I got the Rising Talent badge a few days ago and then got it replaced with 100% JSS yesterday. I started seriously in November 2021. I was already improving bit by bit, watching and reading a lot of stuff online. But for sure, like you said what Evan is doing here is way more helpful, and insightful. I have upped my proposal writing skills, and tweaked certain things on my profile, and learned so many things that I would have never known otherwise. Evan, at 16:00 or there abouts, you mentioned NOT to copy and paste text into a proposal. At the same time, speed is critical to respond to a client. Can you comment on the right and wrong about writing prewritten proposals inside MS Word, and having, say 8 or 10 available for the jobs you're looking to apply for. These proposals can then be copied and then revised to fit the exact content for that specific job. This will be lots faster than writing a new proposal inside Upwork each time you apply for jobs. BTW, I offer voiceover services for commercials, radio, TV, PSA and audio books. Thanks for your comments.

I just got kicked out of the company I was starting to work as a call center agent coz I didn’t meet their standard based on what I was trained... plus it was very toxic to work with jealous people... savotaged my work and someone even turned off my computer on my station during my lunch break. I'm top rated and I can say that I hope this helps smarter people than me. I just had to learn all this by banging my head against the wall 😀 Don't be like me. This is really helpful advice. It's a free hack. Use it! 🔥
14:30 "why won't you do this for the old rate?" The best way I have found to get around this is I tell them my rates fluctuate depending on the work involved. Does the client already have 90% of the work done? Great, that's going to be cheaper than having to make things from scratch.
It wins for them, but not so much for you! There's a bit more advanced "rate strategy" that I'll probably cover surrounding this but think of it this way... Ideally when someone looks at your profile & job history, they don't see rates all over the place. They know what "today's rate" is because all the rates are the same. The process of getting there is kind of involved but I've found that to be very helpful once you ARE there!
If Upwork was the movie Matrix you would be Neo. Learned so many new things. I didn't know Upwork suggest an hourly rate to the clients. This is eye-opening. Thanks again for educating us. You are amazing.

Hey! Wonderful video! Can I raise my hourly rate after I have accepted the offer, via changing terms options? I mean how would I do that when talking with my client. This is only in case I assume afterwards the quality of work I am delivering deserves a bit higher hourly rate.
You "can" do that in theory, but in practice I wouldn't. I'd close out Project 1 (current project) at a major milestone, and then when they need more work, explain you've raised your rate. You have the feedback locked in then.
Just recently started being active on it, already made about 5k in about 2-3 months which, my goal is to reach 15-20k this year and then double up next year. Btw what are your thoughts for agencies, which is better to grow financially on Upwork, to work as freelancers, or start an agency with multiple freelancers on Upwork? @Egzon Salihu that's awesome, congratulations on $5k in 2-3 months, that's really a great start! You can definitely hit $15-20k this year (I would bet that if you're strategic about it, you can end up doing DOUBLE that!) I have a lot of thoughts on agencies - some people can make them work better than others, but I would suggest keeping your individual profile as the most active right now. Agency is a tough model to grow, because I found that the highest-paying clients don't want to work with an agency - they want to work with YOU personally (the Expert). But there's tons of ways to make this work without having to do all of the work personally - that is what my Advanced course is going to focus on 😉I know that it works, because I have DONE IT 🥰 Are you going to sign up for the course? I think you would REALLY benefit from it! No guarantees on your earnings but I genuinely think that if you've done $5k in the past 2-3 months, you can 100% get to at least $30k, maybe $40k if you jump on the program :) Would love to have you!
But what if you don't have any work examples? I mean, for example, if I'm looking for a job on Upwork as a "Hebrew teacher" or if someone is looking for a guy to translate for them a document from English to Hebrew or from English to Russian and I am a native English and Russian speaker but I never worked in this field

The best way I have found to get around this is I tell them my rates fluctuate depending on the work involved.
Does the client already have 90% of the work done? Great, that's going to be cheaper than having to make things from scratch.
It wins for them, but not so much for you! There's a bit more advanced "rate strategy" that I'll probably cover surrounding this but think of it this way...
Ideally when someone looks at your profile & job history, they don't see rates all over the place. They know what "today's rate" is because all the rates are the same. The process of getting there is kind of involved but I've found that to be very helpful once you ARE there!

The other day I saw a video where someone was saying client sees the additional questions 1st then thy see the cover letter. (upwork format), not sure if that's true or not but most of the people don't know what it looks like from clients end, including me.

Get a testimonial from someone who knows you, who you have done any sort of work for!
Hey! Wonderful video! Can I raise my hourly rate after I have accepted the offer, via changing terms options? I mean how would I do that when talking with my client. This is only in case I assume afterwards the quality of work I am delivering deserves a bit higher hourly rate.
You "can" do that in theory, but in practice I wouldn't. I'd close out Project 1 (current project) at a major milestone, and then when they need more work, explain you've raised your rate. You have the feedback locked in then.

Just recently started being active on it, already made about 5k in about 2-3 months which, my goal is to reach 15-20k this year and then double up next year. Btw what are your thoughts for agencies, which is better to grow financially on Upwork, to work as freelancers, or start an agency with multiple freelancers on Upwork?

@Egzon Salihu that's awesome, congratulations on $5k in 2-3 months, that's really a great start! You can definitely hit $15-20k this year (I would bet that if you're strategic about it, you can end up doing DOUBLE that!) I have a lot of thoughts on agencies - some people can make them work better than others, but I would suggest keeping your individual profile as the most active right now. Agency is a tough model to grow, because I found that the highest-paying clients don't want to work with an agency - they want to work with YOU personally (the Expert). But there's tons of ways to make this work without having to do all of the work personally - that is what my Advanced course is going to focus on 😉I know that it works, because I have DONE IT 🥰
Are you going to sign up for the course? I think you would REALLY benefit from it! No guarantees on your earnings but I genuinely think that if you've done $5k in the past 2-3 months, you can 100% get to at least $30k, maybe $40k if you jump on the program :) Would love to have you!
