Hello, Thanks for the video. It`s very informative. I`ve got 2017 golf and it has exactly the same window, with frameless mirror set. I`ve had my windshield replaced in authorized service recently. The thing is, interior mirror placement seems 2-3 cm below than before. There`s also little gap between mirror’s upper cover and ceiling. My question is, is it possible to relocate interior mirror baseplate easily? or it comes directly attached to glass from factory? If i could relocate it 2-3 cm upper, it`ll be perfect as before. I tried to contact the service which installed but no luck so far. I`m considering to do it myself, if it`s something manageable.
Same here. Attached back the mirror and broke the windshield on wifes car. She is furious now . 😭😭😭😭 Force needed to put it back that way is just too big
Same here 😢 Just broke my windshield putting the mirror back on that ball. After that I took out that little ring on the mirror side. Then put the mirror back on and then slide that ring back. Or i could have taken out that whole piece with that ball out and of the windscreen. Then put the mirror back on the ball and then put that whole piece back.
This video shows the wrong method of removing and applicating the mirror. Don't be surprised when you fuck up your windshield by pressing the mirror into the knob!

I hope you realized that to take the mirror off the mount, you turn counterclockwise, clockwise to install.
Für was sind die drei Leitungen zum Spiegel, wenn es doch ein mechanischer Spiegel ist?
Evtl Regensensor?
Bei mir ist dort ein Feuchtigkeitssensor für die Klimaautomatik
