Hey everyone, with the final part released I'd like to thank everyone who is watching the series and a special thanks to those who have purchased the course available at blendermarket.com/products/game-character-tutorial-series. The complete course includes videos for download, detailed step-by-step tutorial notes, starting files and the finished character (or you could jump on the Patreon for a month, download what you want and then bounce). Happy Blendering and feel free to leave comments on what game development tutorials you may want to see next!
Hi, would like to ask if there's any reason for me to not combine all details of the character onto the base character mesh? I have a hard time making sure details don't clip inside the character mesh. I do have two texture materials, one for the character and one for the details, is it possible to have a mesh with multiple materials in unreal?
ok so i have this model from the internet in FBX and in order to add the auto weights I had to split the mesh by its materials ( I first split it by loose parts but that was all kinds of fucked, strands of hair, eyebrows, little details on boots. Did not want & do not have the expertise to deal with that shit ) but now that I've done it by material the mesh tears and other random parts of the model are connected to certain bones, its a shit show and I do not know what to do.
