That inflation behind the closed lips while humming allows a singer to have more resonance to their sound because it creates a larger “chamber” for the sound. It’s definitely a purposeful technique.
Hey Butcher, you must be a Jim Croce fan. I LOVED this when it came out in '72. I was in 7th grade and damn we sang it constantly! The tragedy is Croce was killed in a plane crash in '73...he was only 30. He left us with some amazing music. Geoff MORE than does this justice, he manages to make it his own while honoring the original. And he does it with more COOL than any single man has a right to possess!
Hey butcher here 😁🤘🏼. Thanks for the love!! Actually I’m not a Jim croci fan and in fact I was not even alive until 76. But there’s a deep corner of my brain that remembers this song and as a result I’ve always had a love for it.
Jim Croce hit the radio in the late 60s and early 70s with hit after hit. Sadly, he was killed in a plane crash in 1973, leaving behind a wife and young son. He had several hits, such as Operator, Time in a Bottle, Photographs and Memories, and I Got a Name, which are my favorites. It was fun watching Geoff, while Butcher, and Jerzey were bopping to the song and AJ and Ogre listened for the first time, and all four of you gave me a grin with my morning coffee, great reactions. Have a good Monday, guys and fam!
Love Geoffs version and love you guys. Have a great week you lot. Also second in reminding you that VP did drop a new song over the weekend. You guys will love it.
Latin "Vir prudens non contra ventum mengit" - a wise man does not piss against the wind. Old proverb. You can add "sed errare humanum est" - but it is human to make mistakes.
The Geoffs and Daryl do it again. I was just out of High School when Jim Croce released this. You all did well on the reaction. If you want to dive into Jim's stuff: Time in a Bottle, I Have to say I love you, I got a Name, Operator and many more before his untimely death in a plane crash in 1973.
I always have the CC on because not only do they put the lyrics up, they sometimes slip in funny things. It’s kinda like you watch all the way to the end d because they’ll add things occasionally.
Croce's version is iconic, but higher, of course. The scat in the original follows every verse. Geoff's sound is much more menacing. Glad you reacted to it!!!
At the time this was written Clayton Moore the original Lone Ranger was still making appearances as the Lone Ranger. Well it was decided to make a new Lone Ranger movies and they served a cease and desist on Clayton Moore saying he could no longer were the mask as the Lone Ranger in public. Thus the line you can't take the mask off the old Lone Ranger. Sadly Clayton lost even with the public outcry
Guys I am hoping you react to the new VoicePlay video Classical Chaos...it is awesome but if you haven't reacted to In The Hall of the Mountain King watch that one first, Classical Chaos is the continuation of Mountain King

Good answer!
you don’t mess around with Geoff!

You've gotten a lot of the best listed here.
@@bjspeck4337 Well, I am a fan, lol!
Thank you Wendy Jo!
Very clean living guy, Geoff. :) No baccy chewing. Or smoking. A voice like that needs a lot of care. And water.
Yep
Love Geoffs version and love you guys. Have a great week you lot.

We're dropping our reaction tomorrow morning!
Yay I love you guys!!! 😍
Croce's original line was "you don't p*ss into the wind". Geoff cleaned it up by substituting "spit"
‘70’s radio also demanded the “clean” version…..

As a huge Jim Croce fan I love this cover .Great reaction.
''He's too pretty to chew'', my dog is looking at me like wtf, dropped laughing 😂😂😂😂😂 and yeah he is pretty
Jim Croce did some fabulous folk singing. His son goes on stage and sings his Dad's songs.

Another time when Geoff takes the original and makes the tone match the lyrics better than the original. Both are great.
I really liked his version of the song
You guys are adorable. 😂 Loved the reaction.
Thank you!! 😁

Bo just dropped CLASSICAL CAHOS sequel to HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING! Fantastic can’t wait to see your reaction 😊😊😊❤❤
Supposed to be VOICE PLAY AUTO CORRECT
@@marleiaisenhoward1891 How does Voiceplay turn into Bo? ^^
Probably tried typing Vp and accidentally hit Bo since they are right next to each other. @@glennjanot8128
@@KiyoshiKane That I believe. I was confused because he clearly wrote "auto correct"
