I typically just “get in the car” and experience “the ride” as though I was there. So I enjoy hearing you dissect the episode so I can think about things I missed? So good.
At the arrest-"Before" Gaius asked if Matthew was o.k.? Jesus told Gaius that Matthew was o.k.! "But He was aware all along of their thoughts..." Luke 6:8-AMPLIFIED - Right there is biblical content! Jesus knows all our thoughts! Maranatha!
I love this so much. Your explanations make it even better! I do love seeing the Pharisees and how each is a different person. Everyone is trying to find the truth, and everyone has different personalities, different backgrounds, different doctrines. You consider all this so well. This show continues to be such a blessing. I love it. God bless The Chosen crew.
Dallas, I love your insights and perception of human nature. The only thing that changes the natural man into the follower of Christ is the individual's personal testimony of Christ and an understanding of his gospel confirmed by the Holy Ghost. Thank you for your diligence and prayerful approach to life and The Chosen.
I have watched Dallas and his Directorial explanation of what is happening, & this happened to be one of his best explanations of scenes that Dallas has done. Well done Dallas. Thank you for your attention to the different biblical details and the in-between biblical verses about what could have happened. Even though I am one of those people who are deeply into the details of the Bible from the ancient languages and historical background, I do understand that some artistic liberty is needed because of the time restrictions. Love the show. And thank you to all of the people who donated so that those of us who have limited funds because of having a tight budget.
Dallas, I am so thankful that God has raised you up. You bring amazing talent to the screen for us at a time that is perfect! There are no coincidences. Thank you!😇🙏❤️🙌
I felt like Mary! Being a mother of three , a Latin American mother , I don't know how I would get through the most difficult stuff!! So long as I develop the willingness to offer more of myself to the Lord, it's will be worth it
My dad has his Master of Divinity and he didn’t mind the episode at all. He agrees that if it is is ‘plausible’ it is not necessarily unbiblical. He loved the Roman response / interaction with Jesus and he liked the approach you took
The whole episode was a blessing and I so appreciate the director reaction videos. My favorite scene was Jesus caring for Gaius. The tenderness on his face. Okay and Matthew’s I’m so happy, Jesus comforting his Eema, John asking to be taught to pray, the rock throwing, Quintus and Jesus……everything!
I so much appreciate you having done the up dating, and discounts on Friday! That way we have news two days instead of one. I really appreciate the insight into the writers and director's minds. I really appreciate all the nuance put into the characters.
I think Gaius is been play like a soldier that miss his son ..and he see something in Matthew that remind him of his son..but he keeps it for him self...what everyone else think?
These videos are so interesting for me. We have been studying 1Peter at church, and I kept picturing Shahar. I believe it helped me to have a "real" person in mind, not some stained glass image of a bearded old man. Thank you for sharing with us. To God be the glory!!!
I loved when Mary said something like "Jesus said he will return and we have to just wait"..JESUS IS GOING TO COME AGAIN ONE DAY AND WE HAVE TO JUST WAIT AND BELIEVE HIM.....what a glorious day it will be.....Can't wait!
Imagine being able to walk with Jesus in the flesh and enter into a relationship with him - then see him arrested. If I think about that, I am filled with anxiety too - big time. As much as it hurts my heart to see Andrew "loose it" - it's realistic. Humans are not robots or one dimensional which makes every moment and every line of dialogue so important and you all nailed it - thank you for this video, they are like bread crumbs that I can chew on while waiting for the Christmas special. :) Peace of Christ to everyone on this wonderful Sunday! PS - The new mic is great- sometimes I have trouble hearing you and you were crystal clear today!!!
It occurred to me as I watched this very interesting and revealing Director's Reaction video that as time goes on I am learning how to be a more effective viewer of The Chosen. In season two (more so than in season one), I found myself sensing "depth" and what I will call "loaded moments" (meaning, points in scenes where I just know that more is going on than what I see and hear), and these director reaction videos help me understand what I was responding to in my reactions. Thank you for these videos and for the revelation of that dynamic. As I am typing this, I find myself believing that a similar phenomenon will very likely occur as I read my Bible, and that I would do well to heed these moments by exploring a verse or passage that "feels" more potent in greater depth.
@@TheChosenSeries The additional content is invaluable to me and I am forever grateful that the Lord has moved you all to place it before us. Thank you.
@@56pjr loving ALL of God’s children does not require repentance. It’s those who don’t, that need to take another look at God’s commandments. Especially the two greatest!
I love that Andrew still listens to his big brother on the scene under the tent. He told him to stop this right now and he stopped even at the height of his anger.
As always I love how these Director reviews help demystify the process and draw us into the artistic choices that are made in the process of producing the show.
I love these commentaries. I have to listen really closely because you talk so fast, but that is a good thing because I hear differently each time. Then I go back & rewatch the episodes & am blessed with seeing the scenes with more understanding.
I love every behind the scenes glimpse you give us, Dallas! I always learn something new that enriches my experience of The Chosen even more. Count me as a Raving Fan!
Even though some episodes like 7 has very little biblical content, it’s still a great episode. The Bible doesn’t give us every little detail of what happened every day, every moment or even in every conversation in any Biblical event. God gave us exactly what He wanted us to know to grow our faith and lead us to His Son Jesus. I love the episodes that have real biblical content, but I also enjoy the episodes that only have the plausible content because it makes it a good show. As long as the show reflex as much as it can biblically, leads people to explore the Holy Bible and learn more about Jesus, then I’m all for it. Besides, it’s really the only family friendly, no vulgar language, no hard core visible violence, or sex driven show anywhere to be found, now days. Thank you, Dallas and all the entire crew of The Chosen. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Dallas...The Lord's Prayer saved my life. Not only did I go to it in my head, I shouted it out loud and began singing it. The demonic person I was dealing with that had my life in their hands, suddenly freaked out and left...running faster and faster, while looking back at me as I got louder and louder and louder. It literally saved my life. Now I also say The Aaronic Blessing in Hebrew whenever I need Hashem quickly...for others, for myself or when the spirit overwhelms my soul.
I also pray for Dallas and his entire team and cast...everyday...this show is epic...and brings people to Christ...exactly what is needed in this world today...❤️🙏❤️...
God Bless you Dallas and the Chosen!! I believe it is anointed and has given us an insight into the human side of our Lord! I love all the behind the scenes information you share and… it is for a time such as this🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Me too. I don’t dislike Philip, but he doesn’t grab me as much as he does many other viewers. He just seems too perfect. I want to know a little bit about where he came from. What his “was” was before he got to “am”
I was expecting Dallas to mention the final scene where it seems like Matthew made a significant step in his faith. He was the first disciple to tell Jesus that he loved Him. Perhaps the first character in the entire season to tell another that they loved them. It just seemed right for Matthew to be first- and it was very powerful.
Thanks for these insights, Dallas. I appreciate that you addressed the issue of the misspelling of the Name of Yeshua in Hebrew. It is important as the issue is not that this is "insulting" to those people who know Hebrew, but that the wrong version has meaning and is a curse on Yeshua, Jesus. Please correct it also in episode 8 of Series 2, which I saw again just now and is still not corrected. It would be a pity if what some might seem as a trifling issue mar the good work you are doing.
Just to set things straight, I have forgiven the scenes that I have imagined differently because you guys GOT JESUS RIGHT! And I went through two seasons and loving the show up until I watched Jesus being hauled off by the Romans, which had me highly critical. After thinking about it, though, it occurred to me that, since this is being watched all over the world, those who themselves are being hauled off by their versions of the first-century Romans, and knowing that in acknowledging Jesus as Lord that they are in danger of being killed or imprisoned. If they can be comforted and encouraged by watching Jesus marched off in irons, then thank God for this scene. So now I am really happy that you have written this into the story. And still really happy as I see Jesus respond to his followers, and teach, and get frustrated and angry....Thank you.
Really great review. I love hearing Dallas share the backstory and thought process. And I totally love the conversation between Jesus and Quintus with Atticus. The subtlety between Atticus and Jesus fascinates me. Wonderful episode all the way around! ❤️
One of the most important aspects of the success of The Chosen is exactly what you are presenting here: the normalcy of all these characters, no matter what the relationships or stations. Humans are complex...not always good; not always bad. This humanness is also the essence of why JESUS the character is played to such success. Nothing.. NOTHING prior to this presentation could even be close to what the actual unfolding of His ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection must have been like.
Dallas Good morning, I thank God for the way He lead you to develop and direct this project. A "bill board" showing just some of the marvels and Grace Jesus Christ came to show all sinners. Just as bill boards don't show the entire menu of a restaurant but bring you in with one of their items(Egg Mc Muffin) and then once there you'll choose more items to add to your order. To me that is "The Chosen" showing people what He offers them in their new relationship in Christ Jesus. Onwards and forward, complete your calling as we are living in very evil times. God bless you and prosper you in all your ways as you continue seeking God's best for you and yours in Jesus mighty name. Amen!!
Dallas, I really enjoy hearing your breakdown of the episodes. Thanks for taking the time and mental effort to enlighten and discuss. Also want to shout out to whomever edits the video to enhance the impact. Appreciate all the hard work!
Thank you so much for the additional content, especially now when we are waiting for season three to start. We love to hear the backstories and insider details about this amazing show! God Bless and many prayers for the protection of the writers, the cast, and the crew!
Hey Dallas, I don't know if you'll ever see this but if you do I'd really love to know, but I'm writing to tell you that The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is one of my favorite movies. It wasn't a fail to me. Also I would love to see you do the Book of Acts with the current actors who are the disciples now. Love all you do. Bless all of you my friend for giving the world this masterpiece.
@@TheChosenSeries Wow, that's a surprise. Since the show is called "The Chosen" and focused in large part on the apostles, I had assumed that everything now was a set up for the events of Acts.
@@TheChosenSeries I've been studying the book of Acts a lot lately for classes, and considering how it could be joined to The Chosen. There's too much controversy about the timeline of Paul, but I think it would be great if y'all could go through Acts up through the martyrdom of Stephen. That event led to a wider dispersion of Christians and introduces Saul, and it would be a perfect conclusion to the story: and then the gospel spread to every corner of the earth.
I loved loved loved this episode….especially when Jesus met Quintus❤️❤️❤️❤️I love to hate him❤️❤️❤️❤️this is such an amazing show!!!! I love everyone of these actors they all fit perfectly in the people they portray ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Dallas - I respectfully highlight that Jesus can not ‘forget’ forgetting is a human frailty. Jesus‘remembers no more’ not semantics- hugely important difference in meaning. Love The Chosen, so far… 🙏🏻💞
I rewatched that episode and I never heard Jesus say that? It surprised me the first time she said that cuz I thought it missed it and so I went back again and still confused because I paid such special attention and I never heard Jesus say that at all...?
Modern Hebrew is hard and the old is hard.. Just one little minute flip or cycle and that can happen, don't be to hard on Yourself.. Dallas and the whole cast, I pray that your settling in well..I love the twist of Andrew and Peter switching places, Poor, Andrew..And of Youshie,(Philip) how he jumps in to help Andrew.. I think he was still very upset over John.
I'm the odd man out, so to speak. I was not bothered by Andrew's difficulty coping. So not bothered that I was surprised others were mad at him. Maybe I've has enough Andrew moments in my life that it seemed part of the process?🤔👍
I think that's the biggest thing here. We (Christians) always see the Gospels in retrospect - we've read it a lot, and know what these men ended up becoming - writing parts of the New Testament, dying as martyrs, and so much more. But before all that - they were deeply flawed people with struggles just like us. And seeing Andrews anger - half of me was upset because I knew he needed to trust Jesus, but then the other half realized we're only at the near-start of Jesus' ministry. They have a long way to go, and so do I at many times.
It's so nice to know so many of us are watching together right now..."In Spirit and in Truth". This show has blessed my heart and I am loving every bit of it, truly my favourite episode so far. Love your excitement about it. Jesus is the ONLY way
Love your explanations! The ad I get that comes in is amazing! Can it be used as a trailer? I couldn’t forward it snd wanted to! This would get this in front of people that do not check it out! This is powerful and will hook people!
Think of yourself as the apostles , they spend their time with the Lord and never wanted to upset him, never wanted to burden him. Now, we live in a time where, for a lot of us, we place all the burdens of our life into the lords hands. Whilst the apostles where blessed to be with the Lord, sadly for them they never knew his real.mission. we are blessed.
Love the mic looks good and sounds good... :) love the writing for the show, so well done. Looking forward to Season 3 i know it will continue to be so well done. People are (i feel) going back to the Bible and the words are more alive than ever before. So thank you and Bless you
What I enjoy the most is how I am starting to feel closer to the Apostles. I know its not strictly biblical but... BUT... I get them now... as a catholic it also makes sense for me of how protective they will become of Christianity.
Thank you, Dallas, for your thoughts that you share. They just "delivered" an important hint that I needed to hear: Not taking too much responsibility for the task and calling God had given us! How true! Thanks for that pastoral care.
I am so grateful to you for work on the Chosen. You are successfully putting the humanity into the Gospels that adds an element that is difficult, at least for me, to grasp when I read scripture. Bless you and your entire crew for making this happen!!
I'm going through a terrible phase right now but these words that Jesus would want us to navigate through our troubles when he's not physically present with us though he is always with us really made me cry ...... The Chosen has really changed my life and brought me closer to Jesus
As a writer, little story lines impress me as much as each episode of The Chosen. The details in every story element brings a piece of understanding I think make your audience feel the presence of Jesus. Thank You
No kidding - my imagination was going this morning wondering if Heaven has movie night. I can see the disciples talking about this show and getting ready to go watch it together. ‘Good grief, look at the spelling!!!’ ‘’Hey, I like my character !!!’
Huge applause on the show. The best part for me in this episode was the reminder that we need not fear/stress whether Christ is in front of us physically or not. He's intensely mindful of us all 👊
Walking with Jesus alive would have been an amazing experience. But at the same time, I would have questions about His teaching, and His say is that He is the Messiah would have made me doubt Jesus. That's the real human nature. Amazing to watch how the disciples would have interacted within each other. Grateful that there is something very unique to watch Jesus's life.
The reaction of Andrew in the boat, when Peter tried to prepare him. Noah’s portrayal is great, moving. Scene between Jesus and Quintus - brilliantly written and acted.
The Chosen has 100% changed the way I read and study the Bible! The example you gave with Jesus teaching the disciples the Lord’s Prayer is perfect! We absolutely need this backstory to bring Jesus and all his followers to life in our souls 🙏🏼 God bless you all. I will continue to pray for you all and ask St. Michael the Archangel to protect everyone involved with this God breathed project!
I so love The Chosen. It is not to replace the Bible but to seek it MORE 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 . If everyone read the Bible AND follow what Jesus wants for us, this would be a beautiful world as the Father created for us.
Truly a blessing to me continue to pray for the world to see the love of god in this, thank you for your faithfulness all of you be blessed today 👍🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭

GOD'S love for his children, is evident in every season. GOD bless you all, for bringing God's love for his children, into a fresh new light. AMEN
I’m so glad you show behind the scenes. You do not realize how much work goes into shooting the scene. The excellence is shown in your work. Thank you. God Bless 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wow! Thank you, Dallas! I really appreciate your "director's commentary" and bringing us all into the process. This show is SUCH a blessing!
I love that Atticus is even talking about the miracles to others. He's one of my favorite characters. Hope to see more of him.
Which Roman soldier of the two will be the one at the cross who gives the pronouncement "Truly this was the Son of God"?
@@danielbrown7115 what makes you think it would be one these two?
Remember, this IS The Chosen we are talking about. 😉
@@danielbrown7115 unlikely that Quintus would be 'that' soldier because of his high rank he probably wouldn't actually be physically carrying out a crucifixion... but it would make for good example of how God can change the heart of anyone with a heart like Quintus.
@@donkeyredeemed4175 Not Quintus. Atticus
@@donkeyredeemed4175 I don't know. I'm just thinking that with the way they are setting up this character that it may be Atticus.
This is one of my favorite episodes! Because I love Jesus and Quintus' conversation, the highlight of this ep😊
The build-up of the Sermon on the Mount was absolutely awesome. When he finally put it together my heart was just pounding. It was genius.👍🙏❤️
Love love love The Chosen!! Praying for everyone involved in anticipation of Season 3!
Thank you!😇🙏❤️🙌
The scene where Jesus was arrested, had me in tears, angry, fearful. It was one of the strongest scenes in the series. Amazing, thank you Dallas.
I agree with you Lisa
I felt like Mary! Being a mother of three , a Latin American mother , I don't know how I would get through the most difficult stuff!! So long as I develop the willingness to offer more of myself to the Lord, it's will be worth it
Me and my dad laughed
Wait til the actual scriptural arrest takes place in Gethsemane. It will be much worse as we know.
My dad has his Master of Divinity and he didn’t mind the episode at all. He agrees that if it is is ‘plausible’ it is not necessarily unbiblical. He loved the Roman response / interaction with Jesus and he liked the approach you took
I love how you show the complexity of the character's personalities and how the drama can lead to consequences. That is life.
Actually, Dallas, I loved Jesus banter with Quintus. One of my favorite scenes. . I have also been touched with the heart Gaius has for Matthew.
Yes!! No wonder it was so clear today!!!!
Awesome to hear! It’s why we have all this extra free content.
@@TheChosenSeries The additional content is invaluable to me and I am forever grateful that the Lord has moved you all to place it before us. Thank you.
This guy is a Catholic and Mormon lover. He needs to repent.
@@56pjr loving ALL of God’s children does not require repentance. It’s those who don’t, that need to take another look at God’s commandments. Especially the two greatest!
Jesus preached repentance, as did John the baptizer, Peter, Paul, and all the apostles. You need to repent to be saved
The Lord continue to bless you and your Team abundantly in all ways as you bring the message of Jesus to the world in suuuuuuch a refreshing way !👍👍👍
Character development including that of Shmuel is fantastic!
I love that Andrew still listens to his big brother on the scene under the tent. He told him to stop this right now and he stopped even at the height of his anger.
Andrew snapping from everything happening always felt so human like man I can feel his anger and worry myself 😥
You can go to the Settings on the video and slow it down, if you'd like.
Very well said.
These reaction videos are my second most favorite thing about The Chosen.
Yes! And I so appreciate you kept these director's reaction just for that purpose!!
I do pray for your team everyday. Its really leading many to know Jesus. God bless you Dallas and his team.
How I didn’t think to do this too : yes praying for the team, of course !!!!! Thank you 🙏🏾
I also pray for Dallas and his entire team and cast...everyday...this show is epic...and brings people to Christ...exactly what is needed in this world today...❤️🙏❤️...
Actually noticed the improper spelling of Yeshua in Hebrew and didn’t think it would be addressed. Glad to see y’all corrected it! Love this show!
God Bless you Dallas and the Chosen!! I believe it is anointed and has given us an insight into the human side of our Lord!
I love all the behind the scenes information you share and… it is for a time such as this🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Dallas, it is so fabulous you do these episodes, thank you! They add so much to the show.
I love that the actors are not one dimensional. Hoping to see Yoshi as Philip more than a chill peacemaker.
I was so intrigued with the visual exchange between Atticus and Jesus. You cut the tension with a welding torch.
Dallas Good morning, I thank God for the way He lead you to develop and direct this project. A "bill board" showing
just some of the marvels and Grace Jesus Christ came to show all sinners.
Amen!!
This was cool! Thanks for keeping connected with us and bringing us in to the episodes.

Hello Dallas! My prayers continue go up for you, the crew, and the actors!
Dallas, I really enjoy hearing your breakdown of the episodes. Thanks for taking the time and mental effort to enlighten and discuss. Also want to shout out to whomever edits the video to enhance the impact. Appreciate all the hard work!
Thank you so much for these informative and entertaining insights, as always excellent work! Bless you and The Chosen! 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻
I don't know why but this whole video had me in tears just beautiful but the scene between Jesus and Quintus was so fun amid the serious scenario.
Thank you so much for the additional content, especially now when we are waiting for season three to start. We love to hear the backstories and insider details about this amazing show! God Bless and many prayers for the protection of the writers, the cast, and the crew!
24:30 Great lesson from Dallas: "There will be times when I'm not around...you will have to face fear...
The scene w/ Quintus questioning Jesus reminds me of a talk show host interviewing someone who is very popular and also intriguing.
Considering that the idea is to go to, I think, 8 seasons, I'd have to think that Acts is in the plans.
Thanks so much, we’ll pass that on! :)
@@sorenpx 7 seasons. No plans to include Acts at the moment.
LOVED the episode! Love them all! _ALL GLORY_ goes to The KING of kings, and LORD of lords! :D
Love episode7, lots of hidden treasures
I will be watching it again to see some of these moments i might have missed 🙂❤
I love listening to your perspective on the Episodes Dallas! Thanks for making these Episode Reactions!
Hi Dallas - I respectfully highlight that Jesus can not ‘forget’ forgetting is a human frailty. Jesus‘remembers no more’ not semantics- hugely important difference in meaning. Love The Chosen, so far… 🙏🏻💞
Love this explanation. This is my favorite of season 2 for all of these reasons. Thanks Dallas.
Mary says"Jesus said he will be back!" Unprecedented foreshadowing...
Well said! @~The Hearth~
I rewatched that episode and I never heard Jesus say that? It surprised me the first time she said that cuz I thought it missed it and so I went back again and still confused because I paid such special attention and I never heard Jesus say that at all...?

Awesome job and the best. Thank you so very much. GOD BLESS you and all the people that work with you. 🙏❤🙏
@@bensappliancesandjunk Oh well said, friend. I my have to memorize your response👏😉
I really liked that the paralytic was named Ethan, fun fact it actually means strength in Hebrew.
So thank you and Bless you
So much to love in this episode....Andrew's frustration, Jesus, Quintus and Atticus and The Lord's prayers scene. Love these reaction videos!
What I enjoy the most is how I am starting to feel closer to the Apostles. I know its not strictly biblical but... BUT... I get them now... as a catholic it also makes sense for me of how protective they will become of Christianity.
Interesting video thank you. I hadn’t noticed the upgrades in Quintus’ office but I had noticed that the scene looked great 👍🏻
Thank you, Dallas, for your thoughts that you share.
HAHA! And possibly, “Ha! Look who they got to play you!”
Movie Night! Awesome!
"We disagreed more than this show portrays, us. God's grace kept us united in Jesus!"
Fun to think about!
