    I've been waiting for this. It does not disappoint! Magnificent footage of your trip from Flores to Horta and your scenic visit there. I'll say it again and again, the fact that you're not receiving more attention than Sailing LaVagabonde is a crying shame. IMHO, your channel is superior. Thanks for sharing.

    • @GlendaHayward
      @GlendaHayward ปีที่แล้ว +8

      In agreement with you their channel is superior.

    • @tip00former1
      @tip00former1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why even talk about other channels? I know channels/ vids better than this, so what. As long as you enjoy them the creators are surely happy, as they want to share their adventure with us 😎
      Just to surprise you check the vid titled "woman solo sailing across the atlantic" and tell me if that was not as impressive. It is different, it has quality, and I am glad I saw it just this morning. Cheers 🍻
      Edit: I mean it has less views than any avarage episode of this channel, you think that is fair? 🤨

    • @morecowbell20
      @morecowbell20 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm going to guess by superior you are talking about the production value. If that's the case, I couldn't agree more. Cinematography, music and especially editing are vastly superior. Not putting any other channels down, but this channel is all that and a huge bag of chips.

    'Hard to put my finger on it, but I think you 2 are the best in what you do. I think it has to do with your polished, NON-CUTESY filming and your positive , non-complaining attitude -- especially when you are dealing with sea sickness. I have been drawn to your episodes since I first saw you salute neptune in the pacific. Thanks for sharing such an amazing circumnavigation!!!

    3 favourite bits and one disappointment from this video:
    1. The slow-mo B-roll footage is just out of this world - one of the many, many aspects that elevates the standard in YT sailing channels and makes this our favourite channel bar none.
    2. The audio during the dolphin/seabirds footage was a stand-out moment - LOVED it.
    3. Yay - you featured our mural 🙂. So fabulous to see it still there!
    And the disappointment? Well, another favourite element of your videos is Amy's squeaks and squeals of delight when ever she encounters any wildlife. Seeing dolphins and whales never gets old, of course. But hearing Amy's delight always reinforces the magic of the experience. Was worth supressing it this time to hear all the dolphin squeaks and clicks, I guess, but hope that normal service will be resumed soon!!

      Don't let the insidious BBC anywhere near this gem of a channel, so pure and genuine as it is. The BBC would have them relentlessly banging on about climate change, plastic in the ocean, and either Amy or Matt would have to black up or turn gay to tick a few boxes.

    I've often wondered what the Azores look like. Your videos of the islands are just fantastic to look at and as informative as always. Easily the best sailing and travel videos on TH-cam. As others have said, you deserve a much bigger audience. Looking forward to following the refit and your future adventures. 😀

  • @uisguexjack
    @uisguexjack ปีที่แล้ว

    I am most impressed. In 83 I was one of four sailing a Panda 40 from Bermuda to Flores to Horta then Galway.
    Your take on the Azores is spot on with mine. However I had the luxury of being there when not so many other boats were about. Can't believe how many boats you had in Horta. When we were in Flores there were a total of six boats visiting total.
    On Flores I don't think the place you tied up existed in 83. We were tied up directly bellow the airport thing which was unbelievable to watch. It looks like big storms have changed allot of the lay of the land.
    Cheers to the two of you, safe and fun journeys.

    Watching your videos over the past year has been a pleasure and delight.. I do hope that your future travels continue to create life-long memories.. they will be an absolute treasure, my guess is that you'll struggle to find contentment ashore, I know I did! Unfortunately, my TH-cam access is now limited as they insist I turn off 'ad-blocker'.. I found they're too many, too often and an irritating distraction.. Very Best Wishes for your future life and travels.. J. :>)

    Every fortnight i comment on your absolutely beautiful production, superb filming, stunning editing, ever improving face to camera, and total professionalism. I can’t for the life of me understand why your subscriptions remain stubbornly low. You are by a country mile the best sailing channel on YT. .. As your circumnavigation comes to an end, i have to admit to being a little nervous as to what comes next, having been following your voyage from the beginning .. but i am sure you’ve got it covered !

    This is such great work, all the beautiful images and the great narration. The comment below me compares your views to those of LaVagabonde - I think they cover a completely different topic, and it's a boring one: themselves. In the meantime, you go out and look at all the places and platypuses.
    This is so great to watch, all the best to you two!

    Whichever island has the US Air Base was an enchanting stop in the late 80's. I fell in love with the people and culture. It is such a beautiful place that will hopefully avoid the trappings of mass tourism. Especially with newer aircraft that can fly over the Atlantic. I wish I could go and stay three weeks, much envy here...

    In fact, I was already under the impression that you had been experiencing very unseasonal weather for mid-summer, since you left Bermuda.
