    Great flight AvAngle, Such awesome graphics here, even with the few not so amazing areas, but damn for the most part it’s gorgeous looking.

    Also downloaded the Kantisha scenery on your recommendation and initially it didn’t display correctly either. Had to download the extra objects library package as recommended by the publisher, and instead of just dropping that folder into the community folder- open it up and find another sub folder inside and drop that one into the community folder instead. Works a treat after that!

    You made a good point. If the terrain was a little more true, this flight sim could be an interesting geology teaching aid. Wow 11 the flare on the river. Sockeyes have made river sections look red, occasionally.

    A wonderful flight through gorgeous scenery, you reminded me of my former Head of Department and Professor of Geology, he famously hated what he termed "Unnecessary Jargon''' which he would always mutter from beneath his moustache whenever he had to teach us a new term which he did not approve of. He wrote a small mineralogy book and under Quartz the entry said "see Silica" and when you went to Silica it read "see Quartz" - such was his humour and hatred of more than one word for the same thing. But nice lateral and terminal moraines and roches moutonnees.

    AvAngel, I love your videos and commentary. However, the gushing over the Orbx mesh was a bit too much for me, considering there is almost no difference from default scenery. (as seen in other videos comparing the two)

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really think it looks very different, the mesh yes, not the 'texture' the actual 3d detial was far nicer imo, and all elevation weirdnesses with water are gone. Plus I've never flown this range before (the mountains themselves)

    Beautiful scenery, too my eyes, these higher res meshes make a big difference, not sure why some cant see the change... oh well its great we all have this huge amount of choice in packages. Ive never been much of a turbo prop guy, but Ive kind of fallen for the 208. Been flying alot around Papua New Guinea following videos posted by Missionary Bush Pilot. I will be sure to do this trip In Alaska. Incredible area to fly in. And who said MSFS2020 cant do atmospheric's...just look at that haze...:)

    • @LukiR33
      @LukiR33 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even the Orbx said there isn't much difference in mesh quality. The main benefit is reduced LOD morphing. I only tried with slow plane so far, but didn't notice any terrain pop-up. Also Orbx stated they will improve mesh resolution in future updates.

    • @AvAngel

      @@LukiR33 I guess it depends on the original source data. The USA probably already had good data. Down here in NZ the orbx mesh has made a noticeable difference. Even though its only a 10m mesh the default mesh was 30m of bigger.

    Glaciers forming, flowing, and doing their thing... I understand. I also understand that big chunks formed those lakes we see. However, what I do NOT understand is...
    How did the fish get in there? Did they sprout from the ground? Did eagles grab them from somewhere then blunder their grasp and a pregnant fish fell from the sky? Maybe a bear caught a pregnant fish and said to himself, nahhh. I didn't want to eat you anyway. Then toss it into a lake???
