    In February 1974, upon his arrival at DVI Prison in Tracy, CA, Claudy Clay, a member of the East Side Bishops, faced inquiries about his acquaintance Raymond Washington and the ensuing clash with the Black Guerilla Family. Born in Los Angeles in 1955, Claudy Clay was raised on the east side of South Los Angeles. He attended Russel Elementary and Drew Jr High School before leaving Jefferson High School. His path ultimately led him to the California Department of Corrections in 1973. It was in 1974 that he was incarcerated at Tracy Prison, where he found himself reunited with his childhood friend, Raymond Washington.

    Claudy mentioned an alleged BGF member, named Shujaa. Who back in 1973 was accused of killing a CO. He was put on Death row, but eventually got off, and is free.
    This is the same Shujaa that Big Reebo, said he fired on in his interview and got cut up for it.
    Kevmac interviews always have a connection. This is what makes his interviews unique.

    When Raymond went to prison BGF was at the height of it's Power. Watch Mundo channel and the years 71,72 and 73 was the bloodiest years in CDC history. BGF was putting in work on the CO's especially after they killed W.L Nolan a key BGF Player.

      Which is consistent with Claudy Clays big homie killing a CO… and him going on a mission and being in the hole with a lot of those dudes.
      Claudy got there in 74’ when a lot of BGF was in the hole for assaults on staff. And the Crips started getting up there in 73’ and like he said some joined BGF but he doesn’t want to say their names. He said he grew up with them since kids.

      Forget all of the bunk movies they be rolling out at the theaters; we need cold films that show our history dealing with the racist CDC from '71-'73. Younger generations in Cali need to know how their fathers and grandfathers made it out of that war zone. Personally, I will say this again (as I have said on KMV several times):
      The Almighty has always been with us. With the dismantling of the BGF and throwing most of them in control/ isolation units the Almighty prepared the CRIPS to come into the CDC to give us a second round of protection from racist CDC prisoncrats.
      KMV, this is great history here.

    Now you guys can see why the Bay Area (Frisco, Oakland, East Palo Alto, Richmond, Vallejo, Marin, Pittsburg) rejected being bloods and crips. The Bay Area already had a strong revolutionary structure and foundation. The panthers as well as other black revolutionary and black power organizations were so strong in the bay started in the late 50s and 60s. That influence spread all across the country. LA was even influenced initially by the panthers as well ( Bunchy Carter etc)
    But unfortunately, the government dismantled and infiltrated the panthers, killed the leaders, jailed key members and ultimately thwarted the movement. Hence making room for street gangs. ( Bloods and Crips) to thrive in LA.
    LA was on some shoot and harm your brother, but the bay was about fighting against the system, black power, unity and black revolution. 2 completely different ideologies. It’s really sad and unfortunate that the bloods and crips for the most part couldn’t adopt that mindset. Of course there were many B’s and C’s that joined the BGF
    To this day, there aren’t any crip or blood sets in the bay. There may be some off brands here and there. But there are ZERO reputable blood or crip sets. Dudes from the bay hit the pen and push 415/ Kumi/ BGF car.

    • @complexblackness
      @complexblackness ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Many Brothers from LA who were born in the late 1930s and in the 40s, had a revolutionary mindset. Which is why they were consistently fighting against the LAPD and LA County Sheriff's. 65 Watts Rebellion popped and the Brothers cracked it off against CHP and LAPD.
      Before the Panthers kept watch on police, The Slausons had C.A.P (Community Alert Patrol), they would watch the police. So it looks like despite being hundreds of miles away from each other. They had the same ideas, which would make sense. Just like the Deacons for Defense and others around the country.
      With some exception like Kenneth Carter and Lorenzo Benton. It's interesting what literally a 10yr difference in birthdates can do, in terms of mindset.
      Then by the time the Crip generation that was born in the 60s, came along there was really no true revolutionary mindset. Due to various factors some of which you named.
      The Government did a good job. The government created problems has had a good run. We will get it right though.

    Peace too everyone on this post and those whom made a comment. First off, I'd like to thank Kev Mac and his tremendous creative efforts in bringing forth this amazing product of historical information concerning California gang's (mainly Los Angeles County). Based on this interview with the OG Claudy..I must say I'm very curious to see and read no one challenged (Claudy's) his claims of getting to Tracy and finding out ,that The Founder of the Crips RAYMOND WASHINGTON was in the hole and no one spoke u to help Raymond until he got there ?? an individual that was NOT OF THE SAME GANG FACTION..and they so easily let Raymond walk the MAIN LINE, because of this brother who said he was his friend??? Really??? Smh.. I see how many times I get dissed IF I POST MY COMMENTS due too the fact I never been too prison or gang banged I get dissed...and some times I'm told I can't speak....but yet in still.. they let a sell out play the most notorious and famous crip of them all..BY A COMEDIAN..yup Jamie Foxx played Tookie..are we really interested in real or WHAT IS REAL AT THE TIME OF THE TOPIC?... think Claudy is Jimmy's panter...all of a sudden an opposite so-called friend and potential difference of gang ideology..was the 1 to get him to walk the MAIN LINE??? Remember... Raymond Washington movie is supposed 2 be getting ready 2 be done. Let that sink in...u know if you got bad shit too say about the founder most likely it won't make the cut...but if you say good things it will help the movie sell .and possibly the individual (s) telling there so-called, GOOD STORIES about Raymond will be compensated. Peace to all , please do not respond with emotions..may the most high bless all who seek blessings.

Every time u OGs talk about the start of the war the same thing resinates, he killed a six O & no one from 8tray new his name and he disappeared.... Coeintel pro at its finest, it sounds like a government job yet no one ever thought black panther like focus was the reason, yet this man disappeared. If I was ivestigative I would start looking at la gang released public records like they do UFOS, through goverment offices. He paroled, and can be found with a simple search.
      He’s left one comment and reached out to me once to inform me he’s working on a a project regarding the incident.

      @@kreid9 So you're saying Malcom X Bodyguard was in Oakland, at the time of the Formation of the Panthers in 1966?
      You do realize that Malcom X was assassinated in February 1965 right? Almost two years (20 months passed) before the Official date of the Panthers being formed in October 1966.
      Maybe you meant his former bodyguard, was there on a few campuses on the east coast. When those chapters were being formed in 67 and 68.

    His story doesn't make sense time line wise unless I miss something. Because if Raymond got there in 73 he couldn't have had da numbers to go against BGF. Like cutes said when he got there they were black coats not outwardly claiming crips so what year is this brother talking about when they started to have da numbers over bgf ?

    • @KevMacVideos
      @KevMacVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +14

      He’s actually saying Raymond had already been there in 1973… and the BGF got at him. He clearly stated BGF was bigger but when he got there in 74 (February) and the Crips was getting deep.
      He states one name and says he not saying the others because they are up for parole. If you know about the crimes and the wars of 1972 and 1973 you will realize the Crips started to pour into Tracy after trial at that time.
      When he says 5-1 I agree that sounds like a stretch but logically thinking, all the BGF wasn’t located in Tracy on the mainline. They were spread out in several prisons and in the hole. Meanwhile, the Crips was all landing in Tracy to begin their tours.
      Crips didn’t flood the entire prison system until approximately 1980 and those wars was centrally located in Folsom.

      @@bokardithetaomicron4932 Great point. What was the politics like at that time. I'm sure there was some laws or State lawmakers that stood out. There is always laws drafted to contain black youth or remove them from society. And being that the BGF was the predominant black group inside the walls we can honestly say most BGF members were given unfair sentences or charges in the era of Jim Crow legislation.

    • @KevMacVideos
      @KevMacVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      August 3rd… I know you’re being sarcastic but if you listen you may just learn something. There’s a lot of crips that hit the system in 1973 based on their 1972 and 1973 convictions.
      Once you understand that, and the fact Raymond was recruiting Crips on the yard before he was stabbed, you can start doing the math.
      At which point, you may just sit back and realize that every member of the BGF wasn’t in Tracy. There was also San Quentin, Soledad, and Folsom. Meanwhile the Crips was hitting Tracy.
