This comment is extremely annoying and shows how closed minded you are as a person. Other than being a man, I am a professional makeup artist with 13 years experience. I teach women AND MEN how to do makeup. I have worked with both male and females. My information isn’t directed at only women, it is directed at helping anyone, who is any gender. Makeup isn’t a female only product. I’m assuming you haven’t watched the video also because it’s advice on how to use products better.

Laurie honey...STFU. Why are YOU mad that a PERSON is doing makeup. Makeup is not exclusive to women...and it never has been. Egyptian woman AND MEN were the first to start wearing makeup and taking a greater interest in beauty. It’s literally cream and powders and anyone and everyone can wear it. It hurts nobody.

Hey everyone! Thank you for watching! So I’ve just realised, i kept looking at my monitor throughout this thinking.. something isn’t right, I haven’t turned on two of my lights in this video!! My camera kept loosing focus and the colour keeps changing in the video because it’s struggling to focus! Also a lot of people are mentioning how good my skin looks (thank you) but it’s because of the absence of the two lights. My skin doesn’t look like this, it is textured and I have pores and I prefer that to be shown!

Since I've started watching Robert's videos, it's like my third eye is opened or something. Now whenever I see beauty gurus/Instagram makeups all I can think is "what a waste of product, omg no that's wrong," while cringing, and Robert's giggles echoing in my mind lol. Thank you for being out here and actually teaching us something!!
same, now i just want to see beauty gurus be more mindful of how they do their makeup. there are so many things that don't look good in real life and when i would do my makeup using their techniques, it would come out awful and i thought i didn't have the skill or the right products to make it look pretty. i've learned so much from him and now i absolutely love how my makeup turns out 🥰

what skincare steps are you doing before your make up? for all skin types, but especially dry skin, your base is a reflection of the skin underneath! I worked at sephora for years and I can't tell you how many times clients came in saying "ALL foundations looks horrible on me! I can't find one I like!" then, as soon as I did a good skincare prep, the same foundation they hated suddenly looked much better. good exfoliation and hydration will completely transform your make up application. hope that helps :)
I have super dry skin too and I love doing a drop of oil mixed with my foundation. Feels really great and the skin looks plump!
I used to have very dry skin. I improved my skincare routine to take care of my skin and it transformed my face. I used to have breakouts all the time, now I only get one or two breakouts a month when my hormones are imbalanced. My favorite foundations have been stick foundations. It's easy to start in light layers and if you are dry, you might not have to set the foundation - unless you touch your face often. Skincare is the missing key to dry skin though. Invest in skincare products that work for your skin type. Robert's brother has a channel that's all about skincare.
I have very dry and sensitive skin myself.
I have spend so much time finding a skincare routine that actually works, and it really pays off. Less imperfections to cover and no dry bumbs or spots. I also completely stopped using powder for my base, i really don't need it. I use cream products for bronzer and blush and no setting spray.
I agree this would be great to see - I have patches of psoriasis on my face and no amount of skincare/prep can fix that, so would be good to know what I can do to cover up either the redness or the flakiness without looking like I'm painting onto textured wallpaper 🙃

@@raiba5492 me too! Like what's the deal with contour and Bronzer? It all sorta looks like it blends together. What's it for? When to do it? What colour should it be against the skin colour?
@@mrsp7481 the purpose of a contour is make like a shadow on your skin and a bronzer is give life back to the skin because with only foundation the skin is "flat."
@@mrsp7481 first thing you need to remember - contour and bronzer are not interchangeable. Contour is used to create a shadow and should cool-toned. That's why you see people using it in the hollows of their cheeks and under their jawline - it makes those areas recede visually and can make your face look slimmer. Bronzer should be a warm tone. It's used to create a sun-kissed look and add color back to your face after you've applied foundation, which makes your face all one color (usually). Bronzer should be applied on the areas where sun would naturally hit you, basically where you'd get a sunburn. That's the way I understand it all, anyway.

The advice on skin prep was the best part of this video. I’ve totally changed my skin care regiment and it’s changed my world! I now have 3 different routines, 1 for when I’m going to wear makeup, 1 for when I’m nourishing and hydrating my skin and 1 for when I’m doing chemical treatments. I came back 3 months later to rewatch this and let you know.... not that you will see my comment 😉

Are you kidding? 👍The British "language" is so much easier. Everything meshes so nicely. "Blusher" is so much easier to put in a sentence rather than the harsh end of "blush". I've occasionally slipped into saying "summat" instead of "something" (a la Ricky Gervais) because it's smoother. "Half ten" rolls off better than "Ten thirty". American English is like calisthenics for your teeth and tongue😂

I kinda always felt stressed out by beauty guru on yt cause I haven't had that many products and their routines felt so heavy on my face and made my acne flare up again. It was eye opening to see how close your contour is to your natural skintone. I have always seen people using something extremely dark to contour and the closeness to your skintone makes it look so natural and flawless. Also, you weren't drastically changing your face shape, it still looks like your face. Taking notes!!

I'm going to practice what you've said about blush, bronzer&++ So often I skip all of those products bc I'm freaked out by it looking like a mess on my cheeks..
So many of us are using brushes wrong haha :p you're right to tell us exactly how to use em. Your advices are excellent, and I know that from knowing many MUA's in France who will certainly agree with you !! I also wanted to say that I admire how you never over do the foundation (+baking and stuff). I think it's really good

That over-application of primer thing really hit home for me when I bought my first putty primer (namely, the Elf one). If you don't apply it in a thin layer and let it dry, it can make your makeup look awful! I thought it was just a crappy primer until I heard advice (maybe from you?) saying to apply it sparingly and take the time to let it dry. After I started doing that, it became one of my favorite primers!
