I follow a horse rescue that rehabs horses and then adopts them out. Every horse gets freeze branded as an extra safety measure (They have a strict contract). But if their brand would show up at an auction barn they would be notified
If you had stayed w/ Twisted B, may have been easier, to come up w/ idea. Don't get me wrong, I'm good w/ new handle. Just going to take some serious thinking on a brand. Love all the vids, hopefully don't get 6" of snow, in the next 12- 36 hrs! 🥶
Marie, awesome video!!! I will never have to make the decision of branding any animals, but I found this very interesting!! It makes me feel better that there is a better way of branding animals and now I can look at a branding on an animal and see if the animal was branded the less painful way or not. If not, I will speak out!!! 🤣🤣 Believe me, I would have something to say about future branding at that farm!!! I hope your week is going nice and smoothly, for William also!!! Keep on videoing, you do an Excellent job!!! 🤗🤗♥️🙏🏼
That was very interesting to see first hand--well through a video! Fefe-Jack-jack is wonderful. He was leaning into you with such love. Once again a great vlog. GOD BLESS all of you and the critters.
Hello ladies, It's on the lines of people getting a skin tag freeze dried off their body. Plus, it seems like the more human way of branding an animal with freeze drying the animal than with a heated poker.
That was interesting. Also distracting the horse with a nose squeeze was fascinating. I think it is better than fire branding. The white donkey is a sweetheart. 💞
This is a great video. I have always wondered about the pain of it and they really feel no pain heck hardly any discomfort. What I still wonder though is when frostbite happens in some when cold weather or temp drastically changes quickly sometimes there is pain. So If you get the chance to ask his opinion on that please do so and let us know. Thanks for educating ppl on this. I feel it is the best way of branding so far.
Well I had heard about freeze branding, but I had never seen it done. It really does seem much less painful than fire branding. I was pretty surprised to see so little movement, especially with just a twitch. I appreciate all I learn just about every time I watch your videos. Thanks darlin.. see you on the next one.
Such a nice video! My husband grew up on a farm and is sorry to see that they are decreasing. I am a professional artist and I share my paintings and demos here. So much variety on TH-cam. Cheers on a Friday!
The freeze branding looks interesting. Will he design whatever you want in a brand, or do you have to pick one of the brands he already has? Once again, thank you for educating us.
@@RandomOkieFarms Thank you for answering. I just noticed that the brands he was doing was with the same shapes but in different orders. That's what prompted the question.
Unfortunately thieves are rampant. Much more so than 20 years ago. Need to have a way of identification. The fact that they are branded is a deterrent to the actual theft. Bad things can happen that have lasting consequences even if you get them back. Even if it just destroys trust. Trust is big.
I also go by the thickness of the horses skin to how long I leave the brand on. Thick skin little longer to a thin skin horse. There is a science to it.
Great question!! So for a white horse they can still be freeze branded but the hair follicle will have to be killed in order to see the brand so held on longer to the skin
I'm on the fence but" your kitchen your cooking" I'm sorry people have taken your babies that's beyond the pale and you do what you have to. Do you Chip them?🕯🧡💜🧡
I’ve never had to twitch a horse to freeze brand a horse ever. I’ve freeze branded more horses than I can remember. No ill effects No trying to take off. I use 99% alcohol. To each his own I guess.
Oh Jack Jack. Freeze branding would be the way I would go
Yes we love Jack Jack ❤️❤️❤️
Looks like an easier and better way to brand animals. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
So far it looks like our best option
May the Lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals
Thank you
Very informative an like seeing that they it is not as painful
Im glad you like it
I believe it's a good thing. Great job. Having them microchipped is ok but thieves can remove them. Branding is for life. God Bless 💕💕💕
Yes your right

Awesome
That was interesting.
I’m glad you thought so
Enjoyed video today as usual!
I’m so glad you did
Have considered what type of brand you'd get? Jack Jack, what a doll! 💝
I’m not sure what type we will get yet. William is better at design ideas. Do you have any ideas
@@RandomOkieFarms Man, what a dilemma! Between all the animals & flowers, not a clue!

Maybe Oklahoma outline with R F overlay? By the way, absolutely love the idea of freeze brands! Just an animal lover in Iowa! 🥰
@@tammyschnedler7545 Yes it is going to take some time to make a decision on a brand. It’s not an overnight decision for sure.
Great video. Jack is so special ❤
He really is

Wow that's great that the animals don't feel pain, but isn't expensive to do? Great video loved it💕
It’s an added expense for a little bit of safety.
@@RandomOkieFarms Hi marie do you have a email adres or facebook so i can ask some things in private 💕

Had no idea this was possible.

Very cool and informative 👍
Glad you liked it!

This seems so much more humane, the horses really didn't flinch.
I was surprised how little they flinched as well.
Hello ladies, It's on the lines of people getting a skin tag freeze dried off their body. Plus, it seems like the more human way of branding an animal with freeze drying the animal than with a heated poker.
Yes your right. I have had skin tags froze off and burnt off and getting them froze off hurts less.
That was interesting. Also distracting the horse with a nose squeeze was fascinating. I think it is better than fire branding. The white donkey is a sweetheart. 💞

We can order a brand through a company or we can use the brands he has. Thank you for taking the time to ask questions 🤗
