Having followed your journey from the very start, your videography, photography, music selection, film editing, and the sheer quality of the video is beyond any Hollywood production. This needs it's own series on a travel network. Congratulation on your success, I for one of many will miss your weekly updates. Much respect!

Thank you for your very kind comment, the videos will keep coming fortnightly; we have lots of editing to do alongside Florence's refit before we set off again.

I feel you are amongst the few, if not the only channel to capture the magnitude of such an adventure. Flawless filming/editing, epic narration, and a certain level of humility that makes you quite endearing. I am elated that your channel will go on after you complete round one!

I can only imagine the sheer magnitude watching on my phone. Undoubtedly, your films deserve the big screen with Dolby surround sound. Bravo, Florence is safely docked at the beautiful island of Flores. Thank you for sharing. 🌻🌺

The best sailing channel on TH-cam by far. Thank you for your very accurate portrait of life at sea, and your masterful recording and editing of same. A masterpiece!!!!!

I did this 19 years ago. Bloody great storm 200 miles from Flores that terrified me. Alone, ragged sails, no wind vane or autopilot, no AIS or radar or SSB radio. The Azores were amazing. Your wonderful cinematography takes me back. Great work guys. Some Frenchies gave me fresh bread and a welcome beer. I couldn't have been happier. Drinking red wine and talking tall tales of improbably large waves. Playing the bongos at Pete's bar. Happy days.

Thank you two, for bringing a huge amount of joy, to so many. The beauty captured by your cameras and your entertaining narratives are a breath of fresh air for those of us who are relegated to living vicariously through your epic voyage! Bless you Matt and Amy! You are truly a gift to the world. 👍🏻🙏🏻

We only started sailing last year and have totally emerged ourselves in all things sailing. Having do e lots if formal training bought a 36 foot yacht and completed 12 weeks of sailing up , down and around the Scottish West Coast. ... we are challenging ourselves and learning so much!
We have watched so many TH-cam sailing channels but you two are the absolute best! We value your spirit of adventure, your openness, your skills and experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. ❤

As a Portuguese man, that actually only had the pleasure of visiting the Azores once as a child once in my life, I just find it to poetic that there's a sailing ship reaching for these Portuguese Islands on their Atlantic crossings. You learn about the "Age of Discovery" sailors as a child and a teen and you cannot hope to feel any less than inspired. Sadly, lots of times you realize sailing is not in your family and/or is just too expensive. Thankfully you still get to learn english and then a few decades after you learn about english speaking folk that are sailing the seasons and coming to touch land in the Azores.
It's so lovely to realize people around the world are connected. Cheers from Portugal - I'm proud my small country could bring about some sort of impactful step or steps in bringing together people from around the world. Chers.

WOW! What an opening drone shot, from high above the boat, then tilting up - matching the commentary exactly - to see the Azores ahead. Well done, whoever thought of that one.

Sound sailing during (multiple and simultaneous) system problems is the best possible thing you could have done. Giving yourself sea room and time to assess problem/s/s, plan and execute was correct and makes up for any mistakes. Very good job solving problems together. It was appropriately intense, both earning a new stripe! You are a fine crew and a strong couple.

I was just wondering if you kept track of the amount of diesel and gasoline you used in 46,000 miles. You two are the ultimate sailors and it would be interesting to see how little liquid fuel you used. I have enjoyed the entire journey so far and am looking forward to the future.

I used to watch a bunch of sailing channels, but only watch yours and Adventures of an Old Sea Dog now, for very different reasons. Barry's channel is a bit goofy and what I would hope I could aspire to, and I love it. But yours, your channel is a masterpiece in ... everything! And the best part is I haven't had a chance to go back to the beginning and watch your earlier videos. Thanks!!

It's such a pleasure to watch you as talented sailors who work so well together and get real joy from being at sea. A few thoughts, from someone who has been on dry land for a long time; Florence seems ever so slightly 'nose-heavy' under spinnaker or broad reach; that seemed like perfect gennaker weather but you probably don't need more sails than the jibs, mains, genoa, and spinnaker you're carrying; you mentioned in the last video that you didn't want to put up the storm jib unless conditions worsened, but I would have thought that before then would be the optimal time; and how much water do you carry on an ocean passage? A small freshwater shower is probably deserved after a week of squalls!

I haven't yet been fortunate enough to sail to Flores, but as a result of this fantastic episode, it is now on my list! What a beautiful island! A small piece of trivia for you - the Jellyfish you filmed are known as Portuguese Man-O-War (Or, as us Australians know them - Bluebottles, or 'Blueys')
The nematocysts (Stinging cells, i.e. barbs), I believe, are too small and soft to puncture thick skin (Hands and feet), as I have often stomped on them on the beach when they have washed ashore, to no ill avail. I also believe the 'Sails' can be pointed somewhat in direction, to enable them to change course. I'd love to hear a marine biologists point-of-view!
Thank-you guys for another wonderful episode, for all of the superlative footage, editing and production of both your sailing (Which is unfortunately very rare on most channels...😒) and all of the panoramic landscape footage and my sincerest congratulations on such a professional production. You guys definitely deserve many, many more subscribers and therefore revenue. (Another 100K subs would hopefully convince you to cast off the lines on an "SV Florence II", for another couple of laps around this big, blue marble (That it seems is getting smaller and smaller, thanks to folks like yourselves!)) Well done on such an amazing achievement and I look forward with sincere sadness to your final episode... 🥺
    Yours sincerely,
    Mr Michel Dawes
