- It took me a few days to film/edit this and actually let everyone know ... Every time I would start to film or edit anything about it I would just break down and sob..
he was a good snail..
so, so special and unique.
the bestest snail.
This isn't just a video post, it is a procamation to the snail heavens, gods and goddesses, to let them know just how damn special Harvey was. how unique.
an absolute STUNNING gift from mother nature..
a gift.
he truly was.

Last week I lost one of my two founding snails. I estimate he was 15 or 16 months old at time of death. I had him in my possession for a full year, and when I got him he was already old enough to start mating within a week or two. I'm not entirely sure how old a mystery snail has to be to start breeding, but it surely can't be less than 2 months, and probably 3 or 4 months? Anyways, he was a very big ol' snail, king of the tank! Very sad to lose, but he was extremely old and had many hundreds of babies that survived to adulthood, so a very productive life.
His wifey gold suffered a mantle collapse three months prior, but she would have been roughly a year old, so about the normal life span for a mystery snail. And now I keep their shells together, along with one of their little gold bois who didn't survive to full adulthood (his shell very sadly had multiple problems), as a little gold family on my shelf.
Hi, what happened to him? 😥 Why were you so affectionate to him, more then with others snails? So sorry!
