$10,000 wow!!! What do you considered a professional price range for trumpet?
$10,000 WOOOW Is it true!?😱
Dude my friend joined band this year and started with trumpet. His trumpet was so cheap, the mouthpiece didn't have branding, the trumpet didn't have branding, the trumpet didn't have a serial number, etc. I tried playing it because his F (in the staff) sounded bad. That was because his trumpet was flat on the F note and only the F note and his slides were stuck so I couldn't fix it. My personal trumpet is $2,000. He played it and it sounded like he knew something. Gee I wonder why... I definitely recommend an intermediate trumpet or maybe the $500 dollar for beginners. Not much else. Being first chair in 7th grade (year 8 for other countries) is hard man.
Bros gonna get a Monette trumpet and those go from $10,000 to $50,000
No es 100 veces mejor la de 10,000 que la de100
I'm a Trumpet player myself, and it's hard for me to believe that's he's actually playing. The Bugle just seems, too perfect.
You don't hear the audio from the video. He records the audio with a seperate setup.
yes i play trumpet too thats right
it sound too perfect for it to be real
hnggg, he is not playing i think
I’m with you. I don’t think he’s playing. And the sounds are not all that different.
A used $1000 trumpet that is in very good condition and which you can purchase for $500 is the best option.
That's correct.
Man for real i dont see the difference 😂😂😂😂 and I play trumpet too, maybe it’s because you are so good that even bad trumpets sounds good
Some of the difference is in the playability. Some is in the subtle overtones (hard to hear on a youtube video). 1000 to 5000 you are talking particular name brands and matetials and very specific build requirements that become very dependent on the player's style. Often they get tweaked or tuned for a pro player after they are purchased.
Same I agree
It may be because it progressed. Listen to the $100 then skip to the $5000 one. It’s like night and day
True
Me to plays trumpet
Are Tiger Woods golf clubs going to improve my golf game? probably not
The $500 trumpet was the most dramatic cost to quality reveal.
Your video made me teary eyed as someone who longs to play a trumpet, been caught up with studying and working. I would start with the 100usd trumpet and work my craft and skill in it until I reach above average!! Thank you so much!
Congrats on 100k! You've helped me a lot with your trumpet videos!
Congratulations on 100k Subs, hopefully you grow much Further ❤
Thank you!!
That is so cool how the trumpets varied in costs! They are arbitrary. Also, good luck on reaching 100k subs! You're almost there!
Dude you made all them sounds great,
I have played maybe 15 different trumpets so far, but only five so much that I can build a solid opinion about them. However, I noticed that the magical price is 1500€. Up to this point more money means better quality. Above that they just have different features. Some you might like, some you may dislike. If you have a trumpet with real gold, it will be expensive. However, the weight of the trumpet is a drawback, so you might choose a cheaper finish like a copper nickel coating (those are the silver looking ones. Real silver is very rare).
I know several professional players and most settle for a trumpet that is around 3000€ to 5000€. One of them has a 8000€ Dowids, but plays a 1800€ Yamaha because "it just feels like home". A really expensive trumpet won't make you better. It can, but often you prefer what you are used to anyways.
Played through high school and into college on a Bach Mercedes which sounded good enough, I guess. Then got a great deal on a Bach Strad LR180S37 and got a lot of compliments on tone quality. Still have the Strad, but only pull it out for a little nostalgia these days.
I got a killer deal my junior year of high school, on a (yr. 2004-5) New Bach Stradivarius model43G. Retail was right at $4,200 plus tax, incredibly my band director, Mack Roberts, had pull at Capital music center in Montgomery AL. Walked out only paying $1500!!!! Still have and cherish this horn. It was a total improvement over the beginner Bach I learned on in middle school. I went to college and saw several other players had Strads but they were the model 37. In my opinion the 43g is more of a concert horn, but it is capable of having a FAT bold velvet smooth sound. Doesn’t ever have a thin hushed sound. The big bore and reverse lead pipe helped to eliminate overpowering the horn. Also, not mine, but a Yamaha xeno is a great solo/concert horn. There are so many different types styles and concepts for different types of music sounds and players . I played more than 50 different horns before I found “the-one” I’ll never forget that day. I got to play a 20 pound $57,000 trumpet!! It was cumbersome, but had the darkest boldest sound I have ever heard/played!! Sorry for the lengthy rant. Hail Sinfonia! Epsilon Nu!!
congrats on 100k😀
The biggest difference I hear w students stepping up is valve/slide precision and projection. Intonation also stands out tho that’s largely dependent on player and mouthpiece combination
Vi su excelente canal y me suscribí inmediatamente maestro!
You are a good musicist. All trumpets sounds very well when you play them. Congra...!!!
1:50 amazing grace, how sweet, the sound
This guy is underrated 🔥🔥🔥
I went for a middle budget trumpet as a starter. Spent a little bit more but I feel the better quality overall. Good investment.
And to answer the question from 5:30, I would take one good trumpet over two mediocre.
I have a Winston Trumpet original 3 times produced with a perfect mouthpiece and my trumpet bring much more open sound
Wouldn't the first trumpet be a bugle since no valves?
Hey this is from a month later this video was made, but congrats on hitting 100,000! Thats a great achievement and you really inspire me! I would love if you could at least give a heart to my comment! I’m a new person to trumpet, but I’m getting better! So keeep up the good work ❤
whats the brand of the 500 bucks one
Every of them sound great. Ideally, the $5000 sounds the best. The songs r great. U sound great on every one of them, which is amazing! Again, u should host a live stream when celebrating 100K subs.
The First one is an, in Austria we say "Militär Horn"
Bugle from the UK
@@aname630And the US
I know it as Naturtrompete.
The 1 dollar trumpet isn’t even a trumpet it’s a bugle
IKR
I hear no difference in the sound anywhere! But I think that an expensive trumpet is going to be easier to play, will respond better, and will be a joy to hold in your hands, which means you will most likely practice more often and treat it with more respect (precision). I’ve got two cheap trumpets because I fell into the trap of “don’t buy an expensive trumpet if you can’t play.” So now I’ll be buying a third one for a lot more money and be stuck with the additional two cheap trumpets that I probably won’t be able to unload easily.
You should do: Finding the trumpet with the MOST VALVES
After 50 years of playing the trumpet/ cornet/ euphonium and playing on over 50 different horns what I've learned is that no matter what horn you play you're going to sound like you. Intonation and how the horn feels when you play it is key. Does the horn come alive when you put breath into it? Does it sing for you?
As a pianist, I have a pretty sharp ear for differences in different pianos. However, when it comes to this particular list of trumpets, there is no detectable difference to my ears from the $100-$5000 trumpets. And this should make sense, trumpets are usually a piece of brass, a factory can mass produce something identical to a professional crafting one by hand because it's all metal. It's not like a piano or a violin, where slight differences in the density of the wood can alter the timbre, this is why Steinway pianos are so expensive, and this is why Stradivarius violins are impossible to recreate. When you have brass or other metals, its literally all the same density, all that matters is the shape is correct. I think when it comes to the price points for these trumpets, it's more of a statement to use an expensive one, versus an actual edge.
Providing that all dimensions are correct all those instruments should sound much the same as they did. The player's mouthpiece plays an important role in producing intonation and the precision of the valves adds to the ease of playing.
In high school I had a Barclay. I played second chair. I couldn’t beat the guy next to me. One day he let me play his, an Elkhart. So much nicer.
Unless the player has a really cheap or problematic trumpet, I think the best investment would be to find the right mouthpiece to match the style and intended sound. In other words, an OK trumpet + great mouthpiece combination is much better than a great trumpet + OK mouthpiece.
Good point the articulation is from the player. A lot of trumpeters are more suited to the French horn .
plus good skills
Thats true, though in essence what you mean is to find what is comfortable to you. The sound, the movements, the air flow. Matching your body type, lips, fingers. Everything.
I used to play trumpet and i was good but my band teacher at the time didn't like me and kicked me out of band class 😞
As someone who got the 500 for 260, I am happy I saved money
My trumpet was 2000 to rent
He wouldn't even be able to play the 1 dollar trumpet the bell has a hole in it.
That 1$ trumpet kicking hard
I noticed a big difference in sound going to the $500 trumpet. Noticed another upgrade in sound quality with better tone and crispness of sound. The $1000 trumpet sounded very intentional in its sound quality.
Can you do a range comparison on these trumpet
Merci c'est très explicite
I have the Bach Stradivarius AB190s, msrp at 5k. The largest difference i'd noticed between my school owned $3k yamaha xeno was the articulation, it played relatively as easy (with slight differences) but it's all about what's comfortable for you.
I couldn't tell the difference
Are these new? A $1000 second-hand trumpet could easily be as good as a $5000 new one. In fact it could be the same trumpet a few years older! That said the last 2 sound similar. Once you reach around $2000 differences will be minor and down to personal preference. $10,000 won't necessarily get you a better trumpet. It might get you an instrument by a boutique maker with the ability to specify different lead pipes, bells, different alloy compositions, valve sets etc. if that's what you want but the quality of the instrument gets pretty high at around 2K so above it you're either paying for incremental improvements (which might even be illusory) or the ability to customize and get something to your exact personal taste.
I am a student trumpet player in high school right now. I believe that a student should start on a less expensive model, probably between 500 and 1000 dollars. I think a student is ready to purchase a more expensive intermediate or professional model trumpet, once they have reached the level where an upgrade will make a noticable difference in their playing. I started on a Jupiter student model, which served me very well for 5 years. This year I upgraded to a Bach Stradivarius 37, and immediately noticed a huge difference in tone quality, intonation, and ease of playing.
I can hear more breakup, detail air, snap,if you will with higher cost trumpets
De las distintas Trompeta que tocaron! Diría que tanto la de cien dólares como la de cinco mil dólares. Suenan iguales! Lo importante no es lo que cueste la Trompeta, sino el que la toque!
my real question is what is teh actually different could you maybe make a video showing construction difference id be intersted to see that....
I'd get the 100$ trumpet with no problem but only if the valves mechanism isn't as bad as my baritones 😂
Why dont you move the finger slide or do you have it set on a specific tone you like?
I’m not a trumpet player, I’m a euphonium, but I’ve heard that you technically don’t have to. It just makes it easier. Take this with a huge grain of salt though.
Hello, what microphone do you use to record the trumpet? Can you give me a link to this microphone?🤔🤔
Where can I buy the 100 dollars trumpet?
The $1 trumpet, even as smashed and broken as it is and with no valves still produces a surprisingly good sound, which makes it the instrument with the best quality/price ratio!😛
That 1 dollar trumpet is actually a bugle
I get that the point is to compare value.. But would have been nice to see the actual names of the trumpets.......
The first "trumpet" is actually a bugle. They are used by the military for multiple reasons. The most common one being to wake the troops in the morning with Reveille or let the troops know it's lights out by playing retreat.
The 1st one is a bugle used for military calls n stuff
Hey TH-cam community which trumpet is good for a 5 yr old beginner?
Bro called a bugle a trumpet
When you played Amazing Grace, I can tell. As a Yamaha user, I think the most expensive one is a Yamaha.
$1000 is Yamaha :)
@@DDTRUMPETGarage Yamaha 4335 GS, just like mine?
@@yannnique17 I used YTR 8335S
The $100 one sounded ... noisier, unpleasantly sharper than the others; the others I could not hear much difference with. O, and the bugle did sound pretty nice, considering the state of it.
I feel like the $1000 dollar trumpet is a big step up
They all basically sound the same to me. lol.
Does the 500$ trumpet not have a thumb sattle
His playing sounds auto tuned it. As a trumpet player it does not sound that good if u point ur bell right at the mic
What is the solo called 😅
my braindead head couldnt tell a difference between the 100 dollar trumpet and the 5k trumpet 💀💀💀💀
His valves look way too movey to actually playing those notes. and the 1$ one should have sounded terreble, while it sounded like a reg trumpet
I’d call him fake because I’m a trumpet player he sounds too perfect.
Just started playing trumpet, but yes. I can hear the difference, not sure if it’s because the metal is different with the silver ones and more expensive but the silver ones DO sound a bit better… Also, I don’t own one, but I’ve played one, they feel much easier to play and have really good airflow. Get the silver trumpets guys!
What are the names of the trumpets?
When it comes to professional grade trumpets, owners are always very picky as each player will want unique qualities. They will choose carefully and pay the asking price.
Beginners will be happy with a cheapy and if they stick with it, they will soon want something better. Try different instruments till you find one that seems right at that time.
Reliable valve action and intonation is important. Trouble with valves and you will want to change for another pretty quickly.
🎉
Does anybody know what are the trumpets he uses in this video? Please tell me
❤❤❤
does anyone know what the classical song was
The first one is a bugle not a trumpet
Мне понравился звук первой дудки... та что без клапанов...горн.
They all sounded good to me 🤣
am pretty sure the first one’s a actually called a bugle
They sound the same to me😂😂
blud found a military bugle
Okay, but what price range of trumpets did Louis Armstrong use in the early years? Because he always sounded alright with me. 😂👍🏼
To yamaha xeno ? ta za 5000$? jak tak to która
Hi, nice comparison! What about brands and models in this video or it's a 'top secret'?
I didn't include brands because I didn't want it to be associated with any advertising. But I can reveal some details :D
@@DDTRUMPETGaragewhat is the 1000 dollar trumpet
The $1 trumpet is a bugle
4:49v love the Amazing Graze💘💘💘💘💘💘
I dont hear any difference between the trumpets, and I really don't think it matters . The quality come more from the player than from the instrument.
As with most instruments, the player is the biggest factor. If you have good embouchure, good tone, good chops, you are going to sound good on any instrument. In terms of sound quality, the effect is Player > Mouthpiece > Instrument. I'm sure the valves are much smoother on the 5K trumpet, it blows easier, the heavier weight adds depth of tone, but it isn't 10X better than the $500 trumpet in general, and certainly not 5X better than the $1K trumpet. It is the same with all instruments - beyond a certain point the differences are so small that, unless you play in a top symphony orchestra or do session work I don't think the value is there.
I completely agree with you, the only instrument I've played that is difficult to make something sound good with a cheap and/or bad instrument is the drums, god anything you try to play on a drum with a "leitosa" skin (as we call it in Brazil, I don't know the translation, they are cheap white skins that come on starter drums) and poorly made aluminum cymbals simply sound painful
I can hear the difference but I can't explain it
For a good player every instrument is fine!
Lol my first trumpet was from my school, I own it, and it was 1.5K. Is that me being spoiled?
Sr i am from sri lanka sr please help me Sir, I don't have a mouthpiece that goes well with a nala, can you send me one if you can? It will be a big help.
my trumpet is 2 or 3,000 dollars. It plays alright but it has issues sometimes
guys whats the name of the song he was playing at 1:00??
The entertainer by Scott Joplin
I am a trumpet player too but ther is no difference ,maybe because he's good 😂 the difference might be in the instrument but the tone is the same
The first one it’s not a trumpet it’s a bugle
can someone drop the names of the songs
