Here are some ideas for some cheap but good mods for the Ford Ranger: - LED Headlights (just the bulb - you dont need the whole thing to replace) - LED Foglights (Easy to insatll and also very cheap nice Upgrade) - Cover you exhause pipe at the motor with thermo isolating band to reduce heat under the hood and improove airflow - Use silicon hoses for youre hot and cold also for youre Airbox. A small upgrade but it helps with a more stable Airflow in the engine - This is a little more expensive or more work to do but replace youre breakhoses with metal ones. You gain a better breakpower and break reaction. - Use a Racing filter for the Standart Airbox Thx for youre Videos
Hey brother. Another awesome video. I’ve got all the same mods on my 3.2 xls 2015 for the last 6yrs or so and you’re right about all gains in power and handling. Good job mate and look forward to next video 🤟
Go the mighty Ranger! Solid utes. My 2017 Everest with 170k on the OD is solid. Everything is tight and still feels solid. Just waiting for the Everest Raptor :)
Cheers! I’ve done all these except the inter cooler (next on the list) on my 3.2 manual with great results… exhaust is 3” no cat but I have added an aftermarket hi flow hooka muffler and found it runs better with then without
these videos are super helpful! I have a 2012 hi-rider 4x2 ranger I use as my primary vehicle as well as a towing vehicle for the horses, looking into these videos for ways to improve performance as it is super important that it runs the best it can. i have had it for about a year and so far at 170k the car went into limp mode and the temperature skyrocketed and had to pull over immediately (luckily I wasn't towing). the mechanics ran the code through and they replaced my radiator and temperature gauge, it seems to be going okay now. i would say most if not all of the car is still using factory parts so from your videos I now know to look into replacing things like intercooler, injectors, erg cooler etc
For reliable towing , what should we do first? We ( we are in WA) are thinking of upgrading our bt50.. (We don't have the money for a Ram or 200 series) we want to do a big lap with our 110000km 2019 bt50 pulling an 3200kgATM caravan. This is what I have come up with (sourced fitted locally in Perth WA) Upgraded UDT high-flow turbo Upgraded intercooler Upgraded UDT turbo-back exhaust system On-car chemical soot clean Billet catch can Custom dyno tune (for towing a caravan) Transmission cooler Safari brand snorkel Transmission temp gauge Nomad valve body Torque converter lock-up kit Cast aluminium pan Upgraded radiator Your guides and videos are excellent and have been a great help.

Thank you for you videos! Talking about modification, have you ever heard about oil pump failure? Here it is not very rare that at about 180000km oil pump destructs, and some pieces can damage engine hardly. So the modification is Ford Euro4 oil pump 1c1q 6600 needs custom adapter for oil intake. Or change it every 160000km :) Maybe the reason why - our cold winters.
So I've done all these mods now, based on your videos. I also got a 4" snorkel. Happy with all the changes so far. My question now is, would it also be good to get a remap? Will all the improved airflow and changes to the exhaust, would a remap really help to optimize these changes?
From past experience with work shops i have come to have a healthy skepticism about their workmanship and results . So i am asking if there is any public domain tuning software that you guys can recommend so that i can see my fuel maps etc and the values my ranger has stored on the chip. I am keen to learn more and gain a deeper understanding. thanks in advance.
I have a ford ranger 2016 and my battery isn't charging, probably problem with the alternator.. is there a fuse for the alternator, do you know it's location
Hey mate, thanks for the tips. I’m about to rip out my air cleaner box and sort it out. I fully enjoy your stuff. You lay it out well and as it turns out you think as I do regarding the ranger. My rear exhaust was a joke and I had it off early. I’m going to replace with the 3 inch. I’m assuming you’ve done something on the thermal fan, I’ll have a look. Hey mate, a tonne of your videos have been so helpful. I’ve been troubleshooting my 2012 manual 4x2 with the p5at for 9 months with no resolution, and would be keen on your thoughts. I’ve got a detailed post with video on the ranger forum. Would you be ok if I shared via email? It’s basically a very inconsistent and intermittent idle stutter and stalling problem.

You're a Legend brother, Saving each Ranger owners $$$. Alot of the mods, improvements especially with the EGR blanking would work for the PX3 DCAD W A/S 2020?
I just spent 15k € on my 2.2 T7 for a brand new engine and turbo after the compressor side leaked liters of oil in the intake and cracked the 4th piston. I had tuned ECU, EGR disabled and DPF removed plus ceramic oil to lower the friction so beware.
can we use 0w-30 synthetic oil for Ford ranger XLT 2017(3.2l Diesel )? please let me know. i have already changed it and now havig the doubts about it.
I have a 2014 with 258K on the clock. Always run 5w-30 and doesn't burn oil. I trust what the oil manufactures say to use. I prefer Castrol but often use Penrite.

When you did your intercooler upgrade, did you manage to trim and keep the intercooler panels on either side? Is it worth the effort, or don’t bother?

not bad power and torque figures from the stock 2.2l. the 3.2 only makes like 145hp at the tyres stock so the 2.2 punches above its weight at 120hp.

Where do I find Bilstein coil overs for ford ranger?
do you know what cause the intercooler to fail?
poor quality, any intercooler with plastic end tanks will fail sooner or later
would you recommend ECU tuning/remapping the ranger?
Is it true that going with a larger aluminum intercooler without upgrading the turbo will cause more lag?
I can see that because you will have a pressure drop along with reduced velocity.
As far as the suspension, I was thinking of getting the Ironman pro cell foam kit? Do you have any preferences or cautions about certain kits?

With the ForeFront intercooler, did you have to buy their silicone hose kit? Or did you stick with the stock one?
Most are a drop in so you just need to get a hose kit to suit your engine (2.2 vs 3.2) as they sit diffrent

If it's the correct one for your model and engine the standard hoses should fit.
