Thanks for showing another way to brand horses. It would be nice to see the "finished" brand later this year if that's possible. It's nice to see Audrey helping again. Hope the recovery from the fire has started and will move along well.
A beautiful thing to watch. A professional with expertise and experience, performing and explaining the procedure. Thanks for sharing this lesson. 👍👍👏👏🇺🇲
Nice smooth operation Jason! I sure hope no one sends you a square branding template for a square cut of hair! That could start a trend among the younger generation these days! Good to see normalcy returning to some of your operation! -Bob...
Well...that's one of the most interesting things I've ever seen! It seems far less a big deal (meaning a big production) than with fire branding and considerably less invasive. I'm betting the horses approve😆 Always learn something new at The Mendota! Thanks for sharing, Jason this was neat!
Thank you that was so interesting. The bay needs a trim but know how busy you all have been. That brand looks like the ones on our King Ranch Ford . Hope you have a nice Easter.
This is the life I wish I had but wasn't born into it. Had horses as a kid an now as an adult finally looking to by some again. Every thought of having people come to the ranch just so they could experience the ranch life.
Fascinating video to see how freeze branding works. Those were all beautiful horses, but that bay’s front hooves need a trim. Thank you for the in-depth instructions.
Hi Jason, My wife and I have enjoyed your Videos. We are suffering from "Mendota Ranch withdrawal" I realize that you have a lot of cleaning to do, but we would appreciate an update on the ranch, the cattle and Mendota Max.
We started watching your videos this week wanting to learn more about the science behind the AI process since we are breeding our mare this year. Just wanted to say we really appreciate all your informative videos and love the way you call it as you see it! Very impressed by your operation ! Side note do you ever have time to watch tv lol?
It's been a helluva summer out here in Southern Nevada, I hope the heat waves aren't hurting y'all too much out there in Texas! Haven't heard from the channel in awhile and just wanted to drop a line wishing you all the best season end, I hope you've had a great summer with the Fam and everyone is doing well! It's monsoon season here and though it's cooled a bit we've gotten no rain which is a REAL DRAG when I'm trying to build a Food Forest. It's fallen all around us but not ON us....the Universe has a wicked sense of humor sometimes. Take care and stay cool!
@@shotgunbettygaming we’re doing well and it’ has been a hot one here too. Haven’t really felt like doing a TH-cam after the fire. I would just sound like a cry baby but we are rebuilding and hope to have some cows this fall
@@themendotaranch Yeah I imagine the property is super busy with the rebuild, was hard to see y'all go through that. Here's hoping the range will be lush and welcoming to the new herd! Slow and quiet.....your crew knows how to handle the horses. Worked for a vet one summer and one of the vet techs made it a rodeo everywhere we went. Finally started telling him to stay at the clinic.

Ive got all my bear dogs freeze branded we use are initials though.
So it will just grow back completely white??? But like the hairs themselves are undamaged and unchanged apart from color right?
oh yeah I Did my share
Interesting video. Isn’t it late to brand them or there’s no timeline? Love the brand.🇨🇦❤️
No timeline
On a gray horse, what color does the freeze brand come in as? Thank you, Jason, for the informative content.
On a gray the hair want on back if you leave the brand on for 20 seconds

10 seconds
Hey, where did you go?

Hi Jason I have the same brand in Alberta but inverted a running M
What company makes those branding irons
These came from Felix Prieto Branding Irons
How long would u suggest for a thicker skinned 10yo buckskin.. and do adjust length of time for larger brands?
If he has any white go 10 seconds otherwise 11 seconds. Looks good on buckskins
