I can't wait for the future seasons. I can see how this all is going to come together. When you know the bible you can see this. I just enjoy every episode and let it come without preconceived ideas or notions. I am just enjoying this ride. I know the Holy Spirit is guiding this show. Dallas fills in what the bible doesn't give us and I think its wonderful. I found this morning in my reading of Psalm 2: 12 where Nicodemus says to Jesus in this show on the roof. "Kiss the Son, least he be angry, and he perish from the way,....." I have learned to trust this show and let go and let God. This show has made the bible come to life for me. Thank you God and Holy Spirit for guiding this show. Congrats on the K Love award. God is so good ALL the time.
Have you read the complete Psalm 139 that Matthew and Mary Magdalene are trying to memorize? It is so beautiful. I didn't know it until I watched The Chosen
This episode was a masterpiece. Jesus’s miracles rearrange time and space and this disrupt in the timeline completely changes history. I love how it was shown in this episode. The music was incredible- especially that last scene, so so touching.
I absolutely love this! I’m watching season one over again until the next episode episode six comes out season two!! God bless you all and thank you for sharing this wonderful depiction of Jesus and his disciples😍😍😍💖💖💖🙏🏻🙏🏻✝️🙌
I noticed something in this recap without Simon Peter's dialog, I missed during the premier. I noticed a glimmer of Simon's internalizing of Jesus's gentle encouragement. Simon reassures and encourages Jesse in a matter of fact, genial way, that everything about Jesse's life has changed. Normally we think of these types of encounters as a plot wrap to move the storyline along to the next scene. I don't think so in this case. I think this is deliberate slowing down of Simon's normal go, go, go behavior to create a subtle reinforcement of the change in him. Brilliant!👏😉
This is my favorite episode so far! While it is a stretch that Simon the zealot & Jesse were brothers, it was wonderfully woven. To pick a favorite scene is difficult, so my top 4 are 1- the scene as Jesus passes the crosses, 2- when Simon the zealot says "I'll believe the Messiah has come when I see you walk" (Not word for word), 3- when Jesus says "Do you want to be healed"? (the tone of Jesus' voice was so impacting) & 4- as they are leaving the town- Jesus says "Sometimes you have to stir the water"! I watched this episode with a lump in my throat, an occasional smile, and tears.
I don't have a favorite episode but I do have a favorite show. Thank you, Dallas and all of the cast and crew. You are bringing us all a much needed message in a time of darkness and contention.
Not a Christian but I love your show and your passion. I will admit even as a non-religious person some of the scenes in particular do make me feel something There is just something about Jesus's story that is so inspirational and makes you feel sad but also good at the same time
First off I like to say that opening was the most to well written, well-put-together sequence of scenes that I've seen in any show or movie in my entire life not bluffing second off I never would have seen the comparison to the movie up until you pointed it out :-) thank you so much for consistently wowing us I can't wait to see what's next God bless you all💞🕊️✝️💖
This episode is my favorite out of the entire show. The cinematography ,music and acting was incredible and had the most powerful impact. I bawled my eyes out too 😂🤧
This was an amazing episode! So awesome how you told this story! Also my favorite scripture!! This was so impactful for me personally! I loved how you had Jesus ask the man at the pool “do you want to be healed” 3 times!! I feel that this is such and impactful piece of the scripture and I am grateful that you emphasized this! Also appreciate the additional details about the pool and that the healing aspects of the pool had pagan roots or superstitious. Love the additional characters! Thank you for bringing the Bible to life for me! You are all amazing and keep doing what your doing! ❤️
This episode was beautifully heart wrenching including the music, cinematography, and acting. I also found it intriging to get a glimpse into the life and culture and passion of the zealots.
I love the way you have written / filmed it, that if Jesus had come earlier, the zealot Simon would not have had the important meeting with his brother, where he is remembered on his letter - and had Jesus come 10 minutes later, Simon would have been dead . It's such a beautiful way to show that it can be vital to set some free, even on the Shabbat. Shalom from Denmark
I just loved how you began this episode; with me literally knowing nothing of what was going on, and then adding piece by piece like in a puzzle, and suddenly it all fell to place. I wept during the vignette music, but of course also at the 'failed' assassination scene . . . has anyone yet told you that you are doing a tremendous job?
I absolutely love this sooooo much, you guys are as intentional as Jesus was , thank you. I keep praying for you guys, this project is one for the ages.
Thank you for sharing the intent behind the angel. I'm German, so it's always a little bit funny to me, when people say that the King James is the only true translation. God bless you all!
Fantastic breakdown, Dallas. You’re a very well spoken and studied man, sir! Episode 4 was great, and the opening 9min were lovely. I loved the montage to get us connected with Jesse & Simon without having to dedicate 30min of backstory to them!
17:17 I have been there. I didn't even realize that I was clinging to my "I-am-no-good" identity, until I started seeing what I am in Christ. Then I felt how hard it was hard to let go of it. I was afraid, and so at first I didn't fully want to let go. Maybe I'm still hesitant - I'm not sure. But I definitely relate to this scene. Especially when Jesus tells Jesse that it's not about who isn't helping or how hard you've tried. It's all about Jesus, and because he is enough, he won't accept our excuses - but as with Jesse, he is compassionate and understanding of our fears. He adresses them in love and assures us that he is enough. Wonderful scene ♥️
Shalom from Nepal!!! Thank you DJ for this amazing portrayal of characters in The Chosen .. it's like the Bible coming alive thru these characters!! God bless you and ur amazing team!!! :)
This was the first episode that had me bawling the entire episode! It was such a powerful way of storytelling and the episode itself is so beautifully shot. 12/10!
Hi Dallas, it is so fascinating to watch, listen and analyze your description and explanation of story of episode 4:season 2. You express so much with your hands, it’s like you’re saying “gather around and hear this view of Biblical possibilities”. The very important reality in this entire production is, all accounts we have to work from were indeed written by human beings, just like us. This work Dallas is so valuable and potent because logic tells us, no matter the century, most discover we do need some kind of higher power than ourselves, giving birth to superstitions, paganism, even creating “savers and saviors” to give us hope from the struggles of life. It’s been 2000 years. None can really know what really happened long ago. Yet, there is the “illusive” something, a feeling, that’s very real, a bit of the story of Jesus is true; it’s really quite undeniable. You’re “stirring the water” Dallas, imo you are creating “more of the story” as God is telling you and your incredible writers to say and do to us in this NOW. My fav episode by far! Keep stirring, it is stunning!!!
We love it! Thank you, Dallas! We don’t follow after every “Jesus show”, but hearing what you were doing with “the shepherd” we rejoiced over the truths you drew out and have been continuing to rejoice as we watch each newly released episode and the extra details on TH-cam for the Chosen. Thank you for the rich history and possible background detail you bring out while being so careful to follow the meaning and intention of the scriptures! Being one who avidly searches the scriptures and meditating in them, I am refreshed by the great job you and the team are doing! Keep doing all for our Creator’s glory! We are praying for each of you!
This episode is like a mini movie. If I had just watched it on TV and knew nothing about the show, I would be wondering if there was anymore to see. Fantastic job! It was an intense episode!
I'm GLAD that the writers present backstories that are plausible, because it helps me to put a context to the narrative. 😊 I don't have an imagination that lets me think of the scenario in a realistic way. When I read the passage in the Bible, I tend to think of the actions and words as static.
I have watched this episode and the others everyday since it was aired. Crazy I know but so helpful for me to go back and read John and Matthew and to learn more about the disciples. The part that touch the most was Jesus end of the day so drained from helping and mother Mary having and opportunity to help her son. It brings tears to my eyes on so many levels. It makes me feel like asking God for help when so many others are in more need I am in they way so I try not ask so other can receive. Thank you Dallas continue being used by God because he loves you. Amazing.
Are you going to do the Deep Dive with the priest, the rabbi, and the evangelical professor? I found it most helpful. It gave me a deeper understanding of all perspectives.
This is what Jesus asked Jesse, "Do you want to be healed?" We are all our own Jesse. We want to be healed, and we want to be healed by God for He alone can heal us. He is all we need. 🙌 Episode 4 is so great. Every episode is great~ 💙 Praise the Lord for this show! God bless, brethren paying it forward! 🙌❤️☝️May God continue to bless you to continue to support this show! And may God continue to keep you safe and healthy!
The camera operators and cinematographer do a superb job. Sometimes as I watch The Chosen I pay special attention to the filming and find it stunning. Angles, lighting, distance, filming on rails, filming with handhelds, and more are producing a wonderful series; don’t change a thing. God’s hand is over the entire The Chosen endeavor. How pleased Jesus must be with Dallas and all the wonderful actors; each of you is listening to spirit. Blessings.♥️
THANK YOU DALLAS! Hurry back with more, feeding us more loaves and fish, and spreading the love. Wish I could say I have a favorite episode. Each one is so rich, and feeds me well to satisfaction. Your explanations and talking about what you and the writers hope to convey are wonderfully awesome. May you continue to walk in the Blessings of our Lord! Such a miracle, this phenomenon that is The Chosen.
THE CHOSEN is the only current tv show that I get excited for on a daily basis. It has served to inspire my wife and I to draw even closer to God. You guys are doing incredible miraculous work that clearly has the stamp of the Holy Spirit all over it. God bless you all and please never stop. The Body of Christ is behind you!
This is heavy for me, my son passed 10 years ago, after I heard from the church we both went to that we didn't have enough faith or there was sin and there was, this lady at church told my son DO U WANT TO BE HEALED my son said yes she made him walk around the room saying im healed 🤔 but I soon discovered exactly what Dallas says, not everyone gets healed. I asked God why why my son God? I heard because I gave you mine😶
So sorry for your loss. It is sad how cruel people claiming to be believers can be. I spent many years hearing how it was my fault that I wasn’t healed. I had to isolate and allow the Father to heal my heart from all the accusations. At one point after a pastor told me that God couldn’t use me unless I’m healed, it was as if the Spirit spoke in my heart that this pastor and others that make these accusations are in greater need of healing than I was. It’s been my prayer to respond to others in love as our Father does.

Episode 4 of season 1 still my favorite..just bcuz Peter's story leading up to it... but they all are very well written and directed, not to mention the actors are really top notch. I see God's anointing all over this show.

The best episode, including episode five, so far in the season! My grandmother loved it, and she felt like she watching a movie! Well done Dallas and the entire Chosen crew!
Dallas I just want to say that I really admire your faithfulness in doing this commentary of each episodes. I really think you are faithful to point out what is written in scripture and what are scenes you guys add for art purposes, things that are factual and plausible but most of all how you constantly encouraged everyone to refer to scripture or talk to theological scholars for questions. I like how you are clear that watching chosen can’t replace reading the Bible on your own. But watching the chosen makes me want to read my Bible even more. So thankful for This ministry! We are supporting you guys!
I love Season 2, Episode 1. So beautifully done! In Season 1, I love the episode with the children. Both of these touched my heart with deep love, honest humility, and tearful joy!
Just love the deep dives. The acting has been fabulous and I’m so excited to rewatch the episode after listening to your explanations. Thank you Dallas and the team for providing a new way to understand scripture. I lost my son almost seven years ago and the only thing keeping me together is my faith in Jesus. I will see my son again 💙
Nothing wrong with watching multiple times. I binged the entire series to date. I have since started it over and I am paying better attention the second time around. And it helps to watch all of the interviews and directors take on different scenes.
Dallas, keep up the good work. You are helping "fill" in some voids that make Jesus seem more human than the written word ever could. They may not be as it really happened, but your not changing the "theology" of the Word. These all are men and women just like us, all with sins, all with differing expectations of what the Messiah was to do and how and when, etc. I for one am so grateful to see the Scriptures come alive. God bless you and the team.
Father Yahweh I thank You for the Chosen series it has brought the Bible to life for me in so many ways and given a fresh hunger fir Your precious Word I can never thank you enough Father God for bringing the Word to life !I thank the director and actors , I thank everyone involved with this wonderful wonderful series praise God !! What a GIANT STEP for The Kingdom!!! this series brings so much glory to the Father thank you after all that you do and BLESS YOU ALL IN THE MOUNTAIN MOVING NAME OF OUR SAVIOR YESHUA Hamashiac! Amen
The montage was some powerful storytelling. The conversation at the pool was heartbreaking, ("Whatever it is, it's not worth it. And if they catch you, they will kill you") but when he saw his brother walking and let go of the dagger, that was beautiful!
This was my favorite episode so far. The montage was both moving and beautiful. The whole episode followed a rising arc of increasing tension and emotion. Brilliantly done! Praise God!
I love the way you have directed Jesus to be happy when he has healed someone. I just love it. You can feel how joyful he was when the Father directed Him to heal. Thanks Dallas!
Can't count how many times I've watched this episode! Loved: the first 10 minutes (it didn't need words), the music, Jesse's and Simon's interactions, Jesus' and Jesse's interactions; just another Magnificent episode!!! ❤️❤️❤️
@@Mike-1127 The clothing question is for Dallas. Yes, I've read Rev. 22:18 numerous times: King James Version 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
@@Mike-1127 I don't know people's intentions in watching The Chosen. My prayer is that those who don't know Jesus as LORD and Savior will use the show as a stepping stone to read the Bible themselves to learn more about our Heavenly Father, our Savior Jesus, the works of the Holy Spirit (Comforter, Teacher, etc) and who they are in GOD. For Christians, this is not our source for a closer walk with GOD. That occurs through our relationship with our Heavenly Father: prayer, reading His Word, spending time in His Presence, fasting, and all that He requires of us. This show will never replace our personal time with Almighty GOD. Coming to faith in the book of Romans: 3:10, 3:23, 5:1, 5:12, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10, 10:13, 10:17. Not sure what you're expecting in response to the other topics. Yes, the Bible warns us about false teachers, false prophets and the antichrist. Pray you have a blessed evening. I'm going now to read/study Romans 6.
@@Mike-1127 This is a show about Jesus that was built around GOD's Word. The source is Scripture with "plausible" events relating to the lives of many of the actual people detailed in the Bible.(Did you hear that explained in this video, or in any of Dallas' other videos?) I specifically love the healing scenes because they show Jesus' love and compassion for the person being healed. GOD is love and He commended His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). No one (that I have ever heard) has ever claimed this show is 100% verbatim from the Bible. If someone did, that would be a lie. With the wickedness on network television & streaming services, I'm happy to have had someone introduce this show to me. (There is actually a show called "Evil" that's coming out.) My former co-worker talked about the tv show about satan "helping" solve crime cases. I told her the only thing satan will help you do is go to hell. With your concern, continue to pray that all who watch The Chosen do we closer to GOD through His Word and a close relationship with Him. Have a blessed day.
I can’t get enough of this ! Both seasons are phenomenal. I believe God had this planned out for you. We need to get more of him during these crazy times. Thank you
I really do appreciate the thought and detail that goes into world building concerning The Chosen and its characters. Because it gives us a way to settle in the world of that day. With the people of that time. By relating to ours while educating us on the culture. Plus this was a fabulous episode. Love how everything wove together and affected circumstances.
This is my favorite episode I keep watching it over and over. I don't know why but the way Jesse says, "shalom" to Jesus at the pool gets me EVERY time.
I had watched that particular day of for filming and how cold it was. When the scene became an episode and it came to a story with a brother of the healing, very touching what got me was the reaction of the disciples. I loved Them taking note so we know. Even Leonardo Torres who introduced THE CHOSEN to La Familia on U-tube has had his own awakening. Hallelujah 🙌🏼🙏🏼he is on🔥
I love this episode but there has been so many things to love in each episode so far. Eagerly awaiting episode 6 from season 2. Just so you know however, I watch them both on the app and TH-cam and all the episodes are still on TH-cam. Every time I watch it again, something new is revealed that I missed the first time.
Your art is beautiful. The added bonus? It is also touched by God. I know because of the emotional and spirit-deep reaction to these stories. I love you fill in biblical texts with back stories that are "plausible". This is not a bible study, but it does lead folks to WANT to read the bible and dig into the stories. What a blessing! I will continue to pay it forward throughout the seasons!

This was great video. Especially the psychological component about perspective. Beautiful. I have MS and it can be a struggle at times. But the focus of the gaze is essential and so sweet if we try. Thanks for this profound production. I was in a a darker place but this show is very spiritual and emotional and very helpful. Dallas I am really praying for each of you and each circumstance.
Hi Sue, I just saw your comment and felt like I needed to say thank you for opening up about your situation! I also live with MS, and it can definitely be a struggle, but as you put it, "the focus of the gaze is essential." If we keep our eyes on Jesus, if we seek His face, He will do what we need most. And no matter what is manifested in our bodies on this side of Heaven, we know that healing is already part of the inheritance we have been given in Christ Jesus, for by His stripes, by His blood shed on that cross He hung on, He has paid the price for our redemption and our total healing. I wish you peace, strength and joy in HIM, always!

Have you read the complete Psalm 139 that Matthew and Mary Magdalene are trying to memorize? It is so beautiful. I didn't know it until I watched The Chosen
@@jayschwartz6131 i just looked it up and started crying! What a great passage to return to over and over!
Thank you Holyspirit 🔥 For this Wonderful Chosen Show❤️
This episode was a masterpiece.
Me too!!
Yeah, I noticed that. I agree with you. The acting is so good. Special people cast for this project.
@@hotartesian4163 chuckling...very reassuring to know I'm not rewriting the script😉👍Have a great day!
Amen. 🙏✝️JESUS IS THE ANSWER♥️🙏
Not a Christian but I love your show and your passion. I will admit even as a non-religious person some of the scenes in particular do make me feel something
There is just something about Jesus's story that is so inspirational and makes you feel sad but also good at the same time
First off I like to say that opening was the most to well written, well-put-together sequence of scenes that I've seen in any show or movie in my entire life not bluffing second off I never would have seen the comparison to the movie up until you pointed it out :-)
thank you so much for consistently wowing us I can't wait to see what's next God bless you all💞🕊️✝️💖
This episode is my favorite out of the entire show. The cinematography ,music and acting was incredible and had the most powerful impact. I bawled my eyes out too 😂🤧
I would love to see Gaius, the Roman who guarded Mathew the tax collector, get saved
Same I'm dying for that. 🙏 So unlikely but I have faith
Maybe he'll be the Centurion who's servant is healed or the Centurion at the cross who says "Truly this man was the son of God."
What if he is gonna be the one who said at the crucifiction of Christ, "truly this man was the Son of God".
@@Baker7of10 ohh, you already mentioned what I was thinking 😅😊
@@christinapsalmist4267 you are dying for that? Please choose wisely what you say 🥺
Indeed.. praise the Lord!! His timing is perfect! 🌻🙏🏻
Very interesting interchange between Yani and Shmuel. Amazed at the creative genius in the writing of this series. You all constantly wow us.
Fantastic breakdown, Dallas. You’re a very well spoken and studied man, sir! Episode 4 was great, and the opening 9min were lovely. I loved the montage to get us connected with Jesse & Simon without having to dedicate 30min of backstory to them!
I really thought the acting between Jesse and Jesus was PHENOMENAL. I have watched it over and over again. Thank you for your work.
CONGRATULATIONS winning the KLOVE AWARD!!!!!!
Shalom from Nepal!!! Thank you DJ for this amazing portrayal of characters in The Chosen .. it's like the Bible coming alive thru these characters!! God bless you and ur amazing team!!! :)
Loved this episode.. In fact loved them all!
Yeah this was a fun one. A very artistic episode.
I don't have an imagination that lets me think of the scenario in a realistic way. When I read the passage in the Bible, I tend to think of the actions and words as static.
Thank you for sharing this. I have always been the same way.
@@lrosario552 You're welcome! 😊
Amazing.
Keep in mind there is more than plenty to go around. Ask away, for everything!
Are you going to do the Deep Dive with the priest, the rabbi, and the evangelical professor? I found it most helpful. It gave me a deeper understanding of all perspectives.
This is what Jesus asked Jesse, "Do you want to be healed?"
We are all our own Jesse. We want to be healed, and we want to be healed by God for He alone can heal us. He is all we need. 🙌
Episode 4 is so great.
My favourite so far!! First 10 minutes was woooow!
I love the way you all choose to tell the stories that I grew up with and to give them new life. You guys are doing incredible miraculous work that clearly has the stamp of the Holy Spirit all over it. God bless you all and please never stop. The Body of Christ is behind you!
The opening was mind blowing. Loved the music too.

Took me 3 watches and reading some comments to gain a fully 'wow'ed opinion of the beginning of Ep 4. But thoroughly love it now.
Nothing wrong with watching multiple times. I binged the entire series to date. I have since started it over and I am paying better attention the second time around. And it helps to watch all of the interviews and directors take on different scenes.
Simon Z ... absolutely brilliant!!! How many amazing, talented actors can you have in one project???
Dallas, keep up the good work. You are helping "fill" in some voids that make Jesus seem more human than the written word ever could. They may not be as it really happened, but your not changing the "theology" of the Word. These all are men and women just like us, all with sins, all with differing expectations of what the Messiah was to do and how and when, etc. I for one am so grateful to see the Scriptures come alive. God bless you and the team.
Is that the sound of a Cello I hear 👂? The Sound of deliverance!! Awesome 👏

The montage was some powerful storytelling. The conversation at the pool was heartbreaking, ("Whatever it is, it's not worth it. And if they catch you, they will kill you") but when he saw his brother walking and let go of the dagger, that was beautiful!
This is by far THE BEST show made. You make God very proud Dallas. HE will say 'well done good and faithful servant' one day my friend.
The 1st 10 minutes without words was the utmost impact full way of reaching the human soul! Greatest artistic decision ever!!! 💗
@@Mike-1127 Thank you. Yes, I already knew & Dallas explained the details of this episode in this video. Have a blessed day.
@@Mike-1127 The clothing question is for Dallas. Yes, I've read Rev. 22:18 numerous times:
King James Version
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

It’s so cool to hear the background ideas behind each episode. Thanks for sharing this with us Dallas! 🙏
Wish that the Chosen will touch and drive many many souls towards God. Thanks Dallas for this beautiful project.
This is my favorite episode I keep watching it over and over. I don't know why but the way Jesse says, "shalom" to Jesus at the pool gets me EVERY time.
Just finished this episode and everyone did great. The two brothers broke my heart, especially Jesse made me cry.
Hallelujah 🙌🏼🙏🏼he is on🔥
Dallas, your work ethic is inspiring. I will continue to throw money at you. Lord keep you!
Episode 4 of Season 2 is brilliant! My favourite episode of the first 5 episodes of Season 2 so far. Just breathtaking!
