out of sheer curiousity, what'd happen if the spark plugs became loose during operation? ofc restarting the car if stopped may be a problem but I also imagine some fuel leak and if left for long enough a low but plausible potential for a fireball
Good question. Yes of course running the car would result in a misfire. If there is no overhead pack the plug would blow out and you would hear a loud popping as the engine ran. I haven't seen a fireball occur though. The worst one I saw was on a Cadillac with a V8 NorthStar engine. Those engines use a coil pack module with 4 packs built into a single one. The module was bolted down and was large enough that the loose plug couldn't punch through. It just keep going up and down as the engine ran and destroyed the cylinder head threads and coil pack in the process. That was quite an expensive job.
