I first saw him on a tv show 4400 and it's great to see how far he's come.

Notice how most of them fled, but the three who stood and opened fire - Royce, the Russian, and Hanzo - are the only ones who successfully managed to a kill a Predator.
When I rewatched this a few months ago, I noticed and realized that. I’m glad others noticed too..

Well it helps that those three were the only ones who had guns to fire at them. Stans and Edwin only had knives so how exactly were they gonna open fire at the Predators? Isabela had a gun but it was a sniper rifle so it wouldn’t have done much good in a close range firefight anyways. So really who else but those three could have had a chance to fight the Preds?
I hate whoever decided to not continue this idea of a movie. This captures what we all want, not damn civilians with their useless drama.
So, I guess soldiers are launch from somewhere, kill everyone, use their fallen ones to recycle and go to their sarcophagous again, waiting the next deployment. No drama, no vets center or traumatized soldiers trying to return to a normal life after the struggle. Guess that doesn't exists. They were just hidden civilians. It's a mystery how some of you can actually have the same brain I do and barely use to walk, breathe and masturbate, instead of actually learn with it. It amazes me how this people with this level of idiocy lives.
actually they continue this story in comic...tye super observed brody and the girl for awhile and it seem brody are worthy opponent and the super sent brody an predator armor kinda they want the game become more fun and challenging by giving brody the same tech as they...also the supe sent an a supe predator with 4 freaking arms....that right 4 arms!!! and brody kinda become like nolan a little bit.

anyways, back on topic, i loved the concept of this movie for sure as it actually gave me hope for the franchise.
Yeah predator movies are best when they are about action. Hunting or being hunted. The aspect of 2 I liked was that the predator was being hunted as well by the police and special forces, I didn't like how inept the special forces were in 2 compared to 1 however. Nothing beats special forces with some grit, awareness and training going against a predator. Whether that's the streets or the jungle works for me. The downside for this movie was, they were not a trained team, so it lacked that aspect of a team initially working together well but it did have the different specialists etc bringing some character to it and had plenty of action in it. - BTW nothing wrong with movies that have what that guy said with real life drama, but predator isn't about that at all for me.
I remember watching this in theaters. There was this dad and his young son sitting in front of me. Kid must have been around 5 and seemed pretty pumped to be there. " dont tell mom we watched this" lol he was a cool dad.
Went to a local theater to see this movie and the fucking movie looked like it was developed on toilet paper we walked out and they gave us coupons for future tickets they closed down a few months later lol

Yes, all the Predator movies are kid friendly family favourites.
I like to point out that that Russian went out like a boss shooting the predators while everybody else ran, and he's by himself.
Did you even watch the entire scene? Royce and that Yakuza guy also stayed.
He... Also had the only gun that you didn't need to reload for a long ass time. AA12 is only 20 shells per drum and it was on full auto so he burned through those at crazy speeds. The Yakuza man had a 9mm pistol and still held as long as he could and at best, that gun has 15 rounds. The only other person alive in their party that had a gun was the woman with a fucking sniper rifle and if you wanna blind fire a sniper, then you're a lunatic. The minigun can cover a large area VERY QUICKLY and not put a dent in it's bullets and is perfect as a cover tool while people fall back. Still running, just making sure to provide suppression so HE doesn't get shot in the back.

Really dumb how the predators can dodge past a minigun firing lots of rounds along with an aa12 shooting explosive rounds.
Plot twist...when brody yelled run..he was trying to help the predators escape the badass russian and his minigun..

The tone and tension of this film is goddamn amazing. You got a group of some of the worlds most dangerous and brutal killers shitting themselves scared being hunted by even bigger and terrifying killers

Idk this film was pretty great imo. Sure they are some inconsistencies but you cannot account for everything. Other films have their problems too.

I remember seeing the Original Predator in the theater in 1987, I was 7 and it does feel like a long time ago.
They should of made a sequel to this and started the new franchise with it
I read a lot of science-fiction, there is a ton-load of good action novels. Take David Drake's Hammer Slammers series for instance.
The story continues in the comics with Royce and that girl. But I hope they make it a movie too. It was a short story though.

Pretty much that guy uses predator technology and the girl fights alongside him, more humans are dropped for sport and eventually bigger and badder predators get involved on trying to kill royce. Its an interesting read. But I never got to read the full comics

Agreed . Liked the idea of a group of characters who normally might not be very sympathetic or likeable but in this context are the "good" guys and have to combine to use their various skills to try and survive...

I think that when they woke up the classic he thought it was the super predators coming back to torture him so him as soon as he was awoken he started shouting in defiance(or could of been insult, the yautja language is complicated).

I could be wrong but I believe that's because the blank rounds they fire in movies like this have nothing but propellent in them and no actual bullets, so all they actually fire is, well, a little explosion from the propellent being ignited when the firing pin hits the primer. I think that also explains the lack of recoil since there isn't as much pressure build up as there would be if it was forcing a bullet through the barrel. Don't quote me on any of this, it's just my guess from different movies I've seen
And the Minigun was like a flamethrower 🤦♂️
Think the director wanted some good old fireworks in gun battles, adds sauce to the movie.

Predator vs Arnold has outclassed all predator movies so far.
I always love action scenes where people are forced to tumble down hillsides. Great stunt work in those instances!
Thought this was the best scene. Royce flushes out the Predator(s) to see what he was dealing with. He had to sacrifice one in the group to do it though.
Loved that waterfall scene!

I'll give this film this much:
It has its issues and dumb loophole and moments but it is at least genuinely entertaining and that's more than can be said for some of the films.

As far a a true successor to the first one, its not terrible. Not great, but not terrible. Certainly the best we've gotten so far.

That movie is fun and interesting, with so much new things and ideas, isn't as good as the two first movies, but is an art picture comparing with the asshole called "Predator 2018".
I consider this to be as good as the rwo first movies.
It's good, but the pianist isn't suitable for the role of predator killer. He did it well, but no one is compared to Arnold Schwarzenegger. There is to many action, in the movie, and less fear and mystery, like in the two first movies. This movie is supposed to be fun, not scary. The Predator has to be scary. But this movie is so good, I accept it.
Capsy Dash Nahh.. The first is unrivaled and then followed by the second. This was just okay and I also liked ‘Alien vs Predator’ from 2004. I haven’t watched anyone of them more than once but I still watch the first one every few months.

Plus the prequel to this movie with Laurence Fishburnes character. Robert Rodriguez talked about possibly making a film on his character and the team he came in with. Of course the ending would be him betraying like the other last person alive. lol!

I'm just a little baffled by how the minigun missed all of them. Like in the original, it was one Yjatua (spelling?) And he had better and higher cover, but those three were pretty all in the kill box for that minigun.

This movie is good compared to recent ones. It's fun like a comic book and I thought they had some decent ideas.
This part of the scene literally made no sense for Royce. Predators can see body heat with thermal and he hasn't learned that they can't see body heat by being covered by mud yet. You know he wouldve been the first person to get killed because he split from the group and tried to hide in order to be clever.

man I wanted this to get a sequel so bad, the first Predator movie and this one are literally the best Predator movies we’ve gotten. Hopefully the rumor surrounding Tarantino writing the next Predator movie for Disney is true!
Agree!! Saw that rumor last week, supposedly Disney wants Robert Rodriguez to direct the next predator film with Quentin Tarantino set to write the script, also it will be a soft reboot ignoring the 2018 one and I'm glad for that

It's a mini gun firing super fast and one of the most fastest machine guns in the world. It's used on so many vehicles, choppers and even on anti air weaponry on battleships and cruisers.
It's no excuse for it not to hit anything that close
