Losing a pet

- This is a video response to the Shaytards videos about Malachi and what they have been going through with losing him. I wanted to share some of my own thoughts and feelings about my own pet loss and hopefully it may help someone else. I wrote a letter to my dog when I was 16, very shortly after she died. This is that letter some of the things I remember her by.

The "Rainbow Bridge" That I mention is this poem:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am sorry I didn't see this sooner. I am very sorry for your loss. I had a dog and a cat die of cancer as well, and watching them suffer is really horrible. I understand the feelings, and having them die in your arms is always a good and a bad. It feels good to be able to comfort them when they are going, but you can also feel them "leave" and it really tears you up. I hope you are doing alright and I hope the pain gets better. Remembering the good/funny times has helped me so much. RIP Belle.

Omg i cried when you starting reading the letter:(' its like i was reading it because I lost my dog in 2010 and it was difficult because she died infront of me. And she was always there for me since I was a baby:( miss her so much and omg I cant stop crying because seeing tou sad made me sad too:(. " sorry about my bad english.." :(
I just lost my dog a few hours ago! She was old and died giving birth I had no idea she was even having trouble:( but this video really made me smile and made me feel better and gave me great ideas as well! Thank you!:)
i am very sorry. my old roomie had a guinea pig and i loved that little buggar. i hope you are doing okay. Bella now ha all the nummies she can eat!
Wow! A few hours ago? I am really sorry. I have had years to deal with her death, but I remember what it was like just after she passed. Did her puppies live? If they did, then at least part of her will live on. If not, then she has company where she went. I hope you are doing okay.
..My dog passed away yesterday.. :'( She wasn't old, no diseases..I'm heartbroken.. :(
i just lost my dog saturday and its really hard im 18 and ive had her since i was 2 so she was just about the same age as ur dog. i was thinking of getting some kind of tattoo as well, ik im not tht one crazy guy tht gets a tat lol. any way ur dog sounds great.
my dog had cancer in her lungs and her last few months she couldnt really eat and lost about 30-40 pounds, we took her to the vet that morning after she coughed up part of the cancer in her lungs, so she died in my arms and it keeps
