Yeah that was in the summer of 2014-2015! Boozer was actually amnestied. You would have had D. Rose, Jimmy Butler, Melo, Taj, and Noah. That team had the Cavs in the ropes and would have made the Finals with Melo vs a very young Warriors team. The Knicks were garbage and Amar'e Stoudemire was a cadaver at that point in his career and got released that season.

I honestly think the problem with melo is that he played in the wrong era. He grew up idolizing Kobe and Jordan, so he made his isolation game his priority. Then when he got into the NBA, the league started moving towards the three point shooting, 7 seconds or less offense and he just kind of got left behind. I think he would’ve been perfect in the ‘90s. I also think he gets waaaaaay too much hate. People overreact so much today that every player is either the best since Jordan or just straight trash. Like a bunch of 5 year olds.
Watching those Denver highlights still makes me cringe, the amount of skill and talent Melo had was incredible there was so much he could have accomplished yet he didn’t due to his own self.
