Thank you for the review. I saw this bike at Best Buy and the smaller tires stood out to me. It's wonderful that it was a comfortable ride for you. This bike is definitely a contender for me.
Glad it was helpful! The tires keep you close to the ground for a more controlled ride on an otherwise powerful ebike! You can also get the Tyson on their website: shrsl.com/4751c (same price + they have a nice accessories package deal). Enjoy!
@@frankdrebin6123 I really enjoy it. I use it to travel around the neighborhood to run errands that I don’t want or need to drive for. I recommend identifying an e bike shop near you that can support with potential repairs and to review your assembly. Optional, not necessary. The bike was bigger than I anticipated but fine for me. I’m 6’ 185lbs.
Nice review but you should show the battery. Can you take it out and charge it off the bike? How much does the bike weigh without the battery? ? What is the peak power of the motor? I cant find this info on their web site.
Thanks! You can easily charge the battery on the ebike. However, it can also be removed by folding the bike and using the key to slide out the battery from the frame. I'd say removing the battery takes around 8-9 lbs off the bike. As for the peak, it's a 750W battery but certainly rides like it has 1000W peak power! Heybike says it has more power "even at lower speeds"... not sure why they don't report peak power.
I agree! I’m not a fan of young teens riding e-bikes, but it’s becoming popular. So, a few things to look for: Less torque (so the bike doesn’t get up to speed too fast); buy a bike with max power assist of 20mph; make sure he fits well on the bike; and consider a quality brand offering a torque sensor, so he doesn’t take off too fast into an intersection. Try Aventon alnk.to/4Mzz7TJ or Ride1Up go.ride1up.com/SH8
Yes, I provide my height in most of my videos... in case I missed it in this one, I'm 5'1". I recommend comparing your inseam measurement with the size chart that Heybike provides here ( shrsl.com/4751c )
thx for the info. i find that the specs provided by most manufactures should be taken with a large grain of salt . i live rurally so don't have easy access to showrooms or test drives. your info is a massive help!@@ebikingtoday
@@hughwilliams4561 You're welcome and nice to hear! Yes, everyone fits differently and not all specs are exact. I find that considering your inseam and the "reach" to the handlebars helps the most.
Thanks John... nice to hear! I haven't reviewed the Ranger yet but I did just review a similar bike but with an added torque sensor: th-cam.com/video/YtTp3TnLtjM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oKHuWsnb2qwtD8uE
They're a bit hard to compare since they have different size wheels and one is a folding bike. In general, I'd choose the Tyson if I planned on transporting it often or traveling long distances. If you're not sure you want/need a folding ebike, then I'd go with the Aventure.2 :)
Owners Manual has no description or instructions how to turn it on - do you insert the key somewhere, for security? Can you use it without bringing your phone with you? Also, I heard the app requires an annual fee, is that true? Also, to add to the cons, replacement battery (every 3-5 years) costs $600, that’s almost half the cost of the bike.
It turns on like most by pushing a button on the controller and I'm not aware of an annual fee for the app. We used it without paying anything. The key is only used for removing the battery from the frame, once the bike is folded. And it's unlikely you'll need to replace the battery that often unless you commute daily. Most batteries offer 800-1000 full charges and battery costs are more competitive than they were!
A little disappointed that you didn’t address the common complaints others have. They’re not small. One is that the handlebars constantly loosen and come out of alignment with the front wheel. The other is that the readout is unclear regarding charge level making one uncertain how much power is left.
Good review just had to stay longer than necessary because extra words not needed. I prefer getting to the point without unnecessary extra chatter. Also woman was folding the bike on the video incorrectly and actually can injure yourself doing it that way. Overall still ok video
What's your favorite Tyson feature?!
Definitely the tires. turn signals in front too
@@sly592 I think the front turn signals are pretty unusual!
I would say the turn signals and the look and range.. as for con I would say the weight and im not sure if the battery can be taken out..
@@joellee6142 Yes, weight is a con on all of the fat tire e-bikes! Thankfully, the battery is removable 😃

I like the way they have the back swing arm designed; wish they would have put 24"x3" tires in those mag rims.
There's quite a lot of power and speed in this bike. But it'd definitely be interesting with 24" tires!
Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow, can’t wait !
Congrats 🎉🎈

Congratulations! You're going to have soooo much fun!

When you put the battery back do you have to use the key again to lock it in?
@@jeembaymusic5271 Yes, the key goes into the bottom of the battery.
Is there different power modes? My teenager wants an Ebike but i dont want him going 28mph. Is there one you would recommend for a 13 year old?

Have you reviewed the EUYBIKE K6 Pro?
No, sorry I haven’t.
I want a folding bike to take to trails (so I don't have to ride 20 miles just to get to one). Is this easy enough to get in and out of car?
Marc is shown lifting it into the car in the video. If you're strong enough, it's no problem!
Love your honest reviews, the pros & cons. Have you reviewed the HeyBike Ranger S?

Thanks for bringing those up... I didn't have any trouble with the handlebars though
Before you buy any e bike ask yourself:Do you really need a folding e bike or not? Otherwise just buy a normal, non folding model.
True!
Duh!
I'm surprised how easily a little person like you folded it 😂
It was wayyyy easier than I thought it would be. The easy holding handle helped a ton!

Definitely 😎
