While the Heirloom may be better quality, etc., in different ways, I must say, the cowhide deep brown is absolutely beautiful. I LOVE the color and the feel. I wish the heirloom came in deep brown. But since it’s only available in black, I think I’ll stick to the deep brown.
Beau, how does this Heirloom compare tho with Crossway's more recent deep brown calfskin leather ESV SB (clarity of print, spine support primarily)? Or is that the one you're comparing here?
The reason that your cowhide ESV cover is not stitched is probably because it is the "made for CBD (Christian Books Distributor)" edition. The book block of the regular cowhide edition is more even (not perfect) and lies inside the fold over. The spine of the cover is also reinforced but not as strong as the heirloom edition.
Beau Tate or anyone of you guys could answer... What do you think the reinforcement material used on the “BLOCK” is it hard like cardboard or soft like some leather type? But we are sure that in the spine , a hard reinforcement like a cardboard hardcover material is used... i wonder what kind or hardness of material used as a reinforcement on the block. Im asking becus im trying to rebind my own hardcover ESVSB😂. Thanks for your time and thought!❤️

Can you please let me know what is the size of the text I often order large print or extra large print I have the ESV Study Bible and just a little true tone and I cannot read it at all thank you and the video was great
The font size is usually listed where the Bible is sold. I agree it’s very important. There are several light up magnifyers. Put it in search or google & lots show up. These are great for reading anything that has smaller print. The regular genuine leather ESV study bible is 11pt & 9pt for the study notes, which is a good font, especially when you start to age. I wish they would make the heirloom in this size. (It’s 9pt & 7pt for the study notes) To me it makes sense because usually if someone is able to spend that much on a bible, they tend to be a bit older. (except if as a gift, maybe for a seminary graduate).
I think I have a newer edition of the Deep Brown Cowhide because the formatting is similar to the Heirloom in terms of the fonts and the lack of lines between, for instance, the text and the cross-references. I also have perimeter stitching and the spine is reinforced better than the edition you have there. Hopefully a sign the quality of the Chinese editions is improving.
Wish I could buy the Heirloom somewhere, it's just not available in my country or anywhere on the internet shipping to Germany 😒 how's the Buffalo Leather? Like the Cowhide? 🤔
Steven Bloomer really? I’ve seen different companies binding ESV Bibles, but had not seen them do the Study Bible. I thought Crossway guarded those study material rights. I will have to take another look.

Clarification; the ESV study bible in genuine leather, large print has fonts of 11pt & 9 pt for the study notes.
The Deep Brown Cowhide reviewed by Bible Believing Christian had stitched leather edges. Maybe the one you have is an older edition.
