I love it! I would suggest or recommend getting a LT4 hot cam kit. I found on Craigslist a guy selling the GMPP LT4 hot cam kit for $200 so jumped all over it. This was about 6 years ago or so. But that cam in a vortec headed 350 would be about 400 hp. And very choppy exhaust. Love the truck and what you did to it!
Thanks man! I appreciate the kind words and advice. I've already ordered heads, cam and intake for the truck but, it takes me so long to save up to get the rest of the stuff that I haven't installed them yet. I hosted a video showing the parts. Check it out when you can. Thanks for watching. Keep wrenching and be blessed! ✊🏾✊🏾
Ok guys, I have been getting so many requests on the build specs and parts descriptions in my engine that I got overwhelmed. I now understand that some may not want their email addresses in the comments like that. So, I copy and pasted the information I sent to a few others so everyone can see what I put in and on my engine in the description of this video so everyone can read it without having to share their email addresses. Hope this helps. Be blessed!✊🏾✊🏾
I was reading the description. I believe that flat top and hypereutectic pistons are different. Hypereutectic pistons are designed to come up past the deck and go into the cylinder head slightly for more compression. That's why they have the valve reliefs cut into the top of them so they dont smash the valves.
@@thehulkamaniabrother2.089 flat top pistons are exactly as described friend...they have a flat top(some have 2 or 4 valve reliefs) hypereutectic pistons are what the piston is MADE OF not what shape they are....(35 years in auto, machining, metallurgy)stock pistons are cast aluminum ,next are hyperuetectic, next are forged....it has nothing to do with the shape.....DOMED pistons stick up from the deck surface, flat top pistons are flat, dished pistons have a dished recess and lower the overall compression.
You'd think after working on so many of my old mans GM/Chevy trucks when i was younger id have one of these by now. Ive had a 96 F150 and a 2nd gen Ram. Might be time to get me my own OBS. That "Chevy Chop" is timeless.
Thank you so much! I'm glad I'm able to inspire and motivate people with what I'm doing. Stay tuned for my next video when the rest of my parts come in....✊🏾✊🏾
I've got a 94 and I was thinking about doing the same mods as you did ,but I was also told that them tbi heads are junk . I was wondering if the mods you made helped in that respect as far as performance
vortec heads are an easy 35-50 horsepower increase,(add a reasonable cam and you can get 75+ horsepower)more efficient combustion chamber, better flow, faster burn....well worth it over tbi heads which are terrible and choke out at or under 4000 rpm
Thanks man! I don't know about professional but, I try my best to copy the guys I see on TV that I watch! They just have sponsors and businesses to help them. I have a much smaller spending limit!😆😆
Great job my friend, I’m helping a friend rebuild his 350 and want to give it a little bit of an aggressive sound. He doesn’t have Vortec heads on his but I am wondering if your cam would work all the same. If you have a chance to give me the brand and specs it would be greatly appreciated! Family first, Hot rods second, you could be a great roll model for so many people. 👍

@@WorkingwithBobby Nooooo! lol i get it your prolly maken alittle more than a stock ls with all the upgrades... but man its only up from here... i think the fact that the ls has a stout roller cam and like amazing factory heads is really the only thing the ls has over the small block chevy. if you block is late it might even have provisions for a roller... that way you can use the factory roller gm lifters and do a roller cam on the cheap. Honestly though the advantages as far as power goes, with flat tappet vs roller is debatable and there are advantages with flat tappets like ramp rate that rollers cant compete with. Now rollers are more reliable due to the state of oil and the fact that the production quality is hit and miss. Let's not forget about solid flat tappets being great for rpm if you want to keep stuff cheap and don't care about adjusting rockers. The biggest problem with the small block chevy is cylinder head flow from the factory heads... up until the Vortec head. Another thing is the small block chevy center two cylinders exhaust ports are limited in potential flow due to the position being in the middle of the head and both cylinders having to make a 90 degree or so turn to exit. Notice all the best heads have the exhaust ports spaced. Anyway i could talk all day about this stuff. keep with the small block dude those ls engines arent cheap now anyway... everyone thinks they have a unicorn when selling those things lol

Awe HELL yah!!! I got a 92 man...Long bed ext cab c1500 Silverado. I got it used from a guy that said it was rebuilt at 169k miles and trans also. Which I can attest that since I've never seen a Chevy 350 over 100k with NO SMOKE. Haha. It's clean engine and trans but it's sat now for a couple years. Battery dead. Thinking about fixing it up. Last time I drove it it smoked the tires a bit showing my son in law. The dude said when I got it in 2012 that is was rebuilt to a 383 but I cannot tell ....other than it's pretty torqued up. Never went over 90 in it as I am not about driving fast these day. Still TBI 350 stock if not. Killer video man!!!! Love these old trucks. I remember when we talked about old trucks back in the day but they were 60s and 70s. Hahahaha peace man.
That's a nice sound! I'm working on a somewhat similar setup right now for my '88, though instead of a carb I'm retaining the TBI. I picked up some aftermarket Vortec heads, a GM Performance Parts TBI intake, and an EBL Flash 2 mod for my ECM. I'm running a nearly identical exhaust setup, and a Summit SUM-8800 roller camshaft. So far I don't have it back together yet to hear it run, but I'm looking forward to a sound similar to yours!

No problem dude! That's what I'm trying to do! Just encourage folk to keep working and wrenching until we get it done! Good luck on your project! ✊🏾✊🏾
@@WorkingwithBobbyit’s coming along… doing a different build from the norm… gonna cam a build up a 4.3 I found from an S10 Xtreme with 60k miles on it for $300 from a buddy. Found a shop about 40 minutes from me that’s hoping me up with a turbo and cooler setup. It’ll take me some time to get it done with family and house duties but it’s coming along! Had a bench seat and I found buckets and a console for it. Hopefully me and my lady can be cruising by spring! I’m almost done with my 95 Tahoe 2door! I put in the same Summit cam you have and I’m running Holley injection and a Holley intake manifold. It’s a budget build as well on a rust free truck from Tennessee! Good to know there’s still some guys out here doing the same thing!!! ✌🏽
@WillCtheMechDrummer Wow man, that's great! I wish you the best of luck with your build and good job doing something different! I respect that! Be blessed.✊🏾✊🏾
Very good detailed description of the little things that need to be done to prevent problems as you go, and I applaud 👏 you for doing it yourself and on a budget I admire that. Enjoy your truck and God bless you
Thanks Gary. I'm trying to do the best I can with what I can afford. I also wanted to get the message out there that we little people can hot rod too! It just takes us much longer since we don't have a lot of money! You be blessed as well.🤟🏾🤟🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Love what you’re doing with the truck. Sounds great and love that you’re putting your family first. That’s the most important thing. Building on a budget needs to be more common. So many people go into debt over a project and it’s absolutely not worth it.
Thank you! I agree 100%. Some of us have the want to and the dream but, our pockets don't match what we want to do. It's not the end of the world though, it just takes us longer to put a build together. And I will never put any vehicle before my family. Thanks for watching! ✊🏾✊🏾
Love your mindset bradda🤙positive vibes...tryna do it to my 93 and juggling between fishing, truck, and family and work like you said 1 has to sit in the back
Yes sir!✊🏾✊🏾 Appreciate you. I understand completely. Gotta take care of family first. But, if you keep God first and in the midst of everything you do, it will come together. My next video on my truck will be straight motivation!

Hello,
The truck sounds awesome bro!
I admire your accomplishments. I know its hard to have a project and more importantly to have a family. Very well done my friend. Never change the way your doing things bro . You have a nice truck. I still have a lot to work on my 91 chevy silverado but you inspired me to continue. With very low and tight budget, yeah it's possible. Congratulations on your truck bro.
God bless you.
Thank you!
Respect my man. I appreciate the kind words of encouragement. Im glad my story encourged you to keep pressing forward. Good luck on your build and be blessed!

No problem Greg. I'm doing this to encourage others to keep working on their rides. I'm glad it was a blessing to you. ✊🏾✊🏾
Love this man. I have an itch to build a muscle truck and this is right up my alley. Great work.
Thank you so much! I hope you get started on your truck and keep going until you finish!✊🏾✊🏾
Thank you my man! Love the build

Yes sir! Keep wrenching! 🔧🔧✊🏾✊🏾
Yeah I've been seriously considering that option thanks for the info! I appreciate it
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 where could I get the vortex heads?? Like a pick and pull or order brand new??
That truck sounds professionally built if you ask me! Bad ass👌

Great job my friend, I’m helping a friend rebuild his 350 and want to give it a little bit of an aggressive sound. He doesn’t have Vortec heads on his but I am wondering if your cam would work all the same. If you have a chance to give me the brand and specs it would be greatly appreciated! Blessed is the word family over material 🙏 just rebuilt my 5.3 Ls bored .40 over with a tune …
Yes sir! And that's awesome! I may go LS one day.🤔🤔
@@WorkingwithBobby Nooooo! lol i get it your prolly maken alittle more than a stock ls with all the upgrades... but man its only up from here... i think the fact that the ls has a stout roller cam and like amazing factory heads is really the only thing the ls has over the small block chevy. if you block is late it might even have provisions for a roller... that way you can use the factory roller gm lifters and do a roller cam on the cheap.
Goos work and great message. Proud to have stumbled across your path.

Awe I got the stock big ass single y pipe ....I want to dual it and get it breathing too.
And I need them headers brother. Hahah
YES SIR!
Sounds awesome! Let me know how it sounds when you finish!
