5 Minute Office Stretch Routine

  • The next routine in the Stretches for the Office series! This one is only 5 minutes long for the busiest office workers.     I tried a variation of the first stretch before: it involved lifting the arms forward about a quarter, then about halfway, then a full rotation, and finally a full rotation the other way. I think the quick change the other way caused me to tear a rotator cuff muscle (maybe it was a muscle of the chest, but it's still a little tender after about four months). Could that type of quick change cause a muscle tear?

      Maybe you did it too quickly? I’m not too sure, but you can absolutely injure yourself stretching. Warming up, moving into the positions slowly, and not pushing yourself beyond your limits will help prevent injuries.

      @@Lacey_Crowe Yeah, I think I was a little too aggressive and quick with it. Needless to say, I don't do that exercise anymore. Now that I have some familiarity with these types of exercises, I'm not pushing myself as much. I can find some balance between challenging myself and not causing another injury.
