@jeffjacobson8061 you're in the beginning band? I am too and my band class does the 5 note scale. But I can do this and I can also do the F major scale. I can even the the 5 note scale a octave higher.

This scale is easy but this is literally the perfect way to do it
I advise you to always play low sustained notes first of all. Of course, always after having warmed up your lip with the mouthpiece only.
Also, slower speed. A slower pace allows you to feel the vibrations of each note in the cavities of the face before changing them.

Try doing lip slurs. Start on low c and go to g without using your tongue. Do that multiple times and with practice you’ll get better at high niges

I think it’s safe to say, anyone who knows much about trumpet, can tell the sound quality of this horn is horrendous, compared to a different student horn such as Bach Tr300 or Yamaha 2320. I played a jazz gig Wednesday night on one of these, and I highly regret it, most embarrassing thing ever

Trumpets are transposing instruments, so it’s written in C but it sounds like Bb.
