A 71 yr old duck ,deer hunter from Cheatam Co. Tennessee BIG R -50 fan they are just built better than any other SUV .My hats off to you son you have really put a lot of work into making The Pathfinder the better OFF ROAD VEHICLE off all time. I've driven old Rovers to International Chiefs &Scouts but the PATHFINDER is #1 in Craftsmanship!! By far Mine is going on 22 years of hassle free SERVICE! AGAIN THANKS YOU'VE DONE a great job here!
So to raise the vehicle this is what was used: AC 2" front coils NRC9448 rear coils w/ bilstein 5100 - 31" bfg KO2 - pines to spines 3" SFD - front Lokka locker 4.6 Thanks!
That was a sick review. It was cool getting to see some of the details of this build after only seeing snippets of it on IG and other places. You skipped one of my favorite parts of the P2S subframe drop kit- the camber adjustable front coilover spacer! That thing is a work of art how they built it.
Those tires will fit on a stock suspension as well, right? I will eventually get the lift done, but really want to tires as the stocks one are so skinny with a +20 offset and those look so good with that lift so it ticks two boxes at once
i got a 1997 QX4 and gonna lift the thing and put new rims. So question how about 3.4 Back spacing? Would that be too much? I know the 3.75 is the flush number but 3,4 could look good too... but maybe too much stress on parts...
@@208Tyler Also i've some doubt still as i have an older QX4. it's a 1997 as said. They never came with 15" rims, but, I've looked and measured stuff out and am 99% sure a 15" will fit it no problem. Some people say they don't clear brake calliper but im pretty sure the older Q's have no problem with 15's as long as the backspacing is a minimum of 3,75. Your input would be much appreciated as you have lots of experience with the R50 series. All your video are very informative and very well done mate! Thank you! I was looking at putting 31x10.5 15" for tire and i would like it to stick out just a little. Isn't the 3,75 just flush with the fenders? will also go with suspension lift AC front and Land Rover rear.
@@maximemoniez687 You'll have no problem fitting 15's, especially with 3.75 Backspacing. The 3.75 number is so that tires larger than 31" don't rub on the lower strut perch. 3.75 backspacing will push the tire out a ways. If you want to be flush with the fender something more like 4.5 backspacing will probably be the right number. Pushing the tire excessively far out is undesirable for scrub radius, rubbing, and tucking tires at full flex.
@@208Tyler Remember though that the Q's have the plastic fender flares that make the stance wider. Thats the reason why i was thinking going to like 3,5 BS. Cool for the 15". I guess the classic is 15x8 -19. Because to be honest i saw another rim that i like which is a 15x8 -24 (3,55 BS) but i have my doubts that it just might be too much. Ah the nice rim topic of the R50's... 😂
@@maximemoniez687 The downsides of having to do more trimming and having a wider track width to me are far more important than sticking out from the fenders. I would actually rather have the tires inside the fenders- you don't fling mud and rocks all over the vehicle and its better for aerodynamics
I like the tail light guards, anyone know if they are part of the aftermarket lights or a separate item? Also where to find both the lights and the guards?
Hey Tyler, just wondering, did your buddy ever have problems with those tail lights leaking or retaining moisture? I’m thinking of getting them, actually ordered it on Amazon already, but if they are prone to leaking I’ll just send back.
I couldn’t tell you if he did or didn’t. You could try adding silicone to the seal yourself. You can also find him on Instagram and reach out to him directly!
Kinda looks like my neighborhood. Do you have to weld anything for the sfd? I got a 98 qx4 that I'm turning into a pathfinder cause the body parts are a pain to find and its time for new headlights
No. R50’s are unibody design, so no frame/body separation, it’s all one piece. A subframe drop is more like a bracket lift that you often see done on half ton pickups.
It is indeed! The SFD is super fresh, He's just waiting for his otherwise great tires to wear down a little more. It's not a big deal to miss out on the 1" of clearance from going 31's -> 33's, and the MPG in the interim is nice as well.
I think so…. If you look up SFD (Sub Frame Drop) installs you may see some more pics and info. Since you can drop the sub frame, I’d assume it’s one piece
In my experience, no. If you need a rear diff skid you’re probably also encouting terrain that requires: lockers, winches, sliders, and full underbelly skids plates. It’s pretty easy to avoid dragging the rear diff. You’ll know if and when you really need one.
You need to get in touch with the makers of the kit on NPORA. Check out this link: www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/46313-the-pines-to-spines-sfd-kit/?tab=comments#comment-823755

I have a Nissan Pathfinder 2001 LE 3.5 in northern Mexico, it works very good, greetings to all
Man I can’t wait to finish my R50 build. This is goals.
Man that thing is a beast thank you for the video, most of those mods I can do here in Oz
Nice pathfinder 💪👍
Just bought a 99 infinity qx4 looking for ideas 😂 this thing is ext what I was looking to do to mine
thanks for video. what about reliability differences between pre and facelift models? some say that pre facelift is generally more reliable.
Anything with the VG33E is going to be more reliable than the VQ35DE. But some facelifts have the VG33E

Ya I realized that as I was uploading it. That's the big deal on that setup, just kind of difficult to get a good angle of haha.
@grizzlypath I'll send you some shots on IG!
Pathy excellent off road vehicle . One thing it’s hard to find with out rust
They're very easy to find without rust on the west coast...
Arizona👍🏼
I'm curious, are those wheels extended out, wider or spaced seems wider than mine
best pathfinder build on youtube🤙🏼🤙🏼
Flagship is a good way to describe this pre-facelift R50
Sweet rig !!!
It definitely is!
Badass Pathfinder
I'd like to know what he did with his washer and coolant reservoir
Hi are those rear coil springs with part number nrc 9448 or nrc 9449? Thank you.
9448 coils
What kind of paint you used for the black bumper and fenders? Thanks
He had them professionally bedlined if I recall correctly

You’re gonna have to trim the fenders on anything larger than a 31” tire

3.4 will make the track width unnecessarily wide. You could do it, but unless you have a good reason for it I feel like 3.75 would be better

How much cost that lift

How much for this truck? Awesome. Rather get this then waiting for a Bronco for a year.
I estimate it would cost roughly 7-10k to replicate this build, depending on who does your work and what particular parts you choose.

It’s pretty easy to avoid dragging the rear diff. You’ll know if and when you really need one.
Do you recommend installing a snorkel to the R50? And do you know where can I buy one?
No one makes a snorkel for the R50.
Some people use a Navarra snorkel, lol it’s close to the right shape and size.
Do you know if it’s the Navarra D22?
It appears so. Here's an old thread: www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/13870-install-arb-navara-snorkel-on-your-r50/
Thanks I appreciate your help
What tail light gourds are those?
Probably off of eBay
Are those stock fender flares?
Stock, bedlined
really cool! are those fabricated front tow points or just painted stock tow points?
Stock, Painted.
Stock tow hooks are designed for towing. Dynamically recovering from them may result in damage, just fyi.
How much money is necessary to do it to a custom 99?
At this point I was about 3k deep. Not too bad. Fully rebuilt suspension front and rear, with SFD, lift, tires.
What front bumper is he running?
Cut up Stock bumper, brush guard from a junkyard
Where can i buy the sub frame drop kits? Thanks
Custom nab system ?? I’m interested!!!!

They’re OEM
Where can I get the subframe drop?
