That is one beautifully crafted Bible. ❤️ Thank you for doing this comprehensive review of this Crossway ESV Bible. The quality of your video is great, too! 💯 God bless you, sir! 🙏🏼
As always, thank you for the awesome content! Ever since I stumbled over your channel, I think I've seen every single one of your videos haha! I'm a Pastor here in Toronto, Canada, and your videos have definitely helped me and my church a lot! I've also made sure to share your channel with the other Pastors in my Fellowship! May God continue to bless you, your channel and your overall ministry! Cheers!
That plain ESV logo on the spine, without the circle device around it, looks very sharp. Elegant simplicity. But Crossway DOES have to improve their ribbons in their premium Bibles. They need to be 10mm premium ribbons, and they need to give us more length.
The ESV Legacy Bible has the same single column 9 point lined print font and the difference besides the price, it has imitation Trufone leather and its going to be printed in China instead of in the Netherlands as with the goatskin ESV Heirloom Legacy Bible.
Awesome Bible and awesome knife! Ontario Rat 2 - hands down the best budget knife you can purchase. I find myself carrying it more than my high dollar knives.
Was that the deep brown color of the Heirloom Legacy Bible? I'm asking because it's hard to tell if it's black or the deep brown color in the video. Out of the three colors it comes in, it seems like the deep brown one is the only one that has four different colored ribbons, which I think would help with color coding organization when using them to mark different places in the Bible that will be used for a message to be given while preaching.
👍 Pastor, thank you for this thorough comprehensive review. This is very much appreciated. Could you please comment on the advantages vs. the disadvantages of standard single column text vs. verse-by-verse text formats? Do you favor one text format over the other? Thank you and may God richly bless you.
I know that some people who preach directly from an open Bible prefer the verse-by-verse format because it helps them keep track of their place. I prefer the standard text for reading though, and I typically have my Scripture printed in my notes. But it’s all a matter of preference for what you need the Bible for.
I’m curious. How does this handle notes? I use a micron pen to underline and write in the margins of my current Bible. It doesn’t bleed through. Will this?
What's your experience preaching from this Bible? Are the verse numbers easy to follow? I'm looking for a Bible and I can only afford one, and I'm looking at this or the ESV Large Print Thinline Reference Bible? I'm from Jamaica and these bibles don't sell here so I have to depend on videos like these to make an informed decision. The Trutone edition is the one I can get, and the price for them both is the same. So my choice depends on which is easier to preach from and read through. I would have gone for the Preaching Bible Trutone over Board, but it doesn't a concordance and I use the concordance in my Bible. We are not as fortunate to have the abundance of resources persons in the US have access to. The ESV translation is not even sold here. I actually much prefer a bigger Bible and taking a big bible around is no problem for me, I'm actually not the biggest fan of thinlines, but these two Bibles are the only two that have what I wanted in an ESV Bible: all black letter text, line matching, concordance and maps and very importantly, the full set of ESV translation notes.
I love the ESV value thin line, just gave one to my brother. Cant afford your ESVs. Sooo expensive. Paperback/cheap bibles are common here in the east. They suffer well. If Crossway will have an Asian office.
Yes. I have been looking into the CSB quite a bit lately. Overall, it appears to be a solid translation, kind of in between the ESV and NIV on the word-for-word vs thought-for-thought spectrum.

I just bought my own, can't wait to study it! Pricey but I wanted a high quality one. Hope it's worth it and is accurate.

Thank you, Isaac! I’m so happy to hear you are finding this helpful. This made my day! God bless.
I love ESV!!

Thanks. You know your knives! The Rat 2 has been solid for me. Definitely worth it for a budget option.

Is there a difference between this Bible that’s made in the Netherlands versus a China made one?
Price. The content is the same but if you can’t afford a premium quality Bible, the standard one will do fine for your needs.

Ever try the CSB?
