No one ever dreamed of this sort of content so readily available. Forget mafia movies. These people are natural storytellers
Lol well they weren’t aloud to talk about these stories for so many years
These people...?
True dat
Most of it is just that. Stories
Italians are the biggest bullsh!tters known to man. Lazy and will scam and connive every penny they can get. The mafia just doesn’t hide it everyday Italian Americans do.
THIS is how you interview someone. NO interruptions, NO interjections from the interviewer to grab some spotlight. I think he asked maybe 2 questions and just let Anthony roll for an hour. GREAT JOB
I think he edits the questions out.
That's how Mark rolls with everyone.
@@bigsweetc6not at all.. I am sure yeah some times but most the time he let's people ramble.
Of course, the money is rolling in off of someone else's misery. It's what he does best. What a great guy. #genius 😑
No one is forced to do these interviews and a lot of them are from people asking to do it. They literally email him their info and a little of their backstory on camera @@gilyp4205
Anthony was my counselor in my treatment center i was in as a resident in south florida and at a time i was barely surving.. and i was a stubborn 22 year old .. i learned alot from him and this is awesome too see
You're lucky he didn't put a hit on you for being stubborn.
@@drooshmaroosh8261🤡
@@eastsde5 CONGRATULATIONS on your sobriety. God knows how hard it is to kick. God bless.
Fair play to you recovery is a hard thing to beat and stay clean. We'll done keep it up. Anthony is passing it on.
@@eastsde5 We do recover 🙂
“So I packed up, got my cat Mikey and we got in the car…”. Best line of the whole interview.
✨ agreed
Not just the best - the ONLY one that matters. Oh.. I meant, meow.
I had an erector set. 😂
I thought I heard that correctly! He has a cat named Mikey’😂
This channel is like watching a movie and getting to have a one-on-one conversation with the characters. It's incredibly fascinating!
Veryyyy
Well put!
Agree , my imagination goes crazy.
Good way of looking at it.
Yes, agreed, like a window into a different world. This channel is really good.
Mark deserves his own Netflix series
I don’t even have a Netflix account , he just deserves so much recognition.
Nobody deserves servitude after being self-made.
Only my opinion, though.
He has 5.6 million subscribers.. I think he's recognized
Netflix has 40 million viewers TH-cam has 2 billion. I think he's far beyond Netflix. Netflix doesn't deserve mark
Netflix isn't a source of truth.
@@hahaha9076 That a diamond comment 💎
You can tell this guy is truly honest. The way he speaks from the past ! So impressed you changed your life direction !
Exactly what I thought as well. Not at all like Sammy...
Mark has really gone to another level with these mob interviews. Absolutely fascinating view into something otherworldly.
😂😂😂😂😂
You couldn't have a better voice if you are in the Mafia.
I sound the same way...
Born and raised in Brooklyn.
@@metsfanatic6270 Same here, but the closest moment i was around mob, 'ts when i was ten, walking boardwalk near tatiana on brighton, where drunk russian dudes shootin' h converged. No Tony Soprano speaking funny there was, no sir.
@@locomotion6739 Brighton Beach
His voice is exactly how I thought it would be
Even though Sammy has a more captivating story, I truly believe this guy has changed in a bigger more meaningful way.
Sammy is a moron
This guy is more humble. Sammy tells a good story, but his ego stops him from being completely honest a lot of the time.
Sammy didn't change lmao if he could be in the mob he would be right now.
Sammy Embellishes the truth. Every story he has, the other guys are dead.
@@thedonofthsht76-58hahaha 💯 he’d join tomorrow.
The Mafia guys interviews are definitely my guilty pleasure! When they talk, I hear Tony Bennett or Frank Sinatra singing in the background.
New York, New York, I'm coming to town, yea.
Those beautiful songs are portrayed in movies my friend. A real crime family will blend in front of your eyes. They hardly listen to music and their lives are far from cinematic
Me tooo 😊
@@Chopper140 Facts!
You sound like you admire them..
These Mob interviews are Solid Gold 🙏🙌
Had the pleasure of worrying with Anthony a few years back. Taught me a handful of things about working in a drug and alcohol rehab. The second day I knew him before I even heard about who he was he brought me breakfast to work. Super genuine guy, almost did a back flip when I saw this. Love ya Joe, so happy to see you riding your wave.
You may want to change "worrying with Anthony" to "working with Anthony". 🤗
*“They didn’t know how to earn money. The only way they made money was to take it from guys who knew how to make money.”* 🔥 This applies to so many people. 😩
Is he describing Congress?
@@danielj.rhoads1622 Wall Street?
If you want money you got to find a way to take it from someone else
You know you're in the Mafia when your cat is called 'Mikey'. The cat is probably in line to be made
Unless his last name is Palmice... Then you might have a friend who's too attached to his jacket
They pricked his paw 🩸
His sobriety is inspiring!
@TwoThree-m6iAre you trying to say he lied about being an addict or that lied about being sober?
@TwoThree-m6i that's something folks don't tend to not be genuine about, because they wouldn't elaborate on it if it wasn't a part of their life. I agree, social media isn't the best source of truth haha, but I believe him
❤ BEST NEW YORK ACCENT EVER !
Anthony could do voice overs and be a narrator for sure .
Please do more Mafia related interviews. Their stories are absolutely fascinating.
“The government’s getting their end” 💯
Specifically the big guy gets his 10%
Gotta pay to play. Business 101
I've been following Anthony for years now. One of the most honest and authentic former mobster on TH-cam. True gentleman 👌
Yes such a good man
“ honest and authentic”? LMAO!
he was a junk box his father was embarrassed by him.
You People are so gullible.
I think you mean Joey Merlino

Another excellent interview, Mark. I admire Anthony’s story and his life’s complete 180. He’s the real deal. ❤
The stories you collect are amazing but your channel is also just an unbelievable archive of American English. If I ever need to tell one of my friends from abroad what an AUTHENTIC New York accent is, for example, I'm sending them to THIS video.
It’s just English.
We lost the Mid-Atlantic accent. Guess ya gotta watch old movies for that
IT'S AII ABOUT BECOMING A BETTER PERSON.. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO MARK
This oral history format of storytelling is thee best! I could listen to Anthony all day! Great story!
If there's one thing I'm very happy my parents taught me, it's about being content with your life. That life isn't all about money - it's important to have money to pay your bills and have some things you want, but that being happy with your decisions and life/relationships are what matters most, money is just a tool to allow you to achieve that but by no means the most important thing.
the way he said "i dont wanna be no fucking brick layer"
Brick lay-ah 😅
Comedy
It’s hard work!
@@Malmo117of course but can be shit pay.
If you call 60$ an hour sht pay then you have the right too. I made 150k in the mason union
Mr. Ruggiano is a powerful teacher. An elder with brilliant, powerful insight. He has abundant wisdom and knowledge to share from what he has lived through and learned.
Respect.
Contentment is his peace. God bless him ❤
Amazing story Anthony. Very strong statement when you stated”I was content”!! God bless you have a wonderful life!!!
Dude! Good for you on everything, especially going back to school. You should be damned proud of yourself!
Excellent work, with dignity and respect and seriousness. As a professor of Sociology, for my students, this is what I show as the right way of doing ethnographic interviews for the sake of a truthful sociological understanding. Excellent channel.
This is the absolute best video you have ever done!
God bless Anthony!

Love to hear a good redemption story. Even when you’re down and feel like the world is against you, you can still make a change. Its never too late. #HappinessIsAnInsideOutJob.
I didn't think I would ever give a thumbs up for an ex Mafia Mobster. However, I applaud Anthony for using his "free will" and turning his life around to become a better human being. Nobody has chosen to be the person that they are, but God gives us a bit of free will to see the errors of our ways and to recondition ourselves. Being "Content" and at peace, shows us that we are doing things right.
God gives us free will? Prove it. You assume what comforts you.
Being Humble & 😊 Happy.
This has to be the one of the most fascinating interviews I've seen in a long time. I was totally spellbound by this one. Thank you Mark for sharing this and just letting him tell his story.
Amazing interview. God Bless you Anthony. 🙏🏻
Hi Dad was right about corrupt government. It's the most powerful criminal organization and doesn't like competition.
Maybe. At least they pick up my trash and lock up people.
Except the IRS isn't going to break my legs if if don't pay my taxes.
@@rkatufus But they will put you in a cage
@@momalwayssaiddontplayballi3973 Highly unlikely, ordinary people like me get charged interest and penalty and work out a payment plan (if necessary).
There are parallels but i dont agree with you. Some critical differences: democratic elections, due process of law. If you are one of those people who claims those don't exist in this country, I invite you to move somewhere they really don't exist. I've lived in countries with authoritarian governments and am profoundly grateful I am a US Citizen.
Very touching interview, listening to Anthony made me cry real tears. Thank you for sharing!
When I was in my youth I hustled lemonade at 10 cents a cup. Kicking up 2 points to the Lemonini family, I moved up the ladder and got promoted to distribution and rind collection.
Um that’s Gay
Happiness is an inside out job 😭😍 who knew I’d learn so much from an ex mobster?!
I've seen many of these interviews on this channel and this one is my favorite. Thanks for doing this interview guys its a gem.
I would listen to this guy again. I bet he has some kickass stories from the 70s.

So many life lessons in your story. Then it all ends with being content. So simple and I get it. Thanks for sharing.
Good interview Mark. I enjoyed it. Thank you. Congrations to this man on his clean time and fir turning his life around.

Laziness and a lack of a marketable skill caused him to go down a path of killing people and jail. In the end he saved himself by working in recovery which is a miracle for him. All these toughguy criminals go to jail and sing like birds when the cops press them. Stay in school until you get a legal skill set and stay away from drugs and alcohol.
Loved this!! So interesting and he is so charismatic! We want part II
I like these interviews 10x more than the typical mob movie. These men are far more relatable and their stories are much more complex and genuine, and relatable.
This man had some real problems to sort and deal with! He made a really good life from what he was given, much admiration!
One of the best episodes. Thanks so much!
Completely awesome interview! Thank you for sharing 😊and thank you for ur humbleness ❤❤❤❤
I’m just an ordinary retired auto worker from Ind and I think you were fascinating Anthony and I’m sure it took a lot of courage to go thru with this . Thank you, Mark! You have the best content on TH-cam. You don't interrupt and allow people to talk freely.
Fat Andy and Tony Lee were real Gangsters, no one will ever talk down about them, they both lived their lives as gangsters and they were known all over the City. Thank you, for this fantastic interview.
I've heard a few former Mafia members talk badly about Ruggiero. I've a couple of stories about him being a degenerate jerk off who stole from another member and then had them killed. If that's something to hold the dude in some sort of high social status then I'm living in a different world.
If you told me there would be in depth uncensored interviews with actual mobsters on TH-cam 10 years ago I would’ve just looked at you funny but this is genuinely amazing
Mark is really hitting it out of the park with these Mobster interviews. Now THIS is the definitive soft white underbelly.
"The government is getting their end" Crazy but true.
Far left people think communism is possible, far right people think that the society they enjoy can happen without taxes, and they're both morons.
One of the first ones here! I was randomly enough awake watching a Michael Franzese interview at 5am then this was just posted perfect no sleep tonight 😅
Anthony you are a True Inspiration! The courage it takes to restart your life is No Easy Feat. Please continue to Fulfill Your REAL Purpose in life, Many people need it and will be Grateful for it! Good Luck and God Bless…❤
that shit was dope! finally hearing a story about the mob that weve all heard so much and watched movies about and Anthony is a real one!! keep em coming !
I can listen to this guy all day .
The best thing he said was you have to be happy on the inside first! Congratulations on your clean time. 💋❤️🙏
"I got my cat Mikey!" absolutely the best line I'VE ever heard. Of course a gangster would name his cat Mikey.
I love that you're interviewing some people that can be part of the solution to the tragic cycle of drug and gang culture. Thank u both so much for saving lives!
Wow these interviews are the best you've done.

Great interview, We can see that people change and that a lot of people a destined to their fate due to their surroundings. And wisdom comes with age and experience but we can only wish that we had that when we where young, but it always comes after we do all the dumb stuff in our lives. Hope for the best for Anthony and his family.
