couriers rather than the normal postal services. It's like they hired them from an agency that dealt solely in incompetent morons. Even though they're pretty good now; they've got a lot to make up for.
I fix Amazon vans. The drivers are still incompetent.
What is a “treasure truck”? That’s the first I’ve heard that term in my life.
@@TheRogueMaverick Usually, participants choose to receive a text message that alerts them to what that deal is so they can act quickly enough to snag it before it sells out. Wolfenstein/Dooms not correct Larry.
The code got you a closed Alpha test of the multiplayer, open beta happened months later (I was part of it).
As someone who picked up Wolf' when it first came out and redeemed that Alpha code (and then lost all interest when I found out it was for multiplayer), I'm glad to see someone made this comment. This was the first time I felt Larry got something very wrong.
@@sanges99 ditto. Tried it once or twice and that was enough. It was about a good year after wolf came out though and any 360/ps3 preorders were a little shafted as next gen beta only
Yup, same here, I also took part in the alpha. I'm glad someone pointed out the mistake!
I'll quote my Alpha code email here:
"The DOOM MP Closed Alpha is a series of development-driven tests designed to stress test the game’s dedicated server infrastructure in a real-world end user environment. It is not the Beta (offered with Wolfenstein®: The New Order™ pre-order), a demo, or representative of the final game."
If everyone in the closed Beta also got an alpha code, fine cool, so ID Software infact gave us MORE than promised. If it was more select which I believe (but could be wrong about) then fine, cool, it was never promised to us anyway, it was a cool cherry on top for me anyway.
The thing I love about this series is that most of the stuff I hear about here, I'd never know about otherwise.

I went with Amazon because it came with Savage Theron Guard, my favorite locust from Gears 3.
